Shattered Legends is a new Daggerheart actual play from Critical Role and hololive production, announced October 13, 2026. Matthew Mercer will Game Master a story described as canon to Critical Role’s Exandria, with hololive talents Nerissa Ravencroft, Mori Calliope, Shiori Novella, and Gigi Murin playing alongside Marisha Ray. The series is planned to premiere in mid-November 2026, with the main episodes available on YouTube and Beacon.
What is Shattered Legends?
Shattered Legends is a collaborative mini web series that brings Critical Role performers and hololive virtual talents together for a Daggerheart actual play. COVER Corporation’s hololive production announcement calls it “a new Daggerheart adventure that is canon to Critical Role’s world of Exandria.” That canon description is the key distinction for viewers following Critical Role’s setting: this is presented as an Exandria story, not simply a separate game using the same rules.

The announcement identifies the project as the first collaboration between Critical Role and hololive production. It names the participants and their roles, but does not yet disclose the characters they will play or provide further story details. The cast combines four hololive talents with Marisha Ray, while Matthew Mercer serves as Game Master.

The VTuber element is in the performers: the announcement places four hololive talents in the game alongside Critical Role’s Marisha Ray. It does not give character descriptions or explain how the participants’ on-screen presentation will work, so those details should not be assumed from the cast list alone.
#1 Best Overall
- First major D&D adventure book within Critical Role’s world of Exandria, taking players from levels 3–12
- Multi-continental story that spans the scarred Wastes of Xhorhas, introduces the continent of Marquet, and eventually plunges players into the Netherdeep—a terrifying cross between the Far Realm and the deep ocean
- Bursting with lore and all new art depicting Exandria
- Includes a poster map of Ank’Harel
- Adds magic items, creatures, and introduces rival NPCs
When does it premiere, and where can you watch?
The announced premiere window is mid-November 2026. No specific day or release time is given, so viewers should treat that as a planned window rather than a confirmed date.
The main mini web series is described as publicly available on both YouTube and Beacon. Beacon is also set to host additional material: an Episode 0 about character creation and backstories, plus post-episode “cooldown” conversations. The announcement does not state Beacon’s pricing or access terms, so availability of those extras should not be read as evidence that they require a particular subscription or payment.

Is this Critical Role’s Campaign Four?
No. Shattered Legends is a separate collaborative mini series. Critical Role’s official description of Campaign Four places that campaign in the new world of Aramán; hololive’s announcement describes Shattered Legends as a Daggerheart adventure canon to Exandria. The two projects therefore have different stated settings and should not be treated as the same campaign.

Daggerheart is the tabletop role-playing system used for Shattered Legends. Watching the series does not require buying the game. For viewers who want to play it themselves, the official Daggerheart purchase information describes a physical Core Set with a rulebook and cards for character ancestry, community, subclass, and domain abilities. The official purchase sources also distinguish physical copies from digital offerings; listed retailers include Amazon, Critical Role regional shops, Darrington Press Guild stores, friendly local game stores, and other bookstores. Stock and availability can vary by retailer.
