Short answer: Nintendo currently lists the Nintendo Switch version of Cult of the Lamb as supported on Nintendo Switch 2, but its store information does not identify a separate Cult of the Lamb Nintendo Switch 2 Edition or say that a Switch 2 upgrade includes every DLC pack. DLC remains listed as separate products.
If you already bought digital DLC, including Woolhaven, Nintendo’s account-entitlement rules indicate that you should be able to redownload it at no additional cost with the Nintendo Account that made the purchase. That is different from receiving DLC you never bought as part of an upgrade. The title-specific upgrade price, whether an upgrade pack is free, and any bundled-DLC terms have not been officially stated on the pages currently available.

What Nintendo currently confirms about Cult of the Lamb on Switch 2
The Switch version is marked as supported
Nintendo’s current store listing identifies Cult of the Lamb as a Nintendo Switch game and labels its Nintendo Switch 2 compatibility Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch. That wording confirms that the existing Switch release is intended to run on the newer console. It does not, by itself, describe a performance patch, a new graphics mode, a paid upgrade pack, or a new edition.

DLC is shown as separate products
Nintendo’s DLC catalog lists Woolhaven, the Unholy Pack Bundle, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, and combinations of those products separately from the base game. A separate listing means each item has its own store product and entitlement. It does not establish that an upgrade to the base game automatically grants every listed add-on.
The catalog structure also matters if you are checking a purchase history. Look for the individual DLC product, rather than assuming that ownership of the base game means ownership of all add-ons.
Why “supported on Switch 2” is not the same as a Switch 2 Edition
Nintendo’s general edition definition
Nintendo’s support guidance describes a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition as a bundle containing the original Nintendo Switch game and an upgrade pack. The upgrade pack can enhance a game to use Switch 2 capabilities, but Nintendo says the contents vary by game. The general policy is not a title-specific promise that every compatible Switch game receives such an edition.

What the compatibility label does and does not tell you
- It does tell you: Nintendo expects the existing Switch game to run on Switch 2 with behavior described as consistent with the Switch version.
- It does not tell you: that the game has Switch 2-specific visual or performance enhancements.
- It does not tell you: that a paid or free upgrade pack exists.
- It does not tell you: that unpurchased DLC is bundled.
- It does not tell you: which previously purchased add-ons are recognized until your owning account is checked.
Will DLC you already bought transfer to Switch 2?
Digital DLC bought with the same Nintendo Account
Nintendo’s digital-content support says that when the eShop shows Virtual Game Cards or redownload language for a DLC item, that item was purchased by the Nintendo Account being used and can be redownloaded at no cost. This is the relevant rule for an owner moving from a Switch console to a Switch 2 console.
Use the same Nintendo Account that purchased Cult of the Lamb or its add-ons. If the DLC appears as owned or available to redownload, you should not need to purchase that same entitlement again. The rule applies to DLC you already own; it is not a license for every product in the game’s catalog.
Redownload entitlement versus an upgrade bundle
These are two different questions:
- Can I access content I paid for? Nintendo’s account-redownload guidance supports access to previously purchased digital games and DLC when the owning account is used.
- Will the upgrade give me DLC I never purchased? No current title-specific statement confirms that. The general Switch 2 policy says upgrade-pack contents vary by game, so the answer must come from the Cult of the Lamb product page or an announcement that explicitly lists included content.
For example, owning the base game does not, on the evidence currently available, establish ownership of Woolhaven, the cosmetic packs, or any bundle that was sold separately. Conversely, already owning Woolhaven should be treated as an account entitlement to verify and redownload, not as proof that a future upgrade includes the expansion for customers who never bought it.
What if you use a different account?
Digital ownership is associated with the Nintendo Account that made the purchase. Signing in with another account can make a legitimately purchased DLC item appear unavailable even when the console is the same. Before buying again, switch to the purchasing account and check the eShop or Virtual Game Cards for the specific add-on.

What Woolhaven means for the Switch 2 question
Massive Monster describes Woolhaven as “a brand new story expansion DLC for Cult of the Lamb, available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation.” It released on January 27, 2026. The description establishes that the expansion is available on Nintendo Switch and is separate story content; it does not state that a Switch 2 upgrade includes it.
If you purchased Woolhaven for Switch, check the add-on’s ownership status with the same Nintendo Account after moving to Switch 2. A redownload option supports your existing purchase. If you did not buy it, do not expect the console’s compatibility status alone to unlock it.
Is the Cult of the Lamb Switch 2 upgrade free?
No official title-specific page currently states the price of an upgrade for Cult of the Lamb, whether an upgrade pack exists, or whether the price is zero. Nintendo’s general policy explains what a Switch 2 Edition can contain, but it does not set one universal price or entitlement rule for every game.

- The existing Switch game may simply run as a compatible title, with no separately sold upgrade pack.
- Massive Monster or Nintendo may later publish an upgrade pack with a stated price and specific enhancements.
- A future edition may bundle the base game and selected content, but only the product listing can establish which DLC is included.
Social-media posts claiming a free upgrade or automatic inclusion of all DLC should be considered unconfirmed until an official Nintendo or Massive Monster announcement gives the exact terms.
How to check your entitlement before buying anything
Use this process on your Switch 2, or on the Nintendo eShop website or console interface available to your account. Menu wording can change by region and software version, so treat the product page’s current ownership and redownload labels as the decisive evidence.
- Sign in to the purchasing Nintendo Account. Confirm the account profile before opening the store. A family member’s account or a newly created profile may not show your purchases.
- Open the Nintendo eShop and find the Cult of the Lamb listing. Read the title-specific description rather than relying on a generic Switch 2 compatibility badge.
- Look for an edition or upgrade-pack entry. If Nintendo publishes one, record its price, the original game included, stated enhancements, and any wording about DLC.
- Open each owned add-on’s product page. Check Woolhaven and any packs you bought. An owned, Virtual Game Card, or redownload indication is evidence that the account can obtain that item again without paying a second time.
- Compare the catalog with your purchase history. The separate DLC listings include Woolhaven, Unholy Pack Bundle, Pilgrim Pack, Cultist Pack, Heretic Pack, Sinful Pack, and bundle combinations. Mark only the products your account actually purchased.
- Read the final purchase screen. Before confirming payment, verify whether the item is an upgrade pack, the base game, a DLC product, or a bundle. Check the region, currency, and included-content text shown for your account.
- Redownload owned content after installation. Launch the base game, then confirm that the add-on appears as installed or available in the game’s downloadable-content area. If it does not, close and reopen the software after the redownload completes.
What you should expect in common ownership situations
| Situation | What is established | What still needs checking |
|---|---|---|
| You own the digital Switch game and digital DLC on the same Nintendo Account | Nintendo’s redownload guidance supports obtaining previously purchased digital games and DLC again at no cost. | Whether the title has a separate Switch 2 upgrade pack and whether it adds enhancements. |
| You own the base game but never bought a DLC pack | The base-game purchase does not, by itself, establish ownership of separately listed DLC. | Whether a future Switch 2 bundle explicitly includes that pack. |
| You own Woolhaven | Woolhaven is a paid story expansion available on Nintendo Switch and released January 27, 2026. | Confirm that the purchasing account shows the expansion as owned or redownloadable on Switch 2. |
| You see only “Supported – Game behavior is consistent with Nintendo Switch” | The existing Switch release is listed as compatible with Switch 2. | No Switch 2 Edition, upgrade price, or DLC-inclusion promise is established by that label. |
| You bought DLC with another Nintendo Account | The other account remains the relevant purchaser for digital redownload entitlement. | Sign in with that account and verify the add-on instead of purchasing it again. |
| You have a physical copy of the base game | The store listing still describes the Switch release as supported on Switch 2. | Check the account that owns each digital DLC item and follow the product page’s installation instructions. |
Troubleshooting when DLC does not appear
The add-on asks you to pay again
Stop before completing the purchase. Verify that the console is connected to the Nintendo Account used for the original transaction, then reopen the individual DLC page. Check Virtual Game Cards or the eShop’s redownload indication. If the account is correct but the purchase is still missing, compare the region of the original purchase with the current eShop region and consult Nintendo’s digital-purchase support.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →The game launches but the expansion is not active
Confirm that the DLC download finished and that the base game is updated. Close the game completely, restart the console, and launch it again from the account that owns the add-on. An installed file is not necessarily active while a download is incomplete, and a DLC product can remain unavailable when the wrong account is signed in.

You expected new Switch 2 enhancements
A compatibility label promises consistent game behavior, not a particular frame rate, resolution, loading-time improvement, or new mode. Look for a separately named Switch 2 Edition or upgrade-pack description. If none appears, the official information does not support assuming technical enhancements.
A bundle contains some packs but not others
Read the bundle’s included-products list. Nintendo’s catalog contains individual packs and combinations, so ownership of one bundle should not be generalized to every DLC product. Use the exact product names in your purchase history when checking what can be redownloaded.
A practical decision rule before you spend money
- If you already own the game and DLC: sign in with the purchasing account and check redownload access first. Do not repurchase an add-on that the eShop identifies as owned.
- If you own only the base game: wait for explicit edition wording before assuming an upgrade includes DLC. Separately listed products remain separate purchases unless the listing says otherwise.
- If you are buying the game for the first time: compare the base-game listing with any Switch 2 Edition or bundle listing and read the included-content section before checkout.
- If the price or entitlement is unclear: treat it as unresolved. Nintendo and Massive Monster have not published, in the information currently available, a Cult of the Lamb-specific upgrade price or an all-DLC inclusion statement.
Bottom line for Cult of the Lamb owners
Cult of the Lamb is currently listed as a Nintendo Switch game supported on Switch 2, with behavior described as consistent with the Switch version. Nintendo lists its DLC as separate products. Previously purchased digital DLC should remain available to redownload through the Nintendo Account that bought it, but that account entitlement is not the same as getting every unpurchased DLC pack in a Switch 2 upgrade. Check the exact eShop listing immediately before paying, because the upgrade’s price, edition status, included enhancements, and regional availability can change.
