Verdict: The Crumble Ceramic Fry Pan 24cm is a colorful ceramic non-stick skillet for induction, gas and electric cooktops, with an ILAG Xeradur 5 coating that Crumble describes as PFAS- and PTFE-free. Its 0.8 kg weight and 18 cm measured base make it a reasonably compact everyday pan, but the available evidence has two important limits: seller reviews are anecdotes rather than controlled tests, and the oven limit is listed as both 200°C and 230°C by different sources. Treat the current manual, price and return terms as decisive before buying.

What the Crumble Ceramic Fry Pan 24cm is

This is a 24 cm ceramic-coated non-stick fry pan sold by Crumble Cookware. Crumble says it is designed for frying, sautéing and searing, and identifies the coating as Swiss-made ILAG Xeradur 5. The company also describes that coating as PFAS- and PTFE-free. Those are manufacturer specifications and marketing claims; the available material does not include independent laboratory verification or evidence that the pan produces a particular health outcome. “PFAS-free” and “PTFE-free” should therefore not be read as a general, independently established “non-toxic” conclusion.

The pan is intended for induction, gas and electric cooktops according to Crumble’s product page. CHOICE Australia’s specification page supplies additional physical measurements but does not independently confirm induction performance: its induction-compatibility field is blank. That distinction matters if induction is the reason you are considering this model.

Specifications and what each source actually establishes

Specification Crumble product page CHOICE Australia listing How to interpret it
Nominal size 24 cm fry pan 24 cm product category The 24 cm label describes the pan’s nominal diameter, not the flat cooking surface.
Coating Swiss-made ILAG Xeradur 5 ceramic; described as PFAS- and PTFE-free Body material listed as non-stick ceramic Crumble’s coating and chemical statements are manufacturer claims; no independent verification is supplied.
Cooktops Induction, gas and electric Induction field displayed blank Induction suitability is claimed by Crumble, not independently confirmed by the displayed CHOICE field.
Weight Not stated in the supplied product-page material 0.8 kg The 0.8 kg figure is a CHOICE-listed specification.
Measured base diameter Not stated 18 cm Only the flat measured base is 18 cm; the nominal 24 cm rim is larger.
Base thickness Not stated 0.3 cm CHOICE lists 0.3 cm; this is a measurement, not a heat-retention performance score.
Handle Crumble says steel handles make the cookware oven friendly Stainless steel A metal handle can become hot; use appropriate protection when cooking.
Dishwasher use Dishwasher use possible Dishwasher-safe; handwashing recommended The conservative choice for preserving the coating is handwashing.
Oven limit No more than 200°C in the FAQ 230°C The sources conflict. Confirm the current manual or Crumble support before using the pan in an oven.
Price shown $180 full price; $126 member price in the indexed listing $180 These are page snapshots accessed in 2026. Currency, discount and stock must be checked on the live Australian listing.

CHOICE also reports that the heated base is slightly concave. Its magnetic test indicates magnetic capability across a 15.5 cm portion, while the centre area of the base is not magnetic. That observation does not by itself establish how an induction hob will heat this particular pan in your kitchen; it is best treated as a reason to verify compatibility with the current manufacturer documentation.

Induction, gas and electric compatibility

What Crumble says

Crumble states that the pan works on induction, gas and electric cooktops. If you use gas or a conventional electric element, that statement addresses the basic compatibility question directly. Keep the flame or element within the pan’s base rather than allowing it to climb the sides, which helps protect the coating and handle.

Why induction buyers should verify before ordering

Induction relies on a magnetic zone in the pan’s base. CHOICE lists a 15.5 cm magnetic portion and notes a non-magnetic centre area, while leaving its induction-compatibility field blank. The available sources therefore do not provide an independent induction test result, heating-speed measurement or guarantee that every hob will recognise the pan.

Before purchase, check the live Crumble listing or ask Crumble support whether the current production version is approved for your hob model. If you already own the pan, place a small amount of water in it and follow your hob manufacturer’s normal pan-recognition procedure; stop if the hob reports an error or fails to heat evenly. Do not treat a magnet sticking to one part of the base as a complete performance test.

Oven safety: resolve the 200°C versus 230°C conflict

The oven guidance is the clearest unresolved issue in the available information. Crumble’s FAQ says the cookware should not be used above 200°C. CHOICE lists the pan as oven-safe up to 230°C. Those limits differ by 30°C, and neither source shown here explains whether the difference reflects a revised model, a different test condition or a transcription error.

Do not select the higher figure simply because it appears on a specification page. Check the current instruction manual supplied with your pan or obtain written guidance from Crumble, and follow the lower limit until the discrepancy is clarified. Confirm whether the stated temperature applies to the complete pan, including the stainless-steel handle, and whether a preheated oven, grill/broiler setting or fan-assisted mode changes the limit. Never place a pan under a grill element unless the current instructions explicitly permit it.

When moving the pan from a hob to an oven, use a dry oven mitt: a steel handle can become hot even when it looks cool. Set the hot pan on a heatproof surface when it leaves the oven, and allow it to cool before washing.

What is known about cooking performance

Seller-hosted customer comments

Crumble’s page displays five customer reviews with an overall rating of 5.0/5. The comments praise food release, easy cleanup and everyday use; one mentions using the pan on induction. These are testimonials hosted by the seller. They can illustrate the experiences those customers reported, but five comments cannot establish long-term coating life, heat distribution, scratch resistance or superiority over other 24 cm pans.

What is not established

CHOICE lists measurements and construction details, but the surfaced material does not provide a reproducible controlled-cooking score or methodology for this pan. There is consequently no defensible independent claim here about how evenly it browns, how quickly it heats, how many years the coating lasts or how it compares with a competing ceramic skillet. This review has not added hands-on testing; it interprets the published specifications and clearly labels their source.

For a new ceramic pan, use moderate heat while you learn how quickly it responds on your hob. Ceramic non-stick coatings generally perform best when food is not repeatedly overheated, but the exact lifespan of this coating is not established by the available evidence. Consider the pan a replaceable coated surface rather than cookware on which to use high heat and metal tools indefinitely.

Care instructions that protect the coating

Utensils

Crumble explicitly advises against metal utensils because they can scratch the surface and recommends silicone or wooden utensils instead. Its FAQ states: “No – please avoid using metal utensils as it will scratch the surface of the cookware.” Choose tools with smooth edges, and do not cut food in the pan with a knife.

Handwashing procedure

  1. Cool the pan. Let it come down from cooking temperature before adding water. A sudden temperature change can stress cookware and makes handling less safe.
  2. Use warm, soapy water. Crumble recommends warm soapy water rather than abrasive cleaners.
  3. Wipe with a non-abrasive sponge. Avoid scouring pads, steel wool, powdered abrasives and anything that can score the coating.
  4. Rinse and dry. Remove soap residue and dry the pan before storing it.
  5. Store without abrasion. If pans are nested, place a soft separator between them so another base or rim does not rub the cooking surface.

Dishwasher choice

Crumble says dishwasher use is possible, while CHOICE labels the pan dishwasher-safe but recommends handwashing. Those statements are compatible in practice: a dishwasher may be permitted, but handwashing is the gentler routine if preserving non-stick performance is your priority. Use the dishwasher only in line with the current care instructions, keep the pan away from abrasive items, and do not assume repeated hot cycles have no effect on the coating.

Common care mistakes

  • Heating an empty pan for a long time or using a burner much larger than its base.
  • Sliding the pan across a glass cooktop, which can scratch the cooktop and abrade the pan’s underside.
  • Stacking heavy cookware directly on the ceramic surface.
  • Putting a hot pan under cold running water.
  • Using metal spatulas because a recipe calls for scraping or cutting.

What the 18 cm base means in a 24 cm pan

The nominal 24 cm diameter is measured at the pan’s upper width; CHOICE measures the base at 18 cm. That smaller flat area is the part in direct contact with an electric element or induction zone and the area where food receives the most consistent contact heat. A 24 cm pan can therefore offer useful sidewall capacity without providing a 24 cm flat browning surface.

  • Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft

For one or two portions, the dimensions should be manageable: eggs, vegetables, a single chicken breast or a small sauté are plausible everyday uses. Larger batches may crowd the 18 cm base, causing food to steam instead of brown. If you regularly cook for several people, compare the measured base—not just the advertised diameter—with the footprint of other pans before choosing this model.

At 0.8 kg, the pan is relatively easy to lift when empty. Once filled with food, keep two-handed control in mind if the handle becomes hot or the contents are liquid. The 0.3 cm base-thickness figure from CHOICE describes construction, not a promise of faster heating, better searing or reduced warping.

How to compare it with another 24 cm pan

A nominally identical diameter does not make two pans interchangeable. Use the following checklist when comparing the Crumble with any other 24 cm cookware:

Price, membership pricing and availability

The indexed Crumble page displayed a $180 full price and a $126 member price. CHOICE listed $180. The extracted product-page text did not establish the currency, and the listing included low-stock or pre-order interface language. Treat all three details as time-sensitive snapshots accessed in 2026: confirm the currency on the current Australian page, whether membership is required for the lower price, whether the offer is still running, and whether the pan is actually dispatchable.

The page also promoted an email-signup offer. Do not assume that promotion is still active or that it applies to every customer. Check the final checkout total, delivery charge, returns policy and warranty terms before paying. If the pan is on pre-order, look for an estimated dispatch date rather than treating the listing as immediately available.

Strengths and limitations

Reasons to consider it

  • One pan is advertised for induction, gas and electric cooktops.
  • The ceramic coating is identified by name as ILAG Xeradur 5, with PFAS- and PTFE-free status stated by the manufacturer.
  • The 0.8 kg CHOICE-listed weight should make an empty 24 cm pan easy to manoeuvre.
  • Silicone or wooden utensils and straightforward handwashing provide a clear care routine.
  • The 18 cm measured base gives a concrete dimension for comparing usable cooking area.

Reasons to pause

  • Induction suitability is a Crumble claim, not a confirmed CHOICE test result in the displayed information.
  • The oven limit is inconsistent: 200°C on Crumble’s FAQ versus 230°C in CHOICE’s listing.
  • Five seller-hosted reviews and a 5.0/5 display cannot demonstrate durability or controlled cooking performance.
  • Metal utensils are specifically discouraged, and handwashing is the safer long-term care choice despite dishwasher permission.
  • Current currency, stock, discount status, warranty and returns need live verification.

Who should buy this pan?

The Crumble is a sensible candidate if you want a colorful 24 cm ceramic skillet, mostly cook moderate-heat meals, are willing to use non-metal utensils and prefer a lighter pan. It is especially worth considering when the manufacturer confirms compatibility with your induction hob and the live price is acceptable after delivery and membership conditions.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose another pan—or delay the purchase—if you need a single unambiguous high-temperature oven rating, routinely use metal turners, depend on a large flat searing area, or want independently measured durability and cooking scores. In those cases, compare the written manual, measured base, handle construction and warranty rather than relying on the nominal 24 cm size or seller rating.

Buying checklist

  1. Open the current Crumble listing and confirm the pan is the 24 cm model, not a similarly named set or another size.
  2. Verify the displayed currency, total delivered cost, member-price requirements and whether the item is in stock or on pre-order.
  3. Ask Crumble to confirm induction compatibility for your hob and provide the current oven limit in writing.
  4. Read the current warranty and returns terms, including what they say about coating wear, scratches and dishwasher use.
  5. Plan to use silicone or wooden utensils and wash with a non-abrasive sponge.
  6. Compare the alternative pan’s measured base, weight, oven rating and care restrictions—not just its rim diameter.

Bottom line

The Crumble Ceramic Fry Pan 24cm has a clear everyday-use proposition: ceramic non-stick cooking in a manageable size, with Crumble claiming induction, gas and electric compatibility. The most decision-relevant cautions are equally clear. The published oven limits conflict, CHOICE does not supply an independent induction confirmation in the displayed field, and the excellent seller rating is based on only five customer comments. Buy it only after confirming the current manual, price, currency, stock and return terms; then protect the coating with non-metal utensils and gentle handwashing.
