In CSR2, a Collections Cup lock-in is a real commitment: after you choose a qualified car, Zynga says you cannot replace it with another car, and that car enters multiple races. Collections unlock at player level 60, while Collection cars require Car Credits that can be earned through play or bought in the Marketplace. The safest choice depends on the exact Collection Cup, your eligible garage, unfinished tasks and other events—not on a universally “best” supercar.
What CSR2 Collections are and when they unlock
Collections is a persistent CSR2 progression feature rather than a single limited-time race. Zynga Player Support says it unlocks at player level 60. If the feature does not appear after reaching that level, the support guidance is to force-close the game and update the app. Because menus and requirements can change with app releases, check the current in-game instructions after restarting.
Each Collection groups eligible cars around a theme or manufacturer. The September 2024 feature announcement describes two ways a Collection can become available: reaching its required Collection Rank or acquiring any car from that Collection. Once a Collection is accessible, its cars are acquired with Car Credits.

Car Credits are the currency used to obtain cars in Collections. Zynga documents two routes:

- Earn them in play. Collections Cup races are one documented source. The feature announcement also identifies events such as Showdowns as possible earning opportunities.
- Buy them in the Marketplace. Zynga also offers optional in-app purchases for credits. Store contents and pricing can vary by region and can change over time.
Spending money is therefore not presented as a requirement for making a lock-in decision. Before buying credits, check whether an upcoming race, Showdown or task can supply what you need and whether the car is actually eligible for the Collection you intend to complete.
Collection ranks, Rookie Tasks and Veteran Tasks
Acquiring a car is only the first part of Collection progression. The feature is built around tasks that continue after the initial purchase.
Rookie Tasks
The official launch announcement defines the Rookie Task as: “Acquire and lock the car into the Collection.” In practical terms, the first lock-in is tied to putting a qualified car into its Collection, not merely owning that car in your garage.
Veteran Tasks
Veteran Tasks require additional, car-specific actions after the Rookie step. Zynga describes them as performing certain tasks with the car to unlock additional rewards. Completing a Veteran Task gives that car a permanent Respect Points boost, so finishing the follow-up work can matter even after the Collection Cup itself is over.
Rewards for ranking up and completing a Collection
Collection rank-ups can award Keys, Cash, Gold or Car Credits. Collections also provide permanent Collection Perks that improve progression. Completing every car and all Veteran Tasks in a Collection awards an exclusive profile sticker. Those benefits make the initial lock-in one step in a longer progression path rather than the entire objective.

What a Collections Cup lock-in actually does
For a Collections Cup, you select a qualified car before entering. Zynga Player Support states: “Once a car is locked in, you won’t be able to switch it with another car.” The same support guidance explains that each locked car participates in multiple races.
This has two consequences:
- Eligibility must be checked first. A car must appear as qualified for that specific Collection Cup; owning a similar model or another car from the same marque does not make it interchangeable.
- The choice persists across the Cup’s races. You cannot enter with one car and replace it later because another car proves faster or easier to tune.
The official material does not establish one universally optimal car. The sensible choice changes with the cars shown as eligible, your upgrade state, the tasks still open and the rest of your garage.

Collections lock-ins versus limited-time event lock-ins
“Lock-in” is not one universal CSR2 rule. A Collections Cup belongs to the persistent Collections system; a live event can publish its own entry list, number of required cars and deadline. Treat every event screen as a separate contract.

This distinction prevents a common mistake: applying a rule from a current event to Collections, or assuming that a Collection car is automatically valid for a separate live event.
A careful decision process before you commit
1. Confirm the mode
Read the race title and entry screen. Is it a Collections Cup inside the Collections feature, or a separate event with its own car list? If the mode is unclear, do not spend Car Credits or upgrade a car yet.

2. Record the eligible cars
Write down every car the game marks as qualified. Do not substitute a car because it has a higher rarity, a more powerful real-world specification or a better reputation in another race series. The qualification shown for the specific Cup is what matters.

Look at the Collection’s required rank, the Rookie Task and any Veteran Tasks. A car that advances an unfinished Collection objective may be more valuable to your account than an otherwise similar eligible car. Confirm whether the car still needs to be acquired, locked or used for a specified task.
4. Compare your actual garage state
For each eligible car, consider its current upgrades, tuning, fusion parts and driver familiarity. A theoretical performance advantage is less useful than a car you can prepare with the resources you already have. Do not treat a manufacturer’s horsepower figure or a real-world acceleration claim as a CSR2 race result.
5. Check competing commitments
Review upcoming Cups, Showdowns and Veteran Tasks before consuming scarce resources. The sources do not document a universal formula for opportunity cost, and a lock-in does not automatically prove that a car is unavailable everywhere else. The practical check is to inspect the current event lists and your task requirements so that one decision does not leave another objective underprepared.
6. Confirm the final screen
Read the confirmation text immediately before entering. If the game warns that the car will be locked and cannot be changed, treat that message as the controlling rule for that race. Capture the selected model in your own notes if you manage several similar cars.

Step-by-step: locking a car without an avoidable mistake
- Reach level 60 and open Collections. If Collections is missing, force-close CSR2, install any available update and check again.
- Open the target Collection or Cup. Verify its current rank requirement and the cars the game marks as qualified.
- Inspect each candidate car. Check ownership, upgrade readiness and whether Rookie or Veteran Tasks call for that exact car.
- Review other active and upcoming events. Note any event that lists the same car and its deadline before committing resources.
- Choose one qualified car on the entry screen. Confirm the model and the lock-in warning; do not rely on memory from another event.
- Enter only after the confirmation. Once locked, plan to use that car through the Cup’s multiple races because Zynga Support says it cannot be switched.
- Finish the associated tasks. After the Cup, complete any Veteran requirements to obtain the permanent Respect Points boost and work toward Collection rank rewards.
Current and historical event examples
Superveloce Ascension Duality
Zynga’s announcement dated October 7, 2026 described the Superveloce Ascension Duality event featuring the Lamborghini Revuelto SV. It required players to lock in two specified entry cars and complete all event races to win the prize car. The announcement listed availability through October 14, 2026. Because that end date has passed, it should be treated as a model of event-specific rules, not as a currently available opportunity.
CSR2 version 6.4.0 examples
The official 6.4.0 update page listed five Ferrari cars for the ROSSO MARANELLO Finale and two cars for APEX AEROS. Those schedules were tied to April–May 2026 and are historical. Their value now is illustrative: different events can publish different required-car lists, so an old list cannot be used to decide a current lock-in.
What to do if Collections is missing or the rules look different
- You are below level 60: the documented unlock point has not been reached.
- You reached level 60 but see no Collections tab: force-close the app, update it, reopen it and follow the current in-game instructions.
- A car does not appear as eligible: do not force the choice. Check the Collection, rank and event list again; eligibility is specific to the mode.
- The confirmation text differs from an older guide: follow the current race screen. Live events can change their rules and schedules.
- You selected the wrong car: Zynga’s documented Collections Cup rule does not provide a swap after lock-in. Continue only if the car can meet the races, or wait for the next applicable opportunity rather than assuming support can reverse it.
Paid credits, earned credits and sensible resource use
Because Car Credits can be purchased, it is easy to mistake payment for a prerequisite. Zynga’s descriptions also identify earned routes through Collections Cups and other events such as Showdowns. A paid bundle may shorten the path to a car, but it does not remove the need to verify eligibility or make an irreversible selection carefully.
Check the Marketplace in your own region for the current contents and price, and remember that offers can change. Do not buy credits merely because a car looks desirable in a separate event announcement; first confirm that it advances the Collection or Cup you are actually entering.

There is no official universal recommendation. The qualified list, your build and the Collection tasks determine the useful choice.

“All CSR2 lock-ins work the same way.”
No. Collections Cup lock-ins are documented as irreversible, while separate limited-time events publish their own requirements.
“Buying Car Credits is required.”
No. Purchases are documented as an option; credits can also be earned through qualifying gameplay activities.
“Locking a car completes the Collection.”
No. Rookie acquisition and lock-in are followed by Veteran Tasks, rank rewards and Collection Perks. Completing every car and Veteran Task is what earns the exclusive profile sticker.
Bottom line for a supercar decision
Wait until you have identified the exact mode, verified the current qualified-car list and checked your Collection tasks and competing events. In a Collections Cup, the selected car will run multiple races and cannot be swapped according to Zynga Player Support. Choose the eligible car you can realistically prepare and that best advances your current progression, then use the confirmation screen as the final authority.
