Shackmaps’ free Nasdara interactive map, introduced by Shacknews on October 15, 2026, gives DayZ players a searchable browser map for military bases, loot buildings, heli-crash possibilities, vehicles, water, animals, events and other points of interest. It combines satellite and in-game paper views with coordinates, grid references, distance measurement and optional local mission-file loading.
What the Shackmaps Nasdara map does
The map is a browser-based planning and navigation tool for DayZ’s Nasdara terrain. Searchable pins let you look up a location or category instead of scanning the entire island. You can switch between a satellite view and an in-game paper-style view, inspect 3D building previews, read coordinates and grid references, and measure the distance between two points.
Shacknews describes the project as manually maintained. Its stated aim is to add important information over time, including buildings, gear, events and threats, and the map includes a Suggest a Pin control for reporting missing or incorrect information. Manual maintenance indicates an active update process, not an independent accuracy audit, so treat the map as a planning aid rather than a guarantee that every marker matches the current server state.

NasdaraMap.com publishes the following 2026 index counts. They represent mapped locations or possible spawn points; they do not mean that every location is active simultaneously in a particular DayZ session.

| Layer | Published count | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| Military sites | 5 | Named military installations indexed on the map |
| Possible heli-crash spawn points | 86 | Potential locations, not simultaneous crashes |
| Vehicle spawn points | 333 | Indexed possible vehicle locations |
| Possible water locations | 112 | Mapped potential water sources |
| Fresh-player spawn locations | 20 | Indexed starting locations |
| Animal locations | 1,270 | Mapped animal locations |
| Crash and event markers | 328 | Indexed event or crash markers |
Military bases
The five named military sites are OKB-754, Dashtabad Airbase, Zulfiqar missile base, COP Neptune and FOB Atlas. Turn on the military layer or search a site name to use one as a route destination. Military areas are useful for high-value gear planning, but they can also be dangerous player-contact zones; the map identifies locations, not the risk level on your server.
Heli crashes, vehicles and water
Use the heli-crash layer to inspect the 86 possible locations and the vehicle layer for 333 indexed spawn points. The water layer lists 112 possible sources, which is useful when planning a long inland route. “Possible” is important: DayZ’s dynamic events, server settings and map revisions can change what is available when you arrive.

How to find loot and points of interest
- Open the Nasdara map in a current web browser.
- Use the search control to enter a building, location or category name.
- Enable the relevant loot-building, military, vehicle, water, animal or event layer.
- Switch to satellite view when terrain context matters, or paper view when you want a closer match to the in-game map.
- Select a marker to view its location details, then note its coordinates or grid reference.
- Use the distance tool to estimate a route between your current position and the destination.
The map’s loot-building layers describe building types associated with loot. They are best used to plan a search area, not to assume that a particular item will be present: DayZ loot is affected by server configuration, persistence and respawn behavior.
Using coordinates, grids and 3D previews
Coordinates provide a precise way to communicate a point, while grid references are convenient for quick callouts to teammates using the in-game map. A 3D building preview helps identify the structure you are approaching when several buildings look similar from above. Combining the paper view with a grid reference is usually the fastest way to direct a squad; satellite view and measurement are better for route planning around terrain and long crossings.

Loading a local DayZ mission file
The guide also supports loading local DayZ mission files in the browser to plot server data. The page states that these files remain in the browser tab. This can help administrators or players visualize server-specific information without treating the public pin set as a complete representation of their configuration.
- Open the mission-file loading control on the map.
- Select the relevant local DayZ mission file when your browser prompts you.
- Allow the map to parse and plot the file in the current tab.
- Verify the plotted data against your server’s current mission and configuration before sharing coordinates.
Because the file is processed in the browser tab according to the map’s guide, do not assume that it has been uploaded to a public database. Close or reload the tab to clear the session data.

How large is Nasdara?
ZEDMAPS lists Nasdara at 16.4 × 16.4 km and reports 14,734 buildings, 2,231 vehicle wrecks, 294 loot-building types, 1,102 loot items and 156 named places. Those figures come from a directory with a different counting method than Shackmaps’ layer totals. For example, a vehicle-spawn count on one service cannot be directly compared with a vehicle-wreck count on another.
| Source | Published information | Use it for |
|---|---|---|
| NasdaraMap.com | Layer indexes such as 333 vehicle spawns and 86 heli-crash possibilities | Filtering and planning specific map layers |

Accuracy, updates and practical limitations
- Pin coverage is manually maintained and can contain omissions or outdated entries.
- DayZ patches, server settings and Nasdara revisions can alter loot, events and spawn behavior.
- Indexed locations are not promises of simultaneous active spawns.
- Counts should be date-stamped; the figures above are published for 2026.
- Use Suggest a Pin to report an error or request a useful addition.
For a live session, confirm a marker in-game before committing to a long route, especially for water, vehicles and dynamic crashes. For route planning, combine the map’s distance tool with terrain-aware satellite imagery rather than relying on a straight-line distance alone.
Best Value
- 5-in-1 Connectivity: Equipped with a 4K HDMI port, a 5 Gbps USB-C data port, two 5 Gbps USB-A ports, and a USB C 100W PD-IN port. Note: The USB C 100W PD-IN port supports only charging and does not support data transfer devices such as headphones or speakers.
