The 2026 Dell XPS 14 DA14260 is a premium 14-inch laptop aimed at portable productivity, with a choice between a 1920×1200 non-touch screen and a higher-resolution 2880×1800 OLED touchscreen. The screen choice also matters for battery life: in Tom’s Guide’s 2026 continuous Wi-Fi browsing test at 150 nits, its OLED-equipped unit lasted 12 hours 23 minutes, while a tested 1200p LED model lasted 20 hours 41 minutes. Those are results for specific review units and a controlled test, not guarantees for every configuration or workload.

Which XPS 14 DA14260 configuration is this review about?

Dell identifies the 2026 laptop as the XPS 14 DA14260. Its processor, memory, storage, operating system, and display can vary by configuration and market. The battery figures below compare Tom’s Guide’s OLED-equipped review unit with its tested 1200p LED model; they should not be treated as results from one identical configuration. Check the exact specification and regional listing before buying.

Dell describes the laptop as “built for creation on the go” and calls it its thinnest 14-inch laptop. That is Dell’s marketing description; independent battery results and the practical trade-offs of each configuration are more useful for judging whether it suits your needs. Dell’s XPS 14 product page is the place to confirm the listing available in your market.

Which XPS 14 display should you choose?

Dell’s 2026 reviewer guide lists two 14-inch panels. The 1920×1200 option is non-touch and has a 1–120 Hz refresh range; the 2880×1800 OLED option is a touchscreen with a 20–120 Hz range. The OLED provides higher resolution, touch input, deeper contrast, and a wider listed color gamut. The 1200p panel is the more battery-oriented choice in the cited review comparison.

Display option Specifications listed by Dell Practical consideration
1920×1200 non-touch 14 inches; 500 nits typical; 100% sRGB; 1–120 Hz Lower resolution and no touch; the tested 1200p LED configuration delivered the longer battery result in Tom’s Guide’s comparison.
2880×1800 OLED touchscreen 14 inches; 400 nits typical, 500 nits peak; 100% DCI-P3; 20–120 Hz Higher resolution, touch, OLED contrast, and broader listed color gamut; the OLED review unit had the shorter result in the same stated browsing test.

These specifications come from Dell’s reviewer guide, and availability can vary by region and configuration. Confirm the panel on the actual SKU rather than assuming every DA14260 listing offers both choices. Dell’s XPS 14 reviewer guide provides the listed display details.

How long does the XPS 14 battery last?

In Tom’s Guide’s 2026 continuous Wi-Fi web-browsing test at 150 nits, its OLED-equipped XPS 14 averaged 12 hours 23 minutes. Its tested XPS 14 with a 1200p LED panel lasted 20 hours 41 minutes under the same stated test conditions. That is a substantial difference, but it is a comparison between tested configurations—not an isolated measurement of the panel alone. Processor and other configuration differences may also matter, and real-world runtime changes with brightness, applications, wireless use, and workload.

Use the results as a guide to the display trade-off, not a promise of all-day runtime. If battery endurance is your priority, the cited test favors the 1200p LED unit. If OLED image quality and touch are more important, consider whether the shorter measured result fits how and where you work. Tom’s Guide’s XPS 14 review reports the test results.

Is the XPS 14 fast enough for work and creative tasks?

The independent reviews position the XPS 14 as a premium portable productivity laptop that can handle some lighter creative work. Tom’s Guide reported a Geekbench 6 multi-core score of 16,927 for its 2026 review unit. That is a benchmark result for that unit, not a score every DA14260 configuration should be expected to match.

Integrated graphics make configuration and workload important. This is not established as a dedicated-GPU gaming laptop or workstation; buyers who depend on heavy graphics processing should look for a system with a suitable discrete GPU and compare sustained performance for their applications. Memory options and operating-system availability also depend on the exact SKU. RTINGS reports configurations up to 64 GB of RAM and Windows or Ubuntu availability, but verify those options for your region before ordering. RTINGS’ XPS 14 (2026) review discusses the model’s positioning and configuration considerations.

Who should buy the Dell XPS 14 DA14260?

It makes sense if

  • You want a premium 14-inch laptop for portable productivity and prefer having a choice of panel type.
  • You need Thunderbolt 4 connectivity and are comfortable connecting peripherals through USB-C or a dock.
  • You want OLED, touch, higher resolution, and broad listed color gamut, and accept that the cited OLED unit had less runtime than the tested 1200p model.

Look elsewhere if

  • You need dedicated-GPU performance for demanding gaming, 3D work, or other graphics-heavy workloads.
  • Your workflow depends on a built-in microSD reader or multiple legacy ports and you do not want to use adapters.
  • You need a specific operating system, memory amount, processor, or display: verify the exact SKU, because options vary by market.

What to check before ordering

  1. Confirm the full model is XPS 14 DA14260 and check the processor, memory, storage, and operating system on the exact regional listing.
  2. Choose the 1920×1200 non-touch panel for the simpler, battery-oriented option, or the 2880×1800 OLED touchscreen for resolution, touch, contrast, and color-gamut advantages.
  3. Match the USB-C port selection to your devices; add a dock or adapter only if your setup requires ports the laptop lacks.
  4. Compare the listed price for that exact configuration at checkout. Dell’s promotional pricing can change, so a price from another date should not be treated as current.
