Choose the Corsair K55 RGB Pro if dedicated media buttons, five-zone RGB, its soft detachable palm rest, or Stream Deck integration matter most. Choose the Skiff 100 Plus if you want a volume-and-playback dial, 10-zone RGB, an IP53 rating, or console support beyond the PC and Mac compatibility listed for the K55. Both are wired, full-size membrane keyboards with rubber-dome switches and six programmable macro keys. Neither is a mechanical keyboard, and the Skiff’s documented 12-key selective rollover is not full N-key rollover.
The comparison below uses Corsair’s current model comparison and Skiff product page, plus a GamesRadar review published October 9, 2026. Prices and stock change by country, so verify the exact listing immediately before buying.
Quick verdict
| If your priority is… | Buy… | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Separate media buttons and macro-focused controls | K55 RGB Pro | Six dedicated macro keys, dedicated media hotkeys and documented Stream Deck software integration. |
| A physical dial for volume and playback | Skiff 100 Plus | Its rotary control combines volume and media functions without using separate buttons. |
| More lighting zones | Skiff 100 Plus | 10-zone RGB versus five-zone RGB on the K55. |
| Console compatibility | Skiff 100 Plus | Corsair lists Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 and PS5 in addition to PC and Mac. |
| A detachable soft palm rest | K55 RGB Pro | The supplied rest is soft and textured, rather than a simple hard plastic support. |
| Ingress protection | Skiff 100 Plus | IP53 is a higher rating than the K55’s IP42, although neither keyboard is waterproof. |
For a similarly priced purchase, the decision is therefore about controls, lighting, platforms and ergonomics—not a proven difference in gaming speed. No controlled head-to-head latency, durability, noise or typing test for these exact models has been published in the sources available for this comparison.
What both keyboards have in common
Full-size wired layouts
Both keyboards use a conventional full-size layout with a number pad and a wired USB connection. They are membrane designs: pressing a key pushes a rubber dome against a conductive contact. That construction generally costs less and produces less noise than many mechanical switches, while providing a softer, less sharply defined key feel.
#1 Best Overall

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The Skiff 100 Plus uses a 104-key matrix, according to its official product page. The K55 RGB Pro is also a full-size board. Neither model offers a detachable USB cable or a USB passthrough in the evidence available here. GamesRadar specifically reports that the Skiff’s rubber cable is permanently attached and that it has no USB passthrough.
Six dedicated macro keys
Each model places six extra programmable keys along the left side. Corsair calls the Skiff keys “G-keys”; the K55 launch material describes six dedicated macro keys. They can be useful for push-to-talk, application shortcuts, repeated commands or game actions that would otherwise require a multi-key combination.
The number of keys is not the important difference. Software support and the way you assign actions determine whether they fit your workflow. Corsair’s K55 launch announcement explicitly cites integration with Elgato Stream Deck software, which can make the K55 attractive if you already organize shortcuts in that ecosystem. The comparison material does not establish an equivalent Stream Deck integration for the Skiff, so do not assume feature parity.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsMembrane sound and feel
Corsair’s Skiff product copy says, “Membrane keys won’t annoy your roommates.” That is marketing language, not a measured noise level. A GamesRadar reviewer describes the Skiff’s keystrokes as smooth, with tactility arriving at the bottom of a press, and notes that the alphanumeric keys feel different from larger keys such as the space bar. This is one reviewer’s subjective impression, not a laboratory comparison with the K55.
Membrane keyboards can vary from unit to unit and across key sizes. If you are sensitive to bottom-out feel, spring weight or key wobble, try the exact model or buy from a retailer with a suitable return policy. The available sources do not establish actuation force, latency, switch life or a direct typing winner.

Controls: buttons versus a dial
K55 RGB Pro: fast, separate media keys
The K55 provides dedicated media hotkeys. You can mute, pause or skip without changing the current macro layer or reaching for an on-screen control. This layout suits users who prefer a clearly labeled button for each action and those who frequently control music or video while gaming.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Its macro keys are positioned separately from the main typing area, reducing the chance of confusing a macro with a letter. The launch announcement also identifies six preset onboard lighting effects, so basic lighting changes do not depend entirely on software.
Skiff 100 Plus: one-handed volume adjustment
The Skiff replaces separate volume adjustment with a rotary dial while retaining media functions. A dial is useful when you make frequent, small volume changes: turn it gradually rather than tapping a button repeatedly. It also keeps media control in one physical cluster, which may be more convenient on a streaming or console desk.
Choose the K55 if you need a distinct button for every media command; choose the Skiff if continuous volume control is the feature you will use every day. Neither control arrangement is objectively faster for every user.

Lighting and appearance
The K55 RGB Pro divides its backlight into five RGB zones and includes six preset onboard effects. The Skiff 100 Plus divides lighting into 10 zones. Ten zones can create more segmented color patterns across the board, while five zones may be sufficient if you want a simple static color or broad effects.
Zone count does not tell you brightness, software quality, per-key control, or animation smoothness. The available specifications establish only the number of zones and, for the K55, the six onboard presets. If lighting is central to your setup, verify the current software controls and view photographs of the exact regional model rather than inferring quality from the zone count.
Comfort, desk space and protection
Wrist rests
The K55 includes a detachable soft, textured palm rest. Soft material can reduce the hard edge against your wrists during long sessions, although its height and firmness may not suit every hand position. The Skiff includes a detachable wrist rest, but the supplied information does not establish that it uses the same soft material. Compare the shape in person if wrist comfort is a deciding factor.
IP42 versus IP53
IP ratings describe resistance to ingress under specified test conditions, not general spill-proofing. The K55’s IP42 rating indicates protection against objects larger than 1 mm and vertically dripping water when tilted up to 15 degrees. The Skiff’s IP53 rating indicates dust protection that is not complete dust-tightness and protection against water spray up to 60 degrees from vertical. Neither rating makes the keyboard waterproof or safe to submerge. Disconnect power and follow the manufacturer’s cleaning guidance after any spill.
Both are full-size boards, so measure the available width and depth before ordering. Leave room for the wrist rest and for the Skiff’s fixed cable to reach your computer without a sharp bend.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Rollover and gaming expectations
Rollover is the number of simultaneous key presses a keyboard can detect and report correctly. Corsair specifies 12-key selective rollover for the Skiff 100 Plus. “Selective” means the anti-ghosting design covers a stated set of keys, not every possible combination. It is therefore inaccurate to call the Skiff full N-key rollover.
The reviewed material does not state an exact rollover figure for the K55 RGB Pro. Do not assume it matches the Skiff or advertise a number that Corsair has not published in the cited sources. For ordinary typing, shortcuts and most games, both boards may be adequate; players who intentionally hold many simultaneous inputs should test their own key combinations.

Computers
Corsair’s comparison lists the K55 for PC and Mac. The same comparison lists the Skiff for PC and Mac plus four console families. A platform listing does not guarantee that every macro, lighting control or media function works identically on each operating system. Check the current manual and software support for your operating system before purchase.
Consoles
The Skiff is the safer choice when one keyboard must move between a computer and Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 or PS5, because Corsair explicitly lists those systems. Console games still decide whether keyboard input is allowed, and game-level support is separate from keyboard detection. The K55’s reviewed compatibility listing covers PC and Mac only.

Macro and lighting setup
- Connect the keyboard directly to a USB port on the target device before adding hubs or extension cables.
- Confirm that the operating system detects a full-size USB keyboard and test ordinary letter, number-pad and media keys.
- Install Corsair’s current supported configuration software only from Corsair’s official site if you need macros, lighting profiles or device-specific controls.
- Assign one simple macro first, such as opening a program or sending a harmless shortcut, then test it in the application where you will use it.
- Save a profile with a clear name and keep a second profile with default key behavior for troubleshooting.
- On a console, test keyboard input in the console’s settings and in the intended game; do not assume PC macro software is available on the console.
The K55’s documented Stream Deck integration is a specific advantage for users already building Stream Deck profiles. The sources do not establish that the Skiff offers the same integration.
Best Value

Price, warranty and buying timing
GamesRadar’s October 9, 2026 review lists the Skiff 100 Plus at $59.99 in the United States and £59.99 in the United Kingdom, with observed discounts around $49.99 and £39.99 at review time. Those are time- and region-specific observations, not guaranteed current prices. The official Skiff page lists a two-year warranty; the reviewed sources do not state a K55 warranty period.
Before checkout, verify the currency, keyboard layout, seller, return terms, warranty region and exact model number. The Skiff product page identifies model CH-9226I65-NA. Promotions can make the newer Skiff cheaper than the K55 in one country while the reverse is true elsewhere, so compare the delivered price rather than an old list price.
Which keyboard fits your use case?
Choose the K55 RGB Pro when…
- You want dedicated media buttons instead of a rotary dial.
- You value a soft, textured detachable palm rest.
- You plan to use the six macro keys with documented Stream Deck software integration.
- Five-zone RGB and six onboard effects are enough for your setup.
- Your supported device is a PC or Mac and you do not need the Skiff’s listed console compatibility.
Choose the Skiff 100 Plus when…
- A physical volume and playback dial is more useful than separate media hotkeys.
- You want 10-zone RGB segmentation.
- You need Corsair’s listed support for Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PS4 or PS5 as well as PC and Mac.
- The higher IP53 rating is preferable for your environment, while understanding it is not waterproofing.
- You are comfortable with documented 12-key selective rollover rather than full N-key rollover.
Consider neither if…
- You specifically need mechanical-switch feel, hot-swappable switches or a documented actuation and latency test.
- You require USB passthrough; GamesRadar reports that the Skiff has none, and the reviewed K55 material does not establish one.
- You need a compact layout and cannot accommodate a full-size number pad.
- You require a published K55 rollover figure before buying.
Common pitfalls and fixes
Confusing selective rollover with N-key rollover
Do not treat “12-key selective rollover” as an unlimited simultaneous-input guarantee. Test the combinations used by your games, and choose a different keyboard if your workload requires documented N-key behavior.
Assuming IP53 means spill-proof
IP53 covers specified dust and spray conditions, not a cup of liquid poured over the keys. Keep drinks away, disconnect the keyboard after a spill and follow Corsair’s care instructions.
Buying on an outdated price
Use the October 9, 2026 figures only as a reference point. Check the live regional listing, shipping cost and return policy on the day you order.
Expecting identical membrane feel
Even two rubber-dome keyboards can differ in dome formulation, keycap shape and stabilizer feel. The Skiff review reports variation between its main and larger keys; this does not predict the K55’s feel. If typing comfort is critical, test or buy with a return option.
Bottom line
The K55 RGB Pro is the better fit for macro-centric PC or Mac desks that benefit from dedicated media buttons, five-zone lighting, a soft palm rest and Stream Deck integration. The Skiff 100 Plus is the more versatile choice for users who prefer a rotary dial, 10-zone RGB, a higher IP rating and Corsair-listed compatibility with current and previous PlayStation and Xbox consoles. Both remain full-size rubber-dome keyboards, and the available evidence does not show that either delivers a measurable gaming, typing, noise or durability advantage over the other. Let your control layout, platform and comfort priorities—and the live local price—decide.
