It could, but Palantir’s results and 2026 guidance do not establish that it will. A $300 share price by the end of 2028 is a scenario that depends on continued growth, future profitability, the valuation investors assign to those results, and how the share count changes. At Palantir’s Q2 2026 diluted weighted-average share count, $300 per share would imply about $770.6 billion in equity value—a scale that makes the valuation assumptions essential.
What Palantir’s latest reported results show
For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, Palantir reported revenue of $1.935 billion, up 93% year over year. U.S. commercial revenue was $764 million, up 149%, while U.S. government revenue was $809 million, up 90%. Profitability was also high in the quarter: GAAP operating income was $912 million, a 47% margin; GAAP net income was $1.062 billion, a 55% margin; and adjusted free cash flow was $1.220 billion, a 63% margin. These measures describe different things. GAAP results follow accounting standards, while adjusted free cash flow is a non-GAAP measure; neither quarterly figure by itself establishes what the company will earn in 2028.
What management expects for 2026
Palantir raised its FY 2026 revenue guidance to $8.150–$8.158 billion and forecast U.S. commercial revenue above $3.424 billion, representing at least 134% year-over-year growth. It also guided to adjusted income from operations of $4.889–$4.897 billion. What a $300 share price would imply
Palantir reported 2.568694 billion diluted weighted-average shares for Q2 2026. Multiplying that historical share-count basis by $300 gives approximately $770.6 billion in implied equity value. This is illustrative arithmetic—not Palantir’s current market capitalization, a fully diluted estimate for 2028, or a forecast of what the stock will be worth then. That implied value is why a price target needs more than a claim that the business is growing quickly. A complete case for $300 should explain what revenue or earnings the company might reach by the target date, what valuation multiple investors might apply, and how the share count affects value per share. What would need to go right—and what could undermine the case
Investors assessing the possibility should separate the company’s operating performance from the price investors might pay for it. Strong growth can support a higher valuation, but it does not determine the valuation multiple. The following are the key questions a credible scenario must answer:
- Growth: Can Palantir sustain substantial revenue growth beyond its 2026 guidance, including in its U.S. commercial business?
- Profitability and cash generation: Can margins and cash generation remain strong as the business scales? A scenario should specify whether it relies on GAAP earnings, adjusted operating income, free cash flow, or another measure.
- Valuation: What multiple of the chosen revenue, earnings, or cash-flow measure would investors assign at the end of 2028? A high share price requires a valuation assumption as well as operating growth.
- Per-share results: How might share issuance and stock-based compensation affect the number of shares and the results attributable to each one?
Palantir says it earns revenue from subscriptions to hosted and on-premises software, as well as professional services. The filing reported 2.300517 billion Class A shares and 101.375 million Class B shares outstanding at June 30, 2026. Those period-end class counts and the quarter’s diluted weighted-average share count are different measures, so they should not be substituted for one another without explanation. How to evaluate a $300 target
- Check the date and basis. Confirm which quarter’s results and share count the argument uses. The $770.6 billion illustration above uses Q2 2026 diluted weighted-average shares, not a projected 2028 share count.
- Identify the financial measure. Distinguish GAAP operating income and net income from adjusted measures such as adjusted income from operations and adjusted free cash flow. A target based on adjusted operating income is not the same as one based on earnings per share.
- Write down the 2028 operating assumptions. Specify the projected revenue or earnings and the margin assumptions behind them. Do not treat 2026 company guidance as though it were a 2028 forecast.
- Show the valuation multiple. State the multiple applied to the projected financial measure and explain how it leads to the implied company value.
- Translate company value to per-share value. State the assumed share count and how stock-based compensation or other share issuance could affect it. Without this step, a company-value estimate cannot substantiate a per-share target.
