For online PDF cropping, choose Adobe Acrobat on the web for an Acrobat workflow and cloud saving, Sejda for automatic or page-specific crop controls, PDF24 for its vendor-described browser-only processing, or PDF Candy for a simple crop workflow with cloud import and export. These are feature-based choices, not a hands-on ranking: the vendors’ documentation does not establish which tool is fastest or produces the best output.

How to crop a PDF with each tool
Adobe Acrobat on the web
- Open Acrobat on the web and choose Edit > Crop pages.
- Upload your PDF, then drag the crop handles to set the visible page boundary.
- Choose a page range, or select All to use the same margins throughout the document.
- Select Crop. Adobe says the resulting pages are automatically saved to Adobe cloud storage.
This workflow is a good fit when a consistent crop across several pages is the goal.
Sejda
- Open Sejda’s online crop tool and upload the PDF.
- Choose a shared crop, automatic trimming of white margins, or different crop sizes for individual pages.
- For precise manual cropping, set the top, left, bottom, and right margins.
- Review the pages and download the result.
Sejda’s page currently lists a free service for documents up to 200 pages or 50 MB, with three tasks per hour. The service says uploads are automatically deleted after two hours. For offline processing, Sejda also offers a desktop application and says files remain on the user’s computer. These limits and retention statements are Sejda’s own and may change.

PDF24
- Open PDF24’s online crop tool and select a file.
- Set equal or custom crop boundaries. Apply one box to the document or crop pages individually.
- Download the cropped PDF and inspect it before replacing the original.
PDF24 describes the process as browser-only, with no file upload. It also warns that content outside the crop box remains in the document and that cropping usually does not substantially reduce file size. Keep the original if you may need to recover content outside the visible page boundary.
PDF Candy
- Open PDF Candy’s crop tool and upload or drag in the file.
- Adjust the crop frame around the page preview and apply the settings to all pages if appropriate.
- Save the result locally, to cloud storage, or through a shareable link.
PDF Candy says its cloud servers process documents, so this is not a local-only workflow. Its crop page displays paid plans with higher per-task file sizes and no hourly limits; check the current page for any free allowance and applicable terms.

Choose a tool based on the crop you need
- Same margins on many pages: Adobe offers page-range controls, while Sejda and PDF24 document shared crops across pages. Compare the available workflow with the document’s layout.
- Different page sizes or automatic margin trimming: Sejda explicitly documents both page-specific crops and auto-cropping. Inspect the result because scanned pages and margins may vary.
- Processing that stays in the browser: PDF24 says its tool processes files entirely in the browser and does not upload them. That is a vendor claim, not an independently verified audit.
- Offline work: Sejda offers a desktop option and says files remain on your computer while using it.
- Cloud-based workflow: Adobe says the cropped pages are saved to Adobe cloud storage; PDF Candy says it processes documents on cloud servers and supports cloud saving and share links.
- Free-use limits: Sejda lists specific page, file-size, and hourly task limits. PDF Candy displays paid plans, but a comparable current free quota is not established here; a comparable free allowance for Adobe is not established either. PDF24 says its tool is free without page limits.
What cropping does—and what it does not do
Cropping changes the visible page boundary. It does not necessarily erase the material beyond that boundary: PDF24 says the underlying content remains, and Sejda describes content outside the crop area as hidden rather than completely removed. Do not use cropping to conceal sensitive information. Use a genuine redaction feature, then verify the result before sharing the file.
Cropping is also not a dependable way to compress a PDF. PDF24 says content outside the crop box stays in the document and file-size savings are usually modest. If you need a smaller file, use a PDF compression workflow and check the output separately.
