The Dell 14 Plus DB14250 looks promising for buyers who value performance and long battery life, but its display and input-device tradeoffs deserve attention. The evidence available here covers multiple configurations rather than a single independently tested unit, so the right verdict depends on the exact processor, screen, memory, storage, and price offered in your region.
Dell’s cited configuration pairs a 14-inch 2.5K non-touch IPS/WVA anti-glare display rated at 300 nits with a 64 Wh integrated battery. That is not a universal specification for every DB14250. Check the configuration details before comparing prices or relying on review results.
What configuration does this review cover?
Dell identifies the laptop as model DB14250, but sells it in selectable configurations. The reviewed evidence does not establish one specific physical unit’s complete specification set, operating system, or market, so it would be misleading to present a single configuration as the definitive review model. Dell’s product listing is the place to confirm the live options and price for your region: Dell 14 Plus product page.

How good is the display?
Dell lists a 14-inch 2.5K, non-touch IPS/WVA anti-glare panel rated at 300 nits for one configuration. Those figures describe that listed option, not every DB14250. Dell’s owner’s manual refers to both FHD+ and 2.5K display variants, so verify the resolution and touch support on the exact unit: Dell owner’s manual.
Laptop Mag’s review criticizes the display, alongside the audio and shallow touchpad, while still noting good battery life and decent performance. That is the publication’s assessment, not a result from testing every display option. If image quality matters to you, compare the actual panel resolution, brightness, touch support, and panel type instead of assuming the 2.5K specification applies to the lower-priced listing.

What do reviews say about performance and battery life?
Reviewers emphasize performance and endurance, but their results should be read in context. Laptop Mag characterizes performance as decent and battery life as good. Tom’s Guide reports strong overall performance and more than 13 hours of battery life in its own test context; that runtime is a reviewer result, not a Dell guarantee or a prediction for every workload and configuration: Tom’s Guide review.
Dell lists a 64 Wh integrated battery for the cited configuration. Capacity is a specification, not a runtime measurement. Screen choice, processor, workload, settings, and other conditions can affect how long a laptop runs away from an outlet; the available review summaries do not establish identical test workloads that would support a direct runtime comparison.

Which ports and accessories should you plan for?
Dell’s listing includes Thunderbolt 4 and USB connectivity, but confirm the exact port inventory on the configuration you are buying. A dock or USB-C hub may be useful if your desk setup needs more connections or a simple way to attach peripherals. Whether you need one depends on the ports and devices in your setup; the available evidence does not establish that a particular dock was tested with this laptop.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How should you decide whether the price is worthwhile?
Judge the offer in your market against alternatives available at the same time. Dell’s live price and promotions can change, and regional starting configurations differ, so a headline price is meaningful only when the processor, graphics, screen, RAM, storage, and operating system match. Do not compare a lower-priced FHD+ option with a 2.5K configuration as though they were the same deal.

- Look elsewhere if you prioritize display quality, audio, or touchpad feel and the configuration you can buy does not address the concerns raised by Laptop Mag.
