The Living Continent – Seasons – Sky – Weather is a mod by Deezyyyy for the next-gen DirectX 12 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. It adds a year-round seasonal cycle, weather and sky effects, and 21 kinds of European meadow wildflowers, according to the mod’s author. What does the Witcher 3 seasons mod add?
The mod layers seasonal and weather effects into the game’s renderer. Deezyyyy says the game’s existing clouds, lighting, and world remain unchanged, and that no other sky mod is needed. A cycle through spring, summer, autumn and winter
The game’s days progress through four seasons, with vegetation changing over the course of the year. Players can set season length according to game time or time actually spent playing. The listed play-time choices are 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours per season.
21 wildflower species
Deezyyyy describes 21 European meadow species, each appearing during its own weeks and progressing from bud to bloom to faded flower. The author says these flowers are rendered as geometry in the game’s G-buffer and move in the wind. The figure of 21 is the mod page’s claim, not an independently verified count.

Snow that accumulates and melts
The author says snow builds up as it falls and melts afterward. Listed winter options and effects include selectable snow depth, snow on vegetation and walls, icicles, frozen small bodies of water, and seasonal winter weather. Fires are also described as melting snow nearby.
Changing vegetation, rain and ground effects
Other listed changes include seasonal leafing, autumn colors, falling leaves that gather beneath trees, and vegetation resting in winter. Rain can soak characters and surfaces and form puddles. Wind moves grass, while footprints can appear in snow, mud, and sand.

Sky effects, villagers and controls
The mod page lists stars and the Milky Way, northern lights, meteor showers, occasional lunar eclipses and comets, as well as daytime halos, sundogs, sun pillars, and rainbows. It also says villagers switch to the game’s winter clothing in cold weather, while quest and scene characters keep their existing outfits.

A calendar and quick panel provide controls for settings such as the date, season, weather, and snow. The page also lists choices including natural or vivid seasonal color, snowfall density, and darker-night levels; it does not publish controlled comparisons of their appearance or performance.

What does the mod require, and which game version does it target?
The Nexus Mods listing identifies the target as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt next-gen DirectX 12 and currently shows version 1.4.1, updated October 11, 2026. It lists ReShade 6.8+ with full add-on support as an off-site requirement for binx64_dx12witcher3.exe. The author says no ReShade effects or presets are needed. Check the current Nexus listing and its installation guidance before installing, since requirements can change between releases.
What changed in version 1.4.1?
The version 1.4.1 changelog says the author fixed a calendar performance issue and an issue where winter rain-as-snow could appear indoors in some tall halls. It describes an interior check that looks for ceilings up to 10 m above and walls up to 12 m away. These are changelog notes, not independent performance or compatibility test results.
