Choose the COROS PACE 4 Pro if offline maps, a larger and brighter display, premium bezel and glass materials, or its longer claimed GPS endurance matter most. Choose the Garmin Forerunner 265 if you want Garmin Pay, supported music-streaming services, ANT+ accessories, Connect IQ apps, or Garmin’s connected training features. They are both running watches, but their strengths—and their published battery estimates—are not directly interchangeable.

One distinction matters before comparing results: the PACE 4 Pro is a separate model from the standard PACE 4. A 2025 half-marathon comparison tested the standard PACE 4 with the Forerunner 265, not the Pro, so its test results cannot establish how the PACE 4 Pro performs against Garmin’s watch. This comparison uses the available PACE 4 Pro review and product information alongside Garmin’s current Forerunner 265 specifications.

At a glance: which watch suits which runner?

Your priority Better-supported choice Why
Offline maps with named roads and trails COROS PACE 4 Pro A review describes downloadable offline maps and turn-by-turn route following.
Garmin Pay or supported streaming playlists Garmin Forerunner 265 Garmin lists both features; supported music services may require a premium subscription.
ANT+ accessories or third-party watch apps Garmin Forerunner 265 Garmin lists ANT+ and Connect IQ support.
Longer stated endurance in the cited GPS estimate COROS PACE 4 Pro T3 reports up to 60 hours in a stated GPS mode, but the mode differs from Garmin’s GPS-only figure.
Case and display materials COROS PACE 4 Pro T3 reports a titanium bezel and sapphire crystal. Garmin lists a fiber-reinforced polymer bezel and Gorilla Glass 3 for the 46 mm Forerunner 265.
Garmin training services and connected features Garmin Forerunner 265 Garmin describes adaptive training options, PacePro, and connected features.
Fit and comfort Try the exact size if possible The 265 comes in 42 mm and 46 mm versions. T3 lists the PACE 4 Pro at 47.6 mm and 43 g with a nylon strap; measurements alone do not establish how either watch will fit you.

This is a priorities comparison, not a claim that one watch wins every run. A runner who uses maps on unfamiliar routes may value a different capability than someone who pays from the watch or pairs ANT+ accessories. Start with the feature you will actually use, then check size, local price, and the exact battery mode behind any endurance claim.

Maps and route guidance are the clearest practical difference

PACE 4 Pro: offline maps

The PACE 4 Pro’s strongest navigation distinction in the available comparison is offline mapping. T3’s September 2026 review describes downloadable maps and turn-by-turn route following, while The5krunner’s feature comparison also identifies maps as a differentiator. That makes the Pro the better-supported choice if you want to view mapped roads and trails on the watch without relying on a live data connection during the activity. The product’s specific mapping coverage, download process, and storage limits are not established in the cited material, so check COROS’s PACE 4 Pro specifications for current details before relying on a particular area or workflow.

  • Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.

  • 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.

Forerunner 265: route navigation is not the same as full maps

The comparison sources describe route navigation on the Forerunner 265, but do not establish built-in full maps equivalent to the PACE 4 Pro’s offline maps. Following a route and viewing a detailed map are different needs: route guidance can help you stay on a planned course, while a map is more useful when you need geographic context such as nearby roads and trails. If you routinely explore unfamiliar terrain and want that context on your wrist, the evidence favors the PACE 4 Pro. If you mainly follow a route you have already planned, do not assume the Garmin is unsuitable; confirm the navigation display and route workflow you need before purchase.

For either watch, decide what “navigation” means in your own runs. A breadcrumb or course-following display may be enough for a familiar loop, while mapped surroundings can matter on an unfamiliar trail. The sources do not provide a head-to-head navigation test between the PACE 4 Pro and 265, so this distinction is based on the features reported, not a claim about comparative accuracy or ease of use.

Battery: compare modes, not just the largest number

The headline figures look very different, but they do not describe the same test mode. T3 reports a COROS PACE 4 Pro claim of up to 60 hours in one GPS mode, or up to 46 hours with the always-on display. Garmin lists up to 20 hours for the 46 mm Forerunner 265 in GPS-only GNSS mode. The5krunner explicitly notes that its comparison places COROS All Systems mode beside Garmin GPS-only mode. Because the modes differ, the figures do not support a clean, apples-to-apples claim that one lasts a specific number of times longer.

Watch and estimate Published figure Qualification
COROS PACE 4 Pro Up to 60 hours; up to 46 hours with always-on display T3’s 2026 review reports these as product claims for selected GPS conditions, not independent benchmark results. COROS says actual battery life varies with music, backlight, navigation, other feature use, and settings.
Garmin Forerunner 265, 46 mm Up to 13 days smartwatch mode; up to 20 hours GPS-only GNSS mode Garmin’s product page accessed in 2026 lists shorter estimates for other GNSS and music configurations. These are manufacturer estimates, not a direct test against COROS.

Battery choice depends on how you run and which features stay active. Always-on display use changes the PACE 4 Pro figure; Garmin’s listed estimates also vary by GNSS and music configuration. Navigation, backlight, music, and settings can affect COROS endurance according to its official page. Treat “up to” as a mode-specific estimate rather than a promise for every workout or everyday routine.

If your priority is fewer charges on long GPS activities, the PACE 4 Pro has the larger cited maximum, but only in the context of its stated mode. If you need an exact comparison for a particular route duration, display setting, satellite configuration, or music use, the published figures here are insufficient to calculate one. Do not use a watch’s headline GPS estimate as a substitute for checking the mode you plan to use.

Display, materials, size, and weight

PACE 4 Pro: larger, brighter display and premium materials

T3 characterizes the PACE 4 Pro’s display as larger and brighter than the Forerunner 265’s, and reports a titanium bezel and sapphire crystal. The cited information does not include a measured brightness value or a like-for-like display-size figure for both watches, so treat those display descriptions as review findings rather than a quantified screen test. The reported materials may appeal if you put a premium on the bezel and crystal, but the available sources do not establish how either watch will hold up under every kind of impact or wear.

Forerunner 265: two case sizes

Garmin lists the 46 mm Forerunner 265 with a 1.3-inch, 416 × 416-pixel display, a fiber-reinforced polymer bezel, Gorilla Glass 3, and a weight of 47 g. Garmin’s 2023 announcement identifies the Forerunner 265 and 265S as the 46 mm and 42 mm options, respectively. The cited 1.3-inch display, resolution, material, weight, and battery figures refer to the 46 mm model; do not assume they all apply to the smaller 42 mm version.

T3 reports the PACE 4 Pro at 47.6 mm and 43 g with a nylon strap. That is a little lighter than Garmin’s listed 47 g for the 46 mm 265, but the weights are reported by different sources and describe a COROS watch with a specified strap. The difference alone cannot determine comfort. Wrist shape, case size, strap, and personal preference all affect fit, and the available evidence does not include a controlled comfort comparison.

If you are choosing between them primarily for fit, compare the exact version you intend to buy with a watch you already wear or try it in person. Garmin offers a smaller 42 mm model as well as the 46 mm model; the cited PACE 4 Pro measurement is 47.6 mm. A larger case may suit someone who prefers a broad display, but it may feel too large on another runner’s wrist. Specs narrow the options; they do not replace a fit check.

Smartwatch features and the ecosystems around them

Choose Garmin for payments, streaming, and app options

Garmin lists Garmin Pay, music-service downloads, ANT+, and Connect IQ for the Forerunner 265. These features make it the stronger fit if you want to pay from your watch, use supported streaming services, connect compatible ANT+ accessories, or add apps and watch faces through Garmin’s ecosystem. Availability can depend on region and supported services. Garmin’s product information also notes that supported music services require a premium subscription, so confirm that your service and account qualify rather than assuming the watch includes a subscription.

ANT+ can matter if you already own compatible accessories and want to use them with your watch. Connect IQ matters if you value third-party watch apps or other additions to Garmin’s platform. Those are ecosystem advantages, not guarantees that every accessory or app will work: verify compatibility for the specific device or service you rely on. Garmin’s current Singapore product page lists the Forerunner 265’s specifications, while its 2023 Forerunner 265 announcement describes its training and connected approach.

Choose according to what you will actually use

The available sources establish a clearer case for Garmin on those named services and integrations than on a general “smartwatch” score. If you never pay with a watch, do not subscribe to a supported streaming service, and have no ANT+ accessories or interest in Connect IQ, those features may not justify choosing it over the PACE 4 Pro. Conversely, if any one of them is part of your routine, a map or battery advantage you would rarely use may be less valuable than a working feature you use every week.

The sources do not provide a full, feature-by-feature comparison of phone notifications, app behavior, or every connected function on both watches. Avoid assuming that an unlisted COROS capability is absent, or that a Garmin service behaves identically in every country. For a purchase decision, verify the functions that depend on your location, account, phone, or accessory before paying.

Training features: Garmin’s services versus the needs of your plan

Garmin’s materials describe adaptive training options, PacePro, and connected features for the Forerunner 265. These are reasons to favor Garmin if you want its training services and planning tools. The available sources do not offer a complete feature-by-feature audit of the PACE 4 Pro’s training software, nor do they establish that one watch produces better training outcomes. A feature list can tell you what is available; it cannot show whether a given recommendation will fit your goals, experience, or coaching plan.

Think through the training decisions you want a watch to support. If you value Garmin’s named tools and want to use them as part of your training workflow, the Forerunner 265 is the more directly supported choice. If your main requirements are mapped routes, display and materials, or the PACE 4 Pro’s stated endurance, those strengths may matter more than a training feature you will not use. No cited population-level study establishes that either model improves performance, and the reviewed product claims are not research statistics.

What the reviews do—and do not—show

T3’s September 2026 review describes the PACE 4 Pro after use across runs, gym sessions, and daily life, and reports its light feel, offline maps, titanium bezel, and sapphire crystal. Those are reviewer observations about the Pro itself. They help establish that the model is a real, distinct product and provide context beyond a specification sheet, but they are not a controlled comparison against the Forerunner 265.

Tom’s Guide writer Nick Harris-Fry tested the standard PACE 4 and Forerunner 265 together on runs including a 10K and half marathon. The article reports mostly good results for both and discusses differences in GPS tracks and optical heart-rate performance compared with a chest strap. That is useful background on the standard PACE 4 and Garmin comparison, but it is not a test of the PACE 4 Pro. Do not transfer its GPS or heart-rate results to the Pro, or treat those observations as proof of how these two exact models compare.

The5krunner publishes a direct PACE 4 Pro and Forerunner 265 feature comparison and calls out the difference between COROS All Systems and Garmin GPS-only battery modes. For a specification-based decision, that warning is important: a single endurance number without its mode can mislead. None of these sources establishes a controlled, same-route, same-settings performance test of the PACE 4 Pro against the Forerunner 265.

Price, launch timing, and checking a current offer

T3 reported the PACE 4 Pro at a launch/review-market price of £389, $449, or AU$779 in 2026. These are not guaranteed current offers. The Forerunner 265 launched on 31 March 2023, according to Garmin Singapore’s announcement; the cited Garmin product page supplies specifications but no comparable live price in this material. Because prices, stock, regional offers, and product availability change, compare current local listings for the exact model and size rather than treating the PACE 4 Pro’s review-market figures as a price match.

Before buying, confirm that a listing says PACE 4 Pro rather than standard PACE 4, and identify whether a Forerunner listing is the 42 mm or 46 mm model. Those checks prevent a model mismatch from undermining the comparison. Also check whether the local version or service region supports the payment, music, or connected features you want, and whether any streaming service requires a paid subscription.

A practical decision checklist

  1. Start with your must-have feature. Pick the PACE 4 Pro if offline maps and turn-by-turn route following are central. Pick the Forerunner 265 if Garmin Pay, supported streaming, ANT+, Connect IQ, or Garmin training services are more important.
  2. Match the battery claim to your mode. Compare COROS’s stated GPS mode with the Garmin mode you expect to use, including whether you use music or a different GNSS configuration. Do not compare the 60-hour COROS claim directly with Garmin’s 20-hour GPS-only estimate as if they were measured under identical conditions.
  3. Check the actual case size. The Forerunner 265 is sold in 42 mm and 46 mm versions; the PACE 4 Pro is reported at 47.6 mm. Try the intended size if comfort is a deciding factor.
  4. Verify services and accessories. Check regional availability and subscription requirements for streaming, and compatibility for any ANT+ accessory or Connect IQ addition you depend on.
  5. Compare today’s local price. The PACE 4 Pro prices reported by T3 are 2026 launch/review-market figures, not a live quote. Use current listings for both exact models and compare like for like.
  6. Keep model evidence separate. The PACE 4 and PACE 4 Pro are different watches. A standard PACE 4 test is not evidence of the Pro’s performance.

Verdict

The COROS PACE 4 Pro is the more compelling choice for runners who want offline maps, a larger and brighter screen, the reported titanium-and-sapphire construction, or the longer stated GPS endurance—provided they understand that endurance claim is mode-specific. The Garmin Forerunner 265 is the stronger fit for runners who will use Garmin Pay, supported music services, ANT+ accessories, Connect IQ, or Garmin’s training features. For size-sensitive buyers, the 265’s 42 mm and 46 mm choices are meaningful; for price-sensitive buyers, current local offers matter more than an older review-market figure. Choose by the feature you will use most, not by an unqualified battery number or a test of a different COROS model.
