You can create a Samsung account on a Galaxy device or through Samsung’s account website; the setup instructions reviewed do not require you to own or buy a Samsung device. You’ll generally provide an email address, password, name and date of birth, then verify your email. Some regional signup flows may also ask for a phone number and SMS verification.
Choose how to create your Samsung account
Use your device if you already have a Galaxy phone or tablet nearby. Use a browser if you prefer to register on a computer or another device. The account is a shared Samsung login, not a separate account for each service.

Create an account from Galaxy device settings
Samsung’s UK guidance gives a typical route through Settings. Its Ireland guide, updated 29 July 2026, shows a more recent menu sequence and includes phone verification. Since menus differ, follow the closest matching labels on your device rather than treating one path as universal.
- Connect the device to Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Open Settings. Depending on the software, select Cloud and accounts or Accounts and backup. If prompted, open Accounts or Manage accounts.
- Select Add account, then Samsung account.
- Choose Create account. On some versions, first select Forgot password or don’t have an account?, then choose the create-account option.
- Review and accept the terms shown. Enter the requested details, which can include your email address, password, first and last name, and date of birth.
- Complete any verification steps on screen. Samsung’s Ireland flow asks for a phone number and SMS verification; that regional requirement should not be assumed to apply everywhere. Email verification may also be requested.
- Open Samsung’s verification message and follow its link or enter its code as prompted to finish registration.
Your email address is normally your account ID. If you already have a Samsung account, choose Sign in instead of creating another one.

Register through a browser
Open the Samsung account page and select the account-creation option. Provide the details requested by the current form and complete the verification it specifies. Samsung’s older Singapore guide describes registration with agreement, personal details and email-code verification, but it was last updated in January 2021; use the live form’s instructions rather than relying on that older sequence.
For an existing account, sign in with your email and password. Samsung’s UK guidance says desktop sign-in then uses a two-step verification code. The precise verification prompt may depend on the account’s security settings and region.

What a Samsung account lets you use
Samsung describes the account as one login for a range of its apps and services. In Samsung UK’s words, it “provides seamless access to a wide range of Samsung apps and services, allowing you to manage your devices, monitor health, enjoy exclusive content and more.” The services and features available to you can depend on country, device and software.
- Find devices: Samsung Find or Find My Mobile can help locate supported devices associated with your account.
- Cloud services: Samsung Cloud can support backup, restore and syncing for supported data and devices.
- Connected home: SmartThings can connect compatible appliances, TVs, speakers and wearables.
- Support and community: Samsung Members provides support and community features.
- Other Samsung services: Samsung’s US support information also names Samsung Health, Samsung Wallet and Galaxy Store. This does not mean each service is offered in every country or works on every device.
- Product registration: Samsung UK says eligible registered products can show tailored information, remaining warranty period and access to technical support. That UK page excludes memory and storage devices, accessories and components from its stated registration eligibility.
- Rewards: Samsung Rewards is listed in Samsung’s UK retail context; do not assume the same rewards program or terms apply in every market.
Protect the account and keep recovery options available
Samsung UK lists four two-step verification methods: text message, authenticator app, notification and backup code. Two-step verification adds a login check beyond your password. Choose a method you can access and keep any backup code somewhere secure; losing access to your chosen method can complicate sign-in.

If you forget your email ID or password, use Find ID or Reset password from the Samsung Account sign-in page and follow the instructions sent to your email. If you can no longer access the email address or verification number, consult Samsung’s current recovery guidance for your region, since the available steps and any delays can differ.
Removing an account is different from deleting it
Removing a Samsung account through a device’s Settings disconnects it from that device; it does not by itself delete the account. Deletion is a separate account-level action in account settings. Before either action, consider whether services or synced information on that device rely on the account, and follow Samsung’s on-screen guidance for the consequences.

Regional and age requirements
Registration and service availability can vary by country, device and software. Age rules are also country-specific: Samsung Singapore’s guidance, for example, says registration there is restricted for people under 13, but that is not a global age limit. Check the terms and prompts shown for your country during signup, and use the local Samsung support site for regional details.
