DeepSigma has announced a decentralized exchange for perpetual futures linked to real-world assets, but the product described so far is a paper-trading demo—not evidence of a live venue for funded trades. The company says the demo covers 77 markets, including U.S. equities, indexes, commodities, sector ETFs and Treasury yields. Its contracts are described as offering price exposure rather than ownership of the underlying assets.

What DeepSigma announced

In an announcement dated October 13, 2026, DeepSigma described a decentralized perpetual-futures exchange for real-world assets (RWAs). The release says its demo supports paper trading across 77 markets and includes market data, technical analysis and AI-powered trading insights. Crypto Briefing also reported the 77-market paper-demo figure the same day, corroborating the announcement’s description—not the launch of live, funded trading.

The announced market categories are U.S. equities, indexes, commodities, sector ETFs and Treasury yields. The announcement does not establish that users can deposit funds, place real orders or withdraw proceeds on a live exchange.

What the contracts represent—and what they do not

DeepSigma says its perpetual contracts use external price data to track real-world markets and allow traders to take long or short exposure. The release says the contracts do not tokenize or take custody of the referenced assets. A contract tied to a stock, commodity or Treasury yield therefore should not be mistaken for owning that share, commodity or Treasury security.

The announcement does not identify the external data providers or explain how prices are selected, how margin and liquidation work, how positions settle, or what fees and liquidity users could expect. Those details matter before assessing how a live perpetual contract would behave in volatile markets.

How Cypherium fits in

The release says DeepSigma is powered by Cypherium, which it characterizes as an open, permissionless Layer 1 blockchain. It describes Cypherium’s architecture as combining Proof-of-Work with HotStuff-derived Byzantine Fault Tolerant consensus, and claims that the technology is protected by four granted U.S. patents: 12,443,569; 11,907,174; 11,516,006; and 11,411,721. These are claims made in the announcement; the cited coverage does not independently verify the architecture or patent status.

Using blockchain infrastructure does not, by itself, establish how an exchange handles custody, settlement, market integrity or regulatory obligations. The announcement does not provide enough operational detail to assess those questions.

Who is behind the announcement

The release presents DeepSigma as a project involving people with experience at Goldman Sachs, Citadel Securities, Google and Uber. It identifies Albert Xu as CFO and a former Goldman Sachs FICC portfolio manager, Chaoran Wang as CTO and a former Google and Uber engineer, and Jenny Chen as Chief Quant Director, most recently at Citadel Securities. These biographies are attributed to the announcement and are not independent employment verification.

Sky Guo, identified in the release as a Cypherium founder, said the project brings together traditional-finance market structure and risk discipline with on-chain perpetuals infrastructure. The statement expresses the project’s rationale; it is not evidence that the demo has been independently evaluated or that live trading is available.

Regulatory wording does not establish approval

DeepSigma’s announcement says the company is working with specialized digital-asset counsel and has designed the platform around U.S. regulatory frameworks. That wording does not establish a license, registration, regulatory approval, or which jurisdictions or users may access the service. The announcement does not specify eligibility restrictions, so prospective users should not infer that the platform is authorized or available to them.

DeepSigma is not Goldman Sachs’ GS DAP

The Goldman Sachs reference in the headline concerns the experience attributed to members of DeepSigma’s team; it does not establish that Goldman Sachs launched, owns or operates DeepSigma. Goldman Sachs separately described GS DAP as its blockchain-based financial-services platform. In November 2024, the bank said it intended to explore a potential spin-out of that technology platform, subject to regulatory approvals. The GS DAP announcement is background on a separate initiative, not evidence of a relationship with DeepSigma.

What remains unknown about trading

The available announcement and same-day coverage establish the existence and stated scope of a paper-trading demo. They do not establish the following details needed to evaluate a live exchange:

Best Value
Trading: Technical Analysis Masterclass: Master the financial markets
  • Language: english
  • Book - trading: technical analysis masterclass: master the financial markets
  • It is made up of premium quality material.
  • Whether or when funded trading will launch
  • Fees, liquidity, margin requirements or liquidation rules
  • Which external price-data providers are used and how their data is handled
  • Custody, settlement and user access arrangements
  • Eligible jurisdictions, user restrictions or regulatory status

Until those points are documented, the 77-market figure describes the demo’s announced paper-trading scope, not a verified set of markets available for real-money trading.
