Cancel CyberGhost through the company or store that bills you, then request any eligible refund separately. A cancellation stops future renewal; it does not automatically return a past payment. For a direct CyberGhost purchase, its current terms state a 14-day money-back period for one-month plans and 45 days for plans of six months or longer. Apple, Google Play, Amazon, and other sellers use their own billing and refund processes.
Find the seller that bills your subscription
Start with the receipt or the billing account shown on your payment. That seller determines where to turn off renewal and who decides a refund. CyberGhost’s account steps apply to purchases made directly on its website; store-billed subscriptions must be managed through the relevant store.
| Purchase channel | Where to cancel | Who handles a refund request | Does CyberGhost’s money-back guarantee apply? |
|---|---|---|---|
| CyberGhost website | CyberGhost account: profile menu → Subscriptions → Cancel Subscription | CyberGhost support | Yes, subject to the applicable plan window and terms |
| Apple App Store | Apple account subscription settings | Apple Support | No; Apple’s terms and refund decisions apply |
| Google Play | Play Store subscription settings | Start with the billing account on your receipt; app-store purchases are subject to the store’s terms and decisions | No; Google Play’s terms and refund decisions apply |
| Amazon Appstore | Amazon account or support | Amazon support | No; Amazon’s terms and refund decisions apply |
| Physical gift card or another third-party seller | The seller’s account or support channel | The seller | CyberGhost’s guarantee does not cover these purchases |
CyberGhost’s Terms identify exceptions for purchases through Amazon, Apple App Store, and Google Play, while its cancellation guidance and purchase-channel guidance direct customers to the relevant billing route.
Cancel a direct CyberGhost subscription
- Sign in to your CyberGhost account.
- Open the profile menu and select Subscriptions.
- Select Cancel Subscription.
- Choose Continue To Cancel and complete the confirmation steps.
- Check the subscription status to verify that automatic billing is off, and note the next renewal date shown in your account.
CyberGhost says a canceled subscription remains usable until the paid period ends. Its support page advises canceling before midnight on the renewal date to prevent the next recurring charge. Check the date and cancellation status promptly in your own account, since account interfaces and renewal details can change. See CyberGhost’s cancellation instructions.

Cancel through Apple, Google Play, or Amazon
iPhone, iPad, or Mac
For an Apple-billed subscription, cancel in Apple’s subscription settings on an iPhone or iPad, or in the App Store account subscription settings on a Mac. Contact Apple Support for a refund request; CyberGhost says Apple-billed plans follow Apple’s refund policy. The exact labels can differ by device and software version, so use the subscription settings associated with the Apple account that made the purchase. CyberGhost’s refund guidance covers the store-billing distinction.
Google Play
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile icon.
- Go to Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- Select CyberGhost, tap Manage, then Cancel Subscription.
- Confirm the cancellation and check the subscription status in Google Play.
Canceling stops future renewal but does not refund earlier payments. CyberGhost’s materials direct app-store purchases to the store for billing and refunds, while its refund page also says requests may be raised with CyberGhost support under its policy. If it is unclear who is responsible for a particular payment, start with the billing account shown on the receipt. See CyberGhost’s refund instructions.

These are policy windows, not a promise that every request will be approved. CyberGhost’s terms instruct customers to terminate within the applicable period and contact support to request a refund. A cancellation alone does not submit that request. The stated windows do not establish a guarantee for plans with other durations; check the terms that apply to your purchase.
Request the refund separately
Direct website purchase
After canceling, contact CyberGhost support and ask for a refund within the applicable term window. Include the account or order details needed to identify the charge. The company explicitly says that canceling does not automatically refund the subscription; see its refund guidance.

Store or third-party purchase
Submit the request through the seller responsible for the charge. Apple, Google Play, and Amazon decide app-store refund requests under their own policies; CyberGhost does not promise an outcome for those requests. For a physical gift card or another third-party sale, contact that seller about its refund policy.
If you were charged after canceling
First identify which seller processed the charge, then check that seller’s account for the cancellation status and renewal date. If the account shows automatic renewal is off but a later charge still appears, contact the billing seller with the charge date, receipt, and cancellation confirmation. A CyberGhost website payment goes to CyberGhost support; an Apple, Google Play, Amazon, or other third-party payment goes to that seller’s support channel. If the account still shows renewal enabled, cancel there and retain the confirmation.
