Coywolf Pack is a new, free, modular plugin for EmDash that combines publishing tools, SEO and discovery controls, WordPress migration utilities, video management, and aggressive performance optimizations. A Search Engine Journal report published October 15, 2026 says the author tested several EmDash page types at 100 on PageSpeed Insights. That is promising, but it is not the same as an independent, multi-site benchmark.

The plugin’s strongest practical appeal is breadth: publishers can enable only the modules they need while gaining features such as IndexNow notifications, a Google News sitemap, Cloudflare Stream integration, selective cache invalidation, and an importer designed to retain difficult WordPress data.

What Coywolf Pack is

Coywolf Pack is described as a free extension for the EmDash publishing platform. Its modular architecture groups functions into publishing and website management, SEO and discovery, migration, video, and performance. A publisher can therefore avoid turning on features that are irrelevant to a particular site rather than accepting one large, inseparable feature bundle.

The developer identified in the report is Jon Henshaw. Search Engine Journal describes him as an SEO specialist with more than 30 years of experience and reports that he is Yahoo’s Director of Audience Management, with previous SEO leadership roles at CNET, Vimeo, Paramount+, Pluto TV, and Showtime.

Feature set at a glance

Area Reported capabilities Why it matters
Publishing and management Backups and recovery, secure storage for form-uploaded files, tracked downloads, and additional content blocks Combines routine site administration with richer editorial and compliance content
SEO and discovery Crawler controls, metadata generation, structured data, link and redirect management, Google News sitemap, IndexNow, LLMs.txt, and Markdown article output Helps search engines, news systems, and automated readers discover and process content
Video Cloudflare Stream hosting and management, captions, engagement tracking, automatic VideoObject data, and a video XML sitemap Adds a managed video workflow instead of treating video as ordinary page media
Migration WordPress importer with preservation of redirects, hierarchy, media references, authors, heading IDs, and selected blocks Reduces the URL, taxonomy, media, and byline loss that can occur during a basic import
Performance Persistent and selective caching, cache warming, optimized image delivery, browser-side title indexing, early redirect handling, fewer database round trips, and server-side rendering Targets both server response time and the amount of browser-side work

Publishing and site management

  • Website backup and recovery tools.
  • Protected storage for files submitted through forms.
  • Download tracking for files offered to visitors.
  • Expanded blocks for notices, disclosures, quotes, testimonials, and podcast links.

Discovery and technical SEO

The Discovery module is reported to generate a Google News sitemap, send IndexNow notifications when content is published, updated, or removed, expose an LLMs.txt file, and provide Markdown versions of articles for easier machine processing. The broader SEO layer adds crawler controls, metadata generation, structured data, and tools for managing links and redirects.

Video workflow

Cloudflare Stream integration extends EmDash with video hosting and management, captions, engagement measurement, automatic VideoObject structured data, and a video XML sitemap. For a publisher with a substantial video library, those pieces connect hosting, accessibility, analytics, and search discovery in one workflow.

Why the WordPress importer is significant

Migration quality is often determined by details that are invisible on a newly imported homepage. According to the report, Coywolf Pack’s importer is designed to preserve the following:

  • Heading IDs, which can keep in-page anchors working.
  • Existing redirects created with Yoast, Rank Math, or Redirection.
  • Legacy media URLs and resized image variants.
  • Category relationships and page parent-child hierarchy.
  • Multiple-author and guest-author assignments.
  • Selected reusable, quotation, and Details blocks.
  • Author data from Co-Authors Plus, PublishPress Authors, and Coywolf Guest Author.

That list addresses common migration failures: broken inbound links, missing image references, flattened navigation, and bylines that no longer identify the correct contributor. It does not establish that every WordPress plugin, custom block, or bespoke field will transfer; the report only documents the data types listed above.

How the performance design works

The reported speed gains come from several mechanisms rather than one “turbo” switch:

  1. Persistent page caching: Cached pages can remain available for days. Deployments and relevant settings changes automatically invalidate affected cache entries.
  2. Selective cache clearing: The system can clear only impacted pages instead of flushing the entire site.
  3. Cache warming: After deployments, cache clears, and content edits, pages are proactively requested so visitors are less likely to encounter a cold cache.
  4. Optimized image delivery: Images are delivered through Cloudflare infrastructure with responsive sizing, long cache lifetimes, and explicit dimensions in the HTML to reduce layout shift.
  5. Faster live search: Browser-based title indexing and cached search results reduce the work required for each query.
  6. Early redirect processing: Redirects are handled before EmDash renders a page, and the responses themselves can be cached.
  7. Less database work: The implementation reportedly reduces D1 database round trips, caches settings, and reuses queries.
  8. Server-side rendering: Tables of contents, breadcrumbs, reviews, and structured data are rendered on the server, reducing client-side JavaScript requirements.

Together, these choices target time to first response, repeat visits, layout stability, search interaction, and JavaScript execution. They also explain why the plugin is more than a conventional metadata add-on.

What the reported testing shows

Search Engine Journal says its author tested the EmDash home page, inner pages, a video category page, and a page containing a video; all achieved a perfect 100 PageSpeed Insights score. The same report attributes a comparison of 60–90 milliseconds for cached responses versus 1–2 seconds to Coywolf.

Those figures should be read in context. The PageSpeed results are the author’s tests on the specified page types, and the latency comparison is a Coywolf-attributed claim, not a broadly replicated laboratory benchmark. The available report does not establish performance across different hosting regions, traffic levels, themes, databases, content volumes, or third-party scripts. A site owner should therefore treat the numbers as encouraging evidence, then measure the production site before and after enabling the relevant modules.

Who is most likely to benefit

  • Publishers moving from WordPress: The importer’s attention to redirects, media URLs, hierarchy, blocks, and authors can reduce migration cleanup.
  • News and frequently updated sites: Google News sitemaps, IndexNow notifications, and selective cache invalidation are aligned with rapid publishing cycles.
  • Video-heavy publications: Cloudflare Stream support, captions, engagement tracking, VideoObject data, and a video sitemap provide a unified workflow.
  • Sites sensitive to Core Web Vitals: Responsive image sizing, explicit dimensions, caching, and server-rendered components address several common sources of delay and layout shift.
  • Lean installations: Modularity lets a team enable only the publishing, discovery, migration, video, or performance functions it actually needs.

Important qualifications before adoption

The report establishes that Coywolf Pack is free and describes its features, but it does not provide a separate pricing schedule, formal public documentation, or independent multi-site benchmark results. It also does not specify how every module is configured, which EmDash versions are supported, or how the importer handles custom WordPress extensions beyond the named sources and block types.

For a production rollout, record existing URLs, redirects, media paths, author assignments, and Core Web Vitals first. Import a representative section, check anchors and taxonomy hierarchy, verify image variants and bylines, and test redirects before switching the full site. After enabling performance features, compare uncached and cached responses and monitor search, forms, downloads, and video playback—not just a single PageSpeed score.

Bottom line

Coywolf Pack stands out because it treats EmDash as a complete publishing stack rather than adding isolated SEO fields. Its discovery tools, migration safeguards, managed video features, and multi-layer caching strategy could make an EmDash site both easier to operate and faster to deliver. The 100 PageSpeed scores and 60–90 millisecond cached-response claim are notable, but they remain limited evidence; production measurements and migration testing should determine whether the reported “absurdly fast” result applies to your site.
