Watch Daniel Craig’s five James Bond films in this order: Casino Royale (2006) → Quantum of Solace (2008) → Skyfall (2012) → Spectre (2015) → No Time to Die (2021). This is both release order and the practical story order for Craig’s rebooted continuity. Start with Casino Royale; watch Quantum of Solace immediately afterward, and save No Time to Die for last.
The five Daniel Craig Bond movies in order
Craig’s run is a self-contained five-film sequence rather than a random selection of missions. The films were released in the same order in which their story is meant to be experienced. Watching chronologically therefore requires no rearrangement:

Why release order is also the story order
Casino Royale establishes this version of Bond before the later films build on his experiences, relationships and unfinished conflicts. Quantum of Solace is not a side story: it is the direct second chapter and works best while the events of the first film are still fresh.

Skyfall is more self-contained than the first two entries, which can make it feel like a standalone spy thriller. It still belongs to the same timeline, however, and later films assume you understand the version of Bond introduced in the reboot.
Spectre places greater emphasis on the SPECTRE organization and uses recurring institutional threads from the preceding films. No Time to Die then functions as the finale to this particular five-film arc. Watching it earlier removes much of its intended sense of consequence.
Film-by-film guide
1. Casino Royale (2006): the correct starting point
This is Craig’s first appearance as Bond and the continuity’s origin story. It presents a Bond who is still establishing himself as a double-0 agent, so you do not need any knowledge of earlier actors or the pre-reboot films.
As a first film, it performs two jobs: it introduces the character and sets up the emotional and organizational material that later entries revisit. If you are testing whether modern Bond is for you, this remains the most informative single-film sample because it explains the reboot instead of assuming a long history.
2. Quantum of Solace (2008): watch it directly after Casino Royale
Quantum of Solace is the immediate follow-up. Its story is shaped by unresolved consequences from Casino Royale, making the handoff between the two films more direct than the transitions that follow.

Do not treat the two-year release gap as evidence that the films are unrelated. If you have just finished Casino Royale, continue with Quantum of Solace before jumping to Skyfall. Skipping it means losing part of the cause-and-effect chain that explains Bond’s position in the next chapters.
3. Skyfall (2012): a more self-contained legacy drama
Skyfall is the third Craig film. It can be enjoyed on its own more easily than Quantum of Solace, but it is still a continuation of the rebooted Bond rather than a separate version.
Its emphasis is legacy and the pressures surrounding an established agent. That change in tone gives the five-film sequence variety without breaking continuity. Watching the first two films first supplies the character context that makes this chapter’s examination of Bond’s place in the service more meaningful.
4. Spectre (2015): the mythology-heavy fourth chapter
Spectre is the fourth entry and foregrounds the SPECTRE mythology. It reaches back to organizations and ideas threaded through the earlier Craig films, so its connective material has greater impact when you have followed the sequence in order.
You can technically understand its basic mission without every preceding detail, but that is a lower-value way to watch it. If you are considering a skip because of time, know that doing so removes context that No Time to Die expects you to carry forward.

5. No Time to Die (2021): save the finale for last
No Time to Die is the fifth and latest Craig film. It is designed as the closing chapter of this run, so watch it after the other four even if you have seen individual Bond films before.

The next screen incarnation of Bond can belong to a different continuity and actor.
Where to start if you are new to Bond
If you want the complete modern-Bond experience
Begin with Casino Royale and watch all five films consecutively. This preserves the development of Bond’s character, the relationships that carry between entries and the recurring organization threads.
If you only have time to try one film
Choose Casino Royale. It is the entry that establishes the reboot and does not require familiarity with earlier Bond movies. Starting with Skyfall is also possible for a more self-contained experience, but it gives you less of the origin and serialized setup.
If you can watch only two
Casino Royale and Skyfall are the strongest critical starting pair among the five according to the published Rotten Tomatoes figures below. This abbreviated route samples the origin and the legacy-focused middle of the run, but it leaves gaps in the ongoing story. It is not a substitute for watching Quantum of Solace, Spectre and No Time to Die when you want the complete arc.

If you have already watched Casino Royale
Watch Quantum of Solace next. Moving directly to Skyfall is the most common ordering mistake because it skips the direct sequel.
Can you skip a film?
There is no required alternate order, but skipping has different consequences depending on the film:
- Skip Casino Royale: you lose the reboot’s foundation and begin without the origin context.
- Skip Quantum of Solace: you remove the direct aftermath chapter between the origin and Skyfall.
- Skip Skyfall: you miss the run’s major legacy-focused installment and arrive at Spectre without one of the central Craig-era chapters.
- Skip Spectre: you lose much of the SPECTRE mythology and connective tissue carried into the finale.
- Skip No Time to Die: you have not completed Craig’s five-film story.
If your goal is simply one enjoyable spy movie, a skip is a personal choice. If your goal is to understand the serialized Craig continuity, watch all five in order.

The scores explain why many newcomers hear Casino Royale and Skyfall recommended first. They do not change the practical order. A lower-rated middle chapter can still contain story information that later films use.

How to watch the collection today
Amazon’s Prime Video product page lists a Daniel Craig Collection containing all five films. That listing is a convenient way to look for the complete run, but availability is not universal: rental or purchase options, subscription requirements, pricing and regional rights can change.
Amazon’s editorial guide also describes individual Bond films as rentable or purchasable on Prime Video and mentions an MGM+ collection containing all 25 Bond films. The guide’s quoted £5.99-per-month price is UK-specific and should not be assumed to apply elsewhere. Check the storefront for your country before subscribing or paying for a title.
- Confirm that the listing includes all five Craig films rather than a single-film rental.
- Check whether each title is included with your subscription or carries a separate rental or purchase charge.
- Verify audio, subtitle and age-rating information for your region.
- Do not assume that a collection available today will remain available after a licensing change.
What to watch after Casino Royale
The immediate next film is Quantum of Solace, not Skyfall. That choice preserves the direct continuation and avoids a continuity jump.
After Quantum of Solace, continue to Skyfall, then Spectre, and finish with No Time to Die. Once you complete the Craig sequence, you can explore the older Bond eras in their own release orders. Those films are not prerequisites for understanding Craig’s reboot.
