Cover-More Comprehensive+ annual multi-trip insurance can suit eligible travellers taking several shorter trips in a 12-month policy period, but it is not cover for one continuous year-long journey. Each trip must fit the maximum duration selected, and the traveller must return home before that duration resets. The key decision is whether those trip limits, the policy’s sub-limits and exclusions, and any required add-ons fit your itinerary.
How annual multi-trip cover works
An annual multi-trip policy covers multiple separate journeys during one 12-month policy period. It does not turn the policy into cover for a single, uninterrupted year away. Cover-More says the traveller must return home after a trip for the selected maximum duration to reset.
The current Cover-More annual multi-trip product page, accessed in 2026, lists these maximum trip durations:
| Travel area | Maximum duration for each trip |
|---|---|
| International | 30, 45 or 60 days |
| Domestic | 15 or 30 days |
These are per-trip options, not the total number of days available across the policy year. A 60-day international option does not make a trip longer than 60 days eligible. Check the policy wording and your Certificate of Insurance for how the selected duration applies to your specific journey.

How much cover does Comprehensive+ provide?
The figures below are for the international Comprehensive+ benefits in the Cover-More PDS effective 15 October 2025, issued by Zurich Australian Insurance Limited. They are policy limits, not unconditional promises of payment: definitions, excesses, sub-limits, conditions and exclusions apply. The domestic benefits differ and do not include the same overseas medical section.
| Benefit | Published limit or qualification | What to keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| Overseas medical expenses | Unlimited, with cover not exceeding 12 months from onset | “Unlimited” is qualified by the time limit and the policy’s terms, conditions and exclusions. |
| Emergency dental expenses | $2,000 | Check the PDS for the benefit definition, conditions and applicable excess. |
| Luggage and travel documents | $25,000 overall | Individual item limits can be substantially lower than the overall limit. |
| Laptop | $5,000 per item | Subject to the policy’s conditions and exclusions. |
| Camera or video camera | $6,000 per item | Subject to the policy’s conditions and exclusions. |
| Phone or smart watch | $2,500 per item | Subject to the policy’s conditions and exclusions. |
| Pre-trip COVID-19 cancellation benefit | Up to $5,000 per policy for the international plans shown | This is a defined benefit with stated conditions and excesses, not general cancellation protection. |
All figures in this table are from the Cover-More PDS effective 15 October 2025. They apply to the stated international Comprehensive+ benefits; read the matching PDS for full definitions and the Certificate of Insurance for the cover actually selected. The PDS says its purpose is to help customers understand the policy, compare cover and make an informed decision about whether to buy.

What to check before relying on the policy
Cancellation cover and the amount you choose
Cancellation cover is based on the amount selected for the policy and shown on the Certificate of Insurance. Make sure that amount reflects the eligible prepaid costs you want to insure, and distinguish it from the PDS’s specific pre-trip COVID-19 cancellation benefit. Conditions and excesses apply to benefits.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsExisting medical conditions
Do not assume an existing medical condition is automatically covered. The PDS describes eligibility and health assessment, and a condition may be subject to limitations, special conditions or an additional premium. Check each traveller’s circumstances through the quote process and policy wording before buying.

Planned activities and optional cover
Match cover to the trip rather than assuming every activity is included. Cover-More identifies Cruise Cover as an additional choice for sea or ocean cruises of two or more nights, for an extra premium. Snow sports and motorcycle or moped riding require relevant additional cover. The listed Business Pack and Rental Vehicle Comprehensive Cover require Comprehensive+.
For any other adventure activity, confirm the exact activity against the PDS. A broad activity label is not enough to establish cover; definitions and exclusions in the policy wording govern.

Domestic trip eligibility
Cover-More’s annual multi-trip page says domestic trips generally need to be at least 250 km from home. It also states an exception for a closer trip involving at least one night of paid accommodation. Check the policy’s precise definition and your Certificate of Insurance to confirm that a planned trip qualifies.
Is Comprehensive+ worth it for your itinerary?
There is no single answer without knowing the traveller, destinations and trips. It may be worth considering if you expect several separate trips within 12 months and the relevant maximum duration fits every journey. Compare the policy against your actual exposure, not just the headline benefit limits:
- Travel area: Confirm whether the trip is international or domestic and that the selected travel area covers all destinations.
- Trip length: Check each journey against the selected per-trip maximum, including your return-home plans.
- Cancellation exposure: Choose an amount that fits eligible prepaid costs and appears correctly on the Certificate of Insurance.
- Belongings: Compare the value of each item with its individual limit, not only the total luggage limit.
- Health and activities: Resolve medical-condition assessments and select any relevant optional cover before travel.
- Excess and conditions: Read the PDS and certificate to understand what you would pay and which restrictions apply.
Cover-More says premiums vary with destination, age, the people insured, chosen trip duration, optional cover and existing medical conditions. No representative price is established here; use a live quote for your own details and compare it with other options on the same assumptions.
How to get a quote and verify the policy
- On Cover-More’s annual multi-trip quote page, select annual multi-trip cover.
- Add your destinations, enter the first trip dates and choose a maximum duration for each trip.
- Enter the insured travellers and declare existing medical conditions through the quote process.
- Select any optional cover needed for the itinerary, then review the quote and its stated terms.
- Before purchasing, check the PDS effective for the policy’s issue date. After purchase, verify the Certificate of Insurance’s travel area, selected cancellation amount, trip duration and cover choices.
The current PDS page identifies Comprehensive+ policies issued on or after 15 October 2025 as current. If your policy was issued earlier, use the PDS that matches your Certificate of Insurance: older policies may have different wording. The PDS and certificate—not a product-page summary—set the applicable terms and selected cover.
Under the policy conditions, amounts recoverable from a statutory fund, compensation scheme or transport provider must be pursued, and the policy covers only the remaining amount. Annual multi-trip limits are automatically reinstated when each journey ends; the policy conditions set a separate rule for luggage reinstatement.
