For tree or foliage glitches in Cyberpunk 2077 on Windows PC, first record your game and driver versions, then update or clean-install the graphics driver and verify the game files in your launcher. Before changing anything, record when and where the glitch appears

- Note the game version shown on the main menu or in your launcher.
- Record your GPU model and graphics-driver version.
- Write down the location, what the trees look like, and any conditions that reliably trigger the issue.
- Note whether you use mods, trainers, or console commands, and whether the problem occurs in a particular playthrough or save.
- Record whether you have Phantom Liberty.
These details help distinguish a problem tied to one save or location from a broader graphics issue. CD PROJEKT RED’s visual-issue guidance asks players to check their drivers before reporting; its support form collects information such as platform, game version, playthrough context, and mod status.
Update or clean-install your graphics driver
Install the current driver for your GPU from its manufacturer. CD PROJEKT RED recommends updating graphics drivers before reporting visual issues and provides clean-install guidance for NVIDIA, AMD, and Intel. If the artifacts began immediately after a driver update, the publisher’s performance guidance says to install the previous driver version and report the issue. Change one thing at a time so you can tell whether the driver change affected the glitch.
Verify the game files in your launcher
CD PROJEKT RED notes that corrupted game files can cause glitched graphics. Use the verification or repair function for the launcher where your copy is installed. The listed paths are:

Relaunch and test the same scene
After the driver and file checks, restart the game and revisit the location under the same conditions you recorded. If you can, also load an earlier save from before the glitch started. Testing the same scene makes it easier to tell whether the problem changed; an earlier save can help establish whether it is tied to a particular save state.

If basic troubleshooting does not help, CD PROJEKT RED’s visual-issue guidance includes reinstalling the game and trying an earlier save. Reinstalling is a more disruptive step, so try it only after updating the driver and verifying the files.

The game’s requirements vary by resolution and graphics mode, including standard rendering, ray tracing, and Overdrive/Path Tracing. CD PROJEKT RED says its Update 2.0 requirements apply to both the base game and Phantom Liberty; check the current official system requirements against your PC if compatibility is in question. Those requirements are context, not a diagnosis of tree artifacts.
The publisher describes Overdrive and Path Tracing as GPU-intensive, with separate VRAM thresholds for Path-Traced Photo Mode by resolution. That information matters if you use those modes, but it does not establish that changing a graphics setting will fix a foliage glitch. The official material cited here does not document a universal tree-specific fix.
