CtrlS Datacenters has inaugurated a data centre in Patna and announced plans for a separate, 150 MW hyperscale AI factory in Bodh Gaya, Bihar. The Patna facility represents a reported ₹400-crore investment and has 12 MW of current capacity; the Bodh Gaya project carries a planned investment of ₹10,000 crore.
What CtrlS announced in Bihar
The announcement, reported by Reuters on 13 October 2026, covers two facilities in different cities and at different stages. The Patna data centre has been inaugurated. The Bodh Gaya AI factory is planned: CtrlS signed a letter of intent with the Bihar government for the proposed project.
That distinction matters. The inauguration means the Patna site has reached an operational milestone, while a letter of intent is not the same as a completed factory or a published construction schedule. CtrlS said the Bodh Gaya facility “will support the digital infrastructure needs of government institutions, companies and hyperscalers in Bihar and eastern India.”

MW, or megawatts, describes capacity; it does not by itself tell readers how many servers a facility will contain, which customers will use it, or how much computing work it will deliver. The 150 MW figure is the planned capacity for Bodh Gaya, not a description of the Patna site.

What is known about Patna’s capacity and design
Reuters reported 12 MW of current capacity at the inaugurated Patna data centre. CtrlS’s undated Patna facility page lists two Edge data centres: Edge DC 1 at 0.50 MW IT load and Edge DC 2 at 11.6 MW IT load. Those listed loads total 12.1 MW, close to Reuters’ rounded 12 MW figure. The available disclosures do not explain the difference or specify whether the figures use identical measurement boundaries.
There is also an earlier Patna project announcement to distinguish. In 2025, CtrlS described a ₹400-crore greenfield Edge project with 10 MW of IT load. The later inauguration report gives 12 MW current capacity, while the facility page lists the two sites’ loads separately. These disclosures show different figures, but do not establish whether the earlier 10 MW description referred to an initial phase, a narrower project scope or a different basis of measurement. They should not be treated as interchangeable without further detail.

CtrlS describes the Patna infrastructure as AI- and cloud-ready, carrier-neutral and designed to support low-latency regional service. Carrier-neutral means the facility is described as supporting connectivity from multiple carriers rather than relying on a single network provider. The published material does not identify specific customers, network operators or performance measurements.

When will the Bodh Gaya AI factory be ready?
No completion date or construction timetable was published in the material available for the 13 October 2026 announcement. The announced ₹10,000-crore investment and 150 MW capacity therefore describe the planned project, not capacity already operating in Bodh Gaya. No customer roster or job total was disclosed either.

Fact check: Bodh Gaya is not the Telangana project
CtrlS also announced a separate ₹10,000-crore project in Telangana in 2025. Invest Telangana described that project at 400 MW. It is not the Bodh Gaya proposal: the Bihar announcement is for a planned 150 MW AI factory in Bodh Gaya. The shared investment figure does not make them the same project.
