Brent crude reaching $150 is a conditional chart target, not a confirmed forecast. In a report published October 12, 2026, TheStreet said Brent had risen above $107 and quoted technical analyst The Great Martis as saying a sustained break above $110 could open the way toward $150.

What is the $150 oil forecast?

The figure comes from a technical-analysis call about Brent crude. TheStreet reported that The Great Martis described an inverted head-and-shoulders pattern as bullish and said a move to $110 looked imminent. The analyst’s stated next step was conditional: if Brent sustained a break above $110, $150 could become a target. That is a chart-based scenario, not a guarantee that Brent will reach that price.

TheStreet said Brent was near $102 when the analyst made the call on October 8, 2026. King World News reproduced the forecast wording the same day, which confirms that the statement circulated; it does not independently validate the chart interpretation or the target. The sources identify the analyst by the handle The Great Martis, but do not establish a fuller name or independent credentials.

What did Brent do on October 12?

TheStreet reported Brent above $107 on October 12, 2026, up about 2.4% that day, with an intraday high around $107.25. Those are figures reported by the publication, not independently checked exchange data. The reported price was below the $110 threshold in the analyst’s scenario, and the available sources do not establish whether Brent later sustained a break above it.

The distinction between an intraday high and a sustained breakout matters: briefly touching or crossing a level is not the same as holding above it. TheStreet’s account does not specify a precise duration or closing-price rule for what would count as “sustained.”

Why were supply risks mentioned?

TheStreet linked the rise to reported Russian strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure and attacks on commercial tankers near Oman and the Strait of Hormuz. Those events are the article’s explanation; the sources available here do not independently verify the incidents or quantify their effect on Brent prices.

The same report discussed higher inflation risk and refining margins. It said economists expected U.S. headline CPI to increase to 3.7% from 3.4%, but did not identify the underlying forecast source. Treat that figure as a forecast reported by TheStreet, not an official CPI result.

How to assess the breakout claim

A technical target is only one way to frame an oil outlook. Before treating the $150 figure as actionable, distinguish the benchmark and timeframe, and look for evidence that the threshold condition has actually been met.

  • Benchmark: The call concerns Brent crude. Do not assume the same levels apply to another crude benchmark.
  • Price measure: The report’s roughly $107.25 figure is an intraday high, not a stated settlement price.
  • Condition: The $150 target depends on a sustained break above $110; the report does not define how long Brent must remain above that level.
  • Basis: The cited inverted head-and-shoulders pattern is a technical interpretation. The report does not provide a competing analyst forecast or establish that the pattern predicts the outcome.
  • Fundamentals: Geopolitical supply concerns may affect prices, but the cited report does not independently document the incidents or quantify their market impact.

As of the October 12 report, the $150 level was a possible destination attached to a condition, not an established market outcome. TheStreet’s report is available at TheStreet; the forecast wording was also reproduced by King World News.
