The COROS PACE 4 Pro is a premium GPS training watch built around a large AMOLED display, substantial navigation tools and long manufacturer-rated battery life. GadgetGuy reviewer Jay Marshall rated it 9.1/10 after several weeks of running and trail use, praising its comfort, display and value while flagging the interface, notifications and heart-rate experience as drawbacks. COROS lists an Australian RRP of A$799 in the 2026 review; its U.S. purchase page displayed US$449 when checked on 7 October 2026. Those are separate regional prices, not a like-for-like comparison.

What does the PACE 4 Pro cost?

GadgetGuy reported an Australian recommended retail price of A$799 in its review published 25 September 2026. COROS’s U.S. purchase page displayed US$449 when retrieved on 7 October 2026. These prices apply to different markets and may change; check the local COROS page or retailer for current price, stock, warranty and included band.

What you get: display, materials and fit

COROS specifies a 1.47-inch, 466 × 466 LTPO AMOLED display covered by sapphire glass, with a TC4 titanium-alloy bezel. The case measures 47.6 × 47.6 × 11.8 mm. The watch weighs 43 g with the nylon band or 51 g with silicone, and uses a 22 mm quick-release band.

Marshall tested the black nylon version and described it as comfortable and secure during runs. That is a personal fit impression; wrist size and band choice affect how a 47.6 mm case feels. The reviewer praised the display’s brightness and room for activity data, but felt the interface did not make full use of the screen and that notifications were not visually distinctive.

Battery life depends on GPS and display settings

COROS’s published figures are maximum estimates, not guaranteed runtime. Its specification page, retrieved 7 October 2026, gives these durations:

Use or GPS mode Display setting COROS estimate
Daily use Standard Up to 21 days
Daily use Always-on display Up to 7 days
High GPS (all satellite systems; single frequency) Standard Up to 60 hours
High GPS Always-on display Up to 45 hours
Max GPS (dual frequency) Standard Up to 40 hours
Max GPS Always-on display Up to 30 hours

COROS describes High as intended for open terrain and Max dual-frequency GPS as the option for more complex environments, such as urban canyons and dense forests. Music playback, navigation, backlight use and other settings can reduce runtime, so choose the figure for the mode you actually expect to use rather than treating the longest number as typical.

Offline maps and route guidance

The PACE 4 Pro supports downloadable offline maps, street and trail names, points of interest and turn-by-turn navigation, with 32 GB of onboard storage, according to COROS. Marshall found maps and route guidance useful on trails during testing. These tools make the watch more than a device for recording pace and distance, though a watch map is not a substitute for planning a route or carrying an appropriate backup in remote areas.

GPS and heart-rate experience in the review

Marshall says GPS performance was accurate on their repeated runs using the default High setting, and that they switched to Max when they wanted more accuracy. This is one reviewer’s experience over several weeks, not a controlled accuracy test or a guarantee for other routes, devices or conditions.

The reviewer also found their wrist heart-rate readings generally 10–20 bpm below what they personally expected. After pairing COROS’s arm-worn Heart Rate Monitor, Marshall considered the readings accurate for their use. Wrist optical sensing can vary with fit and individual circumstances; this report does not establish a general accuracy problem, and the optional accessory is not shown to be necessary for every wearer. COROS says the watch supports Bluetooth heart-rate monitors.

Training, sensors and everyday features

COROS lists optical heart-rate sensing, SpO2, ECG, a speaker and microphone, and compatibility with Bluetooth heart-rate monitors, cycling power meters, cadence sensors, speed sensors and the COROS POD 2. The watch can store music and play it through supported Bluetooth headphones. Marshall says activity pages can display up to 11 selected fields and describes a separate 13-field Multi-Data Activity page.

Payments and flashlight: two details to check

Marshall’s review reports that the watch does not support NFC payments. If contactless payment from the wrist is important, verify support for your region and service before buying; the reviewed feature set does not establish payment availability.

There is conflicting information about the flashlight. Marshall’s review says there is no dedicated LED flashlight and describes using the screen as a light, while COROS’s current product page lists a built-in flashlight feature. The available descriptions do not establish whether COROS means a separate LED or a screen-based light, nor do they specify the firmware context needed to reconcile them. Do not assume a dedicated LED; confirm the implementation with COROS for the specific model and software version.

How to decide if it suits your training

The PACE 4 Pro makes most sense for runners and multisport athletes who will use its maps, route guidance, large display and training data. Compare it with other watches against the demands that matter in your routine:

  • Comfort and size: Consider the 47.6 mm case, weight and band material on your own wrist, not just the display size.
  • Battery in your chosen mode: Compare the advertised duration for the GPS mode and always-on display setting you plan to use, accounting for music, maps and backlight.
  • Navigation and training: Check whether downloadable maps, turn-by-turn guidance, activity data fields and the sensors you already own match your routes and workouts.
  • Everyday use: Decide whether the reported interface and notification limitations, payment uncertainty and unresolved flashlight description matter to you.
  • Local purchase terms: Check current price, availability, warranty and band option in your market; the Australian and U.S. figures above refer to different regions.

Marshall’s overall verdict was strongly positive: “From the various sports watches I’ve tested, this is my watch of the year so far.” That is the reviewer’s 2026 editorial judgment, not a universal ranking. Their 9.1/10 score reflects the combination of comfort, screen, maps and battery life against the interface and sensor reservations they encountered.
