Daily Red is a free, browser-based Pokémon battle challenge—not a Pokémon-name guessing game. Each day, everyone receives the same six level-100 Pokémon and gets one counted attempt to defeat Red. The format borrows Wordle’s shared daily puzzle, streak and shareable-result ideas, but you win by choosing moves and switches in battle.
What is Daily Red?
On the primary version at daily-red.com, you fight a fixed Red team using six randomly selected level-100 Pokémon from Generations 1–3. The team is shared by all players for that date, so discussing the day’s solution does not involve guessing a hidden Pokémon name. The site describes its battle engine as based on Pokémon Showdown’s simulator and Generation 3 rules.
Daily Red is an unofficial fan project and says it is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Creatures Inc., GAME FREAK inc. or The Pokémon Company. No cartridge, console, emulator or paid guide is required.

- Open the game page. Visit daily-red.com in a modern browser. No account or installation is required.
- Check the shared team. The page shows that day’s six level-100 Pokémon, selected from Generations 1–3.
- Choose your lead. Pick which of your six Pokémon starts the fight. Red always opens with Pikachu.
- Select moves or switch. Choose an available move or change Pokémon each turn. Switching costs a turn, so do it when the defensive or matchup benefit justifies losing an attack.
- Use your official attempt. You receive one battle that counts toward the daily result and streak.
- Practice afterward. Once the official battle is over, you can run unlimited practice battles. Practice does not change the streak.
If you leave during the official battle, daily-red.com says the battle waits rather than giving you a second counted attempt. The next challenge unlocks at midnight in your local time zone. Progress, wins and streak data are saved in that browser on that device, without an account.
#1 Best Overall
Red’s fixed team and the key matchups
Red’s lineup is fixed: Pikachu, Espeon, Snorlax, Venusaur, Charizard and Blastoise. Pikachu leads every daily battle, so your opening choice has an unusually large effect on the first turns.
Against Pikachu: consider a Ground lead
Ground-type Pokémon take no damage from Electric moves. A Ground lead can therefore deny Pikachu’s main type advantage, although you still need to account for the specific moves and stats in your assigned team.

- 3 complete Pokémon TCG decks (60 cards each)
- Each deck includes a powerful special Pokémon: Cinderace V, Pikachu V, or Eevee V
- Eevee deck includes 2 copies of an all-new promo card featuring Galarian Obstagoon
- 1 instruction sheet to help you set up to play
- 2 tutorial guides to lead you through the decks
Against Charizard: Rock attacks are especially valuable
Charizard is both Fire- and Flying-type, making it weak to Rock. The game’s strategy notes specifically call out Rock Slide as four-times effective when it connects with Charizard.

Against Snorlax: favor physical damage
According to the game page, Snorlax’s Defense is lower than its Special Defense, and Fighting moves are super effective. Physical Fighting attacks are therefore a natural answer when your team provides one.

- Get charged up with Miraidon ex and Regieleki VMAX!
- With a well-tuned set of Pokémon and Trainer cards, this League Battle Deck puts together all the elements to support you in your next match!

Against Espeon: use its suggested weaknesses
The page recommends Dark-, Ghost- or Bug-type moves against Espeon. Preserve a Pokémon with one of those options if Espeon threatens to sweep your remaining team.
Remember the Generation 3 rule set
Daily Red describes its rules as Generation 3. In that generation, whether a move is physical or special is determined by its type, unlike later games where individual moves have their own categories. A move that behaves differently in a newer Pokémon title may therefore perform differently here.
Rank #4
- Pokémon TCG: Team Rocket’s Mewtwo ex League Battle Deck comes with 1 ready-to-play 60-card deck, 6 damage-counter dice, and a 1 coin-flip die.
- This also comes with 2 coin condition markers, a deck box, and a strategy sheet
- You will also get a code card for Pokémon TCG Live.
Daily Red compared with another site using the same name
dailyredgame.org is a separate implementation, not an alternate page of the same service. Do not combine its instructions with daily-red.com’s rules.
| Feature | daily-red.com | dailyredgame.org |
|---|---|---|
| Identity | Primary version covered in this guide; browser game with its own engine based on Showdown and Generation 3 rules | Separate site using the Daily Red name and different battle controls |
| Leaving or refreshing | The official battle waits if you leave mid-battle | The site says a recorded attempt can resume after leaving or refreshing |
| Practice | Unlimited practice after the daily battle; practice does not affect the streak | Rules are not the same as the primary version |
| Instructions | Follow the steps in this article | Use that site’s own controls and explanations |
A 12 October 2026 report from Held Games said the original amoi-builds project was withdrawn or archived and distinguished it from other hosted versions. That report does not establish that daily-red.com is unavailable; the primary page was accessible when checked. Availability can change, so use the site address itself rather than assuming every Daily Red-branded page is the same project.

Is Daily Red free, and do you need an account?
For daily-red.com, access is free, browser-based and account-free. There is no installation step and no physical product to buy. The trade-off is that your streak is stored locally in the browser on your device: clearing site data, changing browsers or moving to another device may prevent that local progress from appearing there.
When does the next Daily Red battle unlock?
The next team becomes available at midnight in your local time zone. If the new challenge does not appear, confirm your device’s time zone and refresh the page. Because the game saves in local browser storage, opening it in a different browser or device can also show different progress.
Can you play more than once a day?
You get one official battle per day on daily-red.com. After completing it, unlimited practice runs are available and do not alter the official result or streak. Treat practice as a way to test leads, switches and move order, not as additional counted attempts.

Why the Wordle comparison is useful—and limited
The comparison describes the schedule and social format: one shared puzzle each day, a streak and a result you can share. It does not describe the task itself. Daily Red has no word grid and does not ask you to identify Pokémon names; the outcome depends on battle decisions, type matchups and turn economy.
