Yes. HubSpot says its Brand Identity feature can use a configured website domain to gather brand context for AI-generated content. If the site is stale or inaccurate, that context could be inaccurate too—but HubSpot’s documentation does not say the system detects which website statements are wrong. To address the problem, update the public source pages, refresh the website crawl, inspect the resulting context, and manually correct anything that needs explicit handling.
What HubSpot learns from a website
HubSpot describes Brand Identity as a source of context for AI content generation. Its AI can crawl a configured company domain and gather information such as brand voice and tone, ideal client profile, products, and competitive information. HubSpot says this context can be referenced when creating blogs, landing pages, and case studies.
That makes the website an input to the process, not proof that every detail on it is current or correct. If public pages contain outdated positioning, product descriptions, terminology, or examples of the brand’s voice, it is reasonable to expect those pages could contribute misleading context. That is an inference from the documented input mechanism, not a published measurement of how often inaccurate pages affect output.
What to do when the website is wrong
Work on the public source and HubSpot’s stored context as separate tasks. Updating one does not automatically accomplish the other.
#1 Best Overall
1. Identify the intended source material
Decide which pages and examples should represent the current brand. Check positioning, product descriptions, audience information, approved terminology, and voice examples. Prioritize pages that are obsolete, contradictory, or likely to be relevant to the content you plan to generate.
2. Correct public pages that should no longer represent the brand
Update inaccurate or outdated material on the website through your normal publishing process. This is the change that affects what visitors see. A HubSpot crawl can collect information from a site, but the documented Brand Identity controls do not correct the public website for you.

3. Refresh the website crawl in HubSpot
In HubSpot, start a website crawl from the Brand area. The documented workflow includes an option to update Brand Voice if desired. HubSpot says information found by the crawl is added to the Additional Context area. Because interface labels and access can vary, confirm the current workflow in your account.
4. Inspect the sources and correct the context
Review the sources shown in the Additional Context table. Manually edit existing context or add information that needs to be explicit—for example, a preferred product name, a current audience description, or a rule about claims the brand should not make. HubSpot says manually updated information is not replaced by crawl results.
Rank #3
5. Test with a small, representative draft
Generate a limited piece of content that resembles the work your team expects to produce. Have someone familiar with the brand check the facts, terminology, voice, and claims before anything is published. This is a prudent review step, not a guarantee of correctness or a claim about HubSpot’s error rate. HubSpot’s editorial guidance also recommends checking AI output for accuracy and brand alignment and providing style guidance and examples.
Website fixes and HubSpot context fixes serve different purposes
| Correction | What it changes | What it does not do |
|---|---|---|
| Update the website | Corrects the public source pages visitors can read and gives a later crawl more current material to use. | Does not by itself establish that HubSpot’s stored context has been refreshed or manually corrected. |
| Refresh the crawl and edit Additional Context | Updates or supplements the context available to HubSpot’s AI; manual edits can preserve information that should not be replaced by crawl results. | Does not change inaccurate public pages or establish that every contradiction on the site has been identified. |
If the issue is only with how AI-generated content describes the brand, reviewing and editing context may be the immediate step. If public visitors also encounter the wrong information, correct the website as well. The two fixes have different owners and outcomes, and either may need ongoing maintenance.
Brand Identity and Brand Voice are related, not interchangeable
HubSpot describes Brand Identity as contextual information used in generating content such as blogs, landing pages, and case studies. Separately, Breeze editor tools describe applying a configured brand voice to selected text. These are related capabilities, but the documentation does not make them a single control or guarantee identical coverage across workflows. Check which feature and permissions are available for the specific content tool in your account.

Check access before planning the workflow
HubSpot’s Brand Identity help documentation lists Professional and Enterprise subscriptions for several named Hubs and Smart CRM. It also lists prerequisites including generative AI access, configured AI data sources, and a company name and domain. For accounts using Brands, a domain or subdomain should be set for each Brand. Breeze documentation also describes AI settings and content permissions. Subscription and access requirements can change, so verify the current documentation and your account’s settings before relying on a particular feature.
What the documented workflow does not establish
- It does not establish that HubSpot crawls every page on a domain.
- It does not establish that the system can reliably spot false, outdated, or contradictory website statements.
- It does not guarantee that refreshed context will make generated content accurate or on-brand.
- It does not update the public website when you edit HubSpot context.
Use the crawl as a way to gather context, then treat the source list and generated drafts as material for human review. The team remains responsible for deciding which information is authoritative and correcting the website where needed.
