The CORSAIR MP600 name covers multiple M.2 NVMe SSD models, not one drive with a single set of specifications. Its main advantages are PCIe 4.0 x4 connectivity, high manufacturer-rated sequential speeds on the cited PRO models, and a choice of heatsink styles. The trade-offs are that fit, cooling, speed, and other specifications depend on the exact model and capacity—and published speed claims are not independent test results.
What the MP600 name includes
CORSAIR’s MP600 family comparison describes several designs: the PRO NH ships without a heatspreader, the PRO LPX has a low-profile heatspreader and is positioned for PS5, and the PRO XT has a larger heatsink intended for desktop PCs. These are different physical configurations, so “MP600” alone does not tell you whether a drive will fit a particular M.2 slot or enclosure. CORSAIR calls the PRO family its fastest PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD family. That is the manufacturer’s characterization, not an independent ranking across SSDs.

Fast published sequential specifications on cited PRO models
The cited PRO and PRO LPX product pages list PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe drives with high maximum sequential throughput. CORSAIR lists the MP600 PRO LPX 2TB at up to 7,100 MB/s read and 6,800 MB/s write, and the MP600 PRO 1TB at up to 7,000 MB/s read and 6,850 MB/s write. These are CORSAIR’s published maximums for those specific SKUs, not guaranteed results for every system or workload.

Cooling choices across the family
The different heatsink configurations let buyers consider cooling and clearance together: NH has no included heatspreader, LPX uses a low-profile design, and XT has a larger heatsink. The right option depends on the host’s available space and M.2 cooling arrangement.
TLC NAND and a listed five-year warranty on cited models
CORSAIR lists 3D TLC NAND for the cited PRO LPX 2TB and PRO 1TB models. TLC is a useful specification to compare, but by itself it does not establish longer real-world drive life than another SSD. CORSAIR lists a five-year warranty on those two product pages; check the terms and eligibility for the exact product and purchase region.

Cons and buying cautions
Specifications vary by exact model and capacity
The two cited products already show different published sequential figures: the LPX 2TB page lists up to 7,100 MB/s read and 6,800 MB/s write, while the PRO 1TB page lists up to 7,000 MB/s read and 6,850 MB/s write. Do not transfer a number from one MP600 product page to another. Check the exact SKU for capacity, interface, speed, endurance, cooling, and warranty information.
A heatsink can complicate installation
A low-profile heatsink is not proof of compatibility with every PS5 installation, and a larger desktop heatsink may not clear every PC enclosure or motherboard layout. CORSAIR positions LPX for PS5 and XT for desktop PCs, but verify the host’s M.2 slot guidance and physical clearance before buying. That check matters especially if the system has its own M.2 cover or heatsink.

Maximum sequential speeds do not describe every workload
The product-page speed figures are manufacturer-rated sequential maximums. The cited material does not establish actual game load times, sustained transfer performance, thermal behavior in a particular system, failure rates, or how the drives compare in independent testing. Treat the specifications as one comparison point rather than a promise of a particular real-world result.
How to choose an MP600 model
- Identify the host. Decide whether the drive is for a desktop PC, PS5, or another device, then check that host’s M.2 slot requirements.
- Check the physical configuration. Compare the exact model’s heatsink profile with the available clearance. The family includes no-heatsink, low-profile, and larger-heatsink designs.
- Compare the exact capacity and SKU. Use the product page for the capacity you intend to buy; the cited 1TB PRO and 2TB PRO LPX pages publish different speed figures.
- Review the specifications that matter to your use. Check rated sequential speeds, endurance information, NAND specification, and warranty terms on that exact product page. Do not assume a family-level statement applies to every MP600 2280 drive.
- Check current price and purchase terms. Prices and regional warranty eligibility are not established by the cited product specifications, so confirm them with the seller before deciding.
Verdict
The MP600 series is worth considering if you want a PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD and can match a specific model’s capacity, published specifications, and heatsink to your host. The most important caveat is the family name: choose by exact SKU and physical fit, not by “MP600” or a speed figure quoted for another variant.
