Yes—if your priority is carrying a capable controller everywhere. CRKD’s $29.99 Atom+ adds two thumbsticks, modern triggers and shoulder buttons to the company’s palm-sized Atom design. It is marketed for Switch 2, Switch, PC and handheld PCs, phones, tablets and smart TVs, while adding vibration, motion controls and programmable inputs. That makes it unusually versatile for a controller that can fit in a pocket. The trade-off is equally important: there is no published Atom+ battery-life figure or independent long-session comfort test, so “travel-friendly” is better established than “comfortable for an entire evening.”
What changed from the original Atom
The original Atom’s appeal was its tiny footprint. Atom+ keeps that portability but adds the controls many modern games require: two analog sticks, triggers and shoulder buttons. TechRadar’s March 26, 2026 launch report says the sticks use TMR (tunnel magnetoresistance) sensors, and that the new model adds vibration and motion control while remaining extremely compact.
CRKD calls it “a mini Bluetooth® gaming controller designed for powerful, portable play.” The company’s global brand manager, Jack Guinchard, described the goal as a gamepad powerful enough for modern gameplay but small enough to take anywhere. Those are manufacturer and launch-report descriptions, not the results of an independent hands-on test.
Why it makes sense as a travel controller
Pocketable hardware with a full modern layout
CRKD designed Atom+ to fit in a pocket or attach to a bag using the included wrist strap. Unlike many ultra-small pads that simplify the controls, it retains dual sticks, triggers and shoulder buttons. That gives it a better chance with third-person games, shooters, racing games and other titles that are awkward or impossible on a single-stick mini controller.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Broad device support
CRKD lists Bluetooth compatibility with Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, PCs and PC handhelds, mobile devices, tablets and smart TVs. Compatibility can still vary by operating system, game and input mode, so check the game’s controller support rather than assuming every title will recognize every feature.
Useful extras for a small pad
- Programmable buttons and custom macros through CRKD’s Companion App.
- Dual four-way toggle buttons for additional inputs.
- Vibration feedback and motion control.
- Turbo functionality.
- Rechargeable battery with USB-C charging.
- Bluetooth pairing and an included wrist strap.
Can Atom+ handle modern games?
Its two sticks and full trigger-and-shoulder layout address the biggest limitation of many tiny controllers. A game that expects camera control, analog movement and trigger pressure is a plausible fit on paper. Programmable inputs, macros and turbo may also help in games that support those functions.

However, compact dimensions do not change the demands of a game. Competitive players may prefer a larger controller with more palm support and a familiar stick spacing. Atom+ is best viewed as a highly portable option for travel, a backup pad or short sessions—not as a proven replacement for a full-size controller in every genre.

What TMR sticks mean—and what is actually proven
CRKD markets the TMR sticks as eliminating stick drift. Its FAQ explains that TMR uses magnetic sensing, like Hall-effect designs, and claims higher sensitivity, faster response and lower power consumption. These are CRKD’s stated advantages; no independent Atom+ drift or performance test was identified.

- Sleek 7-in-1 USB-C Hub: Features an HDMI port, two USB-A 3.0 ports, and a USB-C data port, each providing 5Gbps transfer speeds. It also includes a USB-C PD input port for charging up to 100W and dual SD and TF card slots, all in a compact design.
- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
That distinction matters. TMR sensing can reduce reliance on wear-prone contact components, but long-term reliability depends on the complete stick assembly, calibration and firmware. Treat “drift-free” as a manufacturer claim rather than a measured guarantee until independent testing is available.

Switch 2, travel and buying considerations
Switch 2 compatibility
CRKD explicitly lists Switch 2 support, so the Atom+ is aimed at Nintendo’s newer console as well as the original Switch. The listing does not establish that every Switch 2 system feature or game-specific function works identically to Nintendo’s first-party controllers.

Who should buy it
- Frequent travelers: You want a controller that occupies little luggage space but still has two sticks and triggers.
- Switch 2 or multi-device owners: You want one Bluetooth pad for a console, computer and mobile devices.
- Backup-controller buyers: You value a $29.99 entry price and features such as turbo, remapping and motion control.
Who should choose something larger
- You routinely play for several hours and need established full-size ergonomics.
- You require independently verified battery endurance or drift resistance.
- You play competitive games where stick spacing, grip support and measured latency matter more than pocketability.
Verdict: a convincing pocket pad, with important unknowns
At $29.99, Atom+ offers an unusually broad feature set for a controller small enough to carry on a keyring-sized travel setup: dual sticks, triggers, vibration, motion, remapping, macros, turbo and multi-platform Bluetooth support. That makes it a strong candidate for travel and a practical companion for Switch 2, Switch, PC handheld and mobile gaming.

- Powerful Pass-Through Charging: Supports up to 85W pass-through charging so you can power up your laptop while you use the hub. Note: Pass-through charging requires a charger (not included). Note: To achieve full power for iPad, we recommend using a 45W wall charger.
- Transfer Files in Seconds: Move files to and from your laptop at speeds of up to 5 Gbps via the USB-C and USB-A data ports. Note: The USB C 5Gbps Data port does not support video output.
- HD Display: Connect to the HDMI port to stream or mirror content to an external monitor in resolutions of up to 4K@30Hz. Note: The USB-C ports do not support video output.
- What You Get: Anker 332 USB-C Hub (5-in-1), welcome guide, our worry-free 18-month warranty, and friendly customer service.
Its limits are evidence, not necessarily hardware defects. Battery life, long-session comfort and real-world TMR durability have not been independently established. Buy Atom+ for portability and control coverage; do not buy it on an assumption of all-day comfort or a scientifically confirmed “no drift” guarantee.
