Short answer: The four-game Darksiders collection needs a Windows PC with at least 4–8 GB of RAM (depending on the game), a DirectX 9–11-class graphics card, and about 89 GB of storage for all listed installations. Darksiders III has the highest minimum CPU, memory, and GPU requirements; Darksiders Warmastered Edition requires the most disk space. What the Darksiders Collection includes
Valve’s Steam listing for the Ultimate Edition bundle includes Darksiders Warmastered Edition, Darksiders II Deathinitive Edition, Darksiders III Deluxe Edition, Darksiders Genesis, and digital extras. A separate Blades & Whip bundle is identified on the Warmastered store page and includes Warmastered Edition, Deathinitive Edition, and Darksiders III Deluxe Edition.
The requirements below are the publishers’ listed Windows specifications. They identify the hardware floor and a recommended target, but they do not promise a particular frame rate, resolution, graphics preset, or loading time.

The storage figures are the amounts listed on the respective 2026 Steam pages: 36 GB for Warmastered Edition, 13 GB for Deathinitive Edition, 25 GB for Darksiders III, and 15 GB for Genesis. They are not a guarantee that an installation will use exactly that amount after updates, shader caches, save files, or the Steam client’s temporary download space.

Which game is hardest to run on a PC?
Darksiders III sets the highest hardware floor
Darksiders III is the demanding outlier in the collection. Its minimum specification calls for 8 GB of memory and a 2 GB GTX 660 or R7 370-class GPU, whereas the other entries accept 4 GB of RAM at minimum. Its recommended target rises to 16 GB of RAM and a 4 GB RX 480 or GTX 970-class card. If one computer must run every game, use Darksiders III’s recommended class as the planning target rather than the lighter requirements of the older releases.
Warmastered Edition needs the most disk space
Warmastered Edition has the largest individual storage requirement at 36 GB. Its GPU requirement is lower than Darksiders III’s, but a machine with a small SSD can run out of room sooner than expected when the other games and Steam’s download staging area are added.
Genesis and Deathinitive Edition are lighter on memory
Genesis lists 4 GB of RAM at minimum and 8 GB as recommended. Deathinitive Edition also lists 4 GB minimum and 8 GB recommended, with an older DirectX 9.0c graphics requirement. Those figures make them easier starting points for older PCs, although the minimum specifications still represent only the publisher’s baseline.

How much storage does the complete collection need?
Adding the four listed game requirements gives approximately 89 GB before patches, downloadable content, shader caches, saves, and Steam’s temporary installation files. Leave additional free space rather than filling a drive to its limit; Steam may need room to unpack updates even when the final installed game is smaller than the download workspace.

If space is tight, install one title at a time and remove completed games through Steam’s storage manager. Keep the operating system and Steam library on a drive with free working space; a drive that only barely meets the combined figure can still fail during an update.
Can your Windows PC run the collection?
1. Identify the slowest required component
Check your processor model, installed memory, graphics card, graphics memory, Windows edition, and available disk space. On Windows, press Win, type System Information for the CPU and operating-system details, and open Task Manager > Performance to see memory and GPU information. Compare the exact GPU model and VRAM, not just a family name such as “GTX” or “Radeon.”

2. Compare against the minimum table
A system should meet every minimum item for the specific game. Meeting the CPU requirement while missing graphics memory, for example, does not make the system compliant. Laptop GPUs can use the same model number as desktop parts while delivering different performance, so treat the published model as a compatibility reference rather than a frame-rate promise.
3. Use the recommended column for a four-game target
For a single machine intended to play all four releases, check it against the recommended specification for Darksiders III, then confirm that the remaining games have enough storage. This approach gives the largest margin for newer rendering workloads in the collection without claiming a guaranteed preset or frame rate.
4. Update the software stack
Install current graphics drivers offered for your GPU, apply pending Windows updates that your system supports, and allow Steam to finish shader processing after installation. These actions can resolve launch and rendering problems, but they cannot compensate for hardware below a game’s minimum requirement.

Install and check the current rating
- Open Steam on the Deck and search for the individual Darksiders game, not only the bundle page.
- On the store page, read the current Steam Deck compatibility badge and its details.
- Install the game to internal storage or a fast, healthy microSD card with room beyond the listed requirement.
- After installation, let Steam complete downloads and shader processing before judging startup behavior.
If a game does not launch
- Open
Library, select the game, chooseSettings(the gear icon), thenProperties. - Use
Installed Files > Verify integrity of game filesand wait for the check to finish. - Return to
Properties > Compatibilityand review the available Proton choices. If the game is not forcing a compatibility tool, test the default SteamOS selection first; if that fails, try another version offered in the menu. - Restart the Deck after changing the compatibility tool, then test from a fresh launch.
There is no single Proton version or universal launch configuration established for all four games, so a setting that helps one title should not be assumed to apply to the others.

Steam support surfaces a community guide titled “FIX cutscene skipping on Steam Deck.” That report indicates that some players may need additional cutscene troubleshooting even though Warmastered Edition appears in Valve’s Verified Games bundle listing. Use the guide available from the game’s Steam community hub, and recheck the game after SteamOS or Proton updates because community fixes can become unnecessary or change over time.

If controls, text, or display behavior is wrong
- Switch temporarily between handheld and docked display modes and relaunch so the game can recreate its display state.
- Test with the default controller layout before adding custom bindings; this separates a game issue from an input-profile issue.
- Keep the Deck and the game updated, then retest after a full restart rather than relying only on sleep/wake.
What the Verified label does—and does not—tell you
A Verified badge is useful evidence that Valve’s testing criteria were met at the time of review. It does not state which graphics preset to use, how long the battery will last, or what performance you will see in every scene. Updates to SteamOS, Proton, drivers, or a game can alter behavior. Conversely, a missing badge is not proof that a game cannot run: it means the exact compatibility status is not established by the listing reviewed here.
Buying and installation checklist
- Decide whether you need all four games or only a subset; the full set’s listed storage total is about 89 GB before overhead.
- For Windows, compare every component with the game-specific minimum, then use Darksiders III’s recommended class when choosing one PC for the entire collection.
- On Steam Deck, open each individual store page and read the current compatibility details rather than relying only on a bundle badge.
- Reserve free disk space for updates and Steam’s temporary files.
- Update SteamOS, graphics drivers where applicable, and game files before troubleshooting.
- Remember that requirements and compatibility classifications can change; check the live Steam listing at the time of purchase.
Bottom line for different hardware
Older Windows desktop or laptop
Start with Deathinitive Edition or Genesis only if the machine meets their complete minimum specifications. Do not infer that one older title’s success means Darksiders III will run acceptably; its minimum CPU, memory, and GPU requirements are materially higher.
Modern mainstream gaming PC
A system that meets Darksiders III’s recommended specification should have the broadest hardware headroom for the collection, subject to the usual differences between desktop and laptop components and the absence of a guaranteed performance target.

Deathinitive Edition has the clearest official Verified status. Warmastered Edition and Genesis are represented in Valve’s Verified Games bundle listing, with Warmastered carrying a community cutscene-troubleshooting lead. Darksiders III needs a live store-page check because the reviewed official listing did not expose an individual rating.
