Playing with friends? Godlike.Host runs hosted Core Keeper servers from 10 data-center locations, with free DDoS protection.
Core Keeper does not have a verified, publisher-documented console-command list for dedicated servers. The most detailed 2026 hosting documentation says the game has no chat commands, no RCON interface and a disabled developer console in its stock server. In vanilla play, administrators manage players from the in-game Pause menu instead of typing commands.
Several community pages still publish slash commands such as /kick, /ban and /teleport. Treat those lists as unverified until you test them on the exact server build you run. Older articles often describe commands supplied by a third-party ChatCommands mod, not by Core Keeper itself.
What “Core Keeper console commands” means in practice
For a dedicated-server administrator, a console command normally means text entered into a server terminal, an RCON client or an in-game chat box. Current evidence does not establish any of those as a supported vanilla Core Keeper interface. A Supercraft hosting guide checked against build 1.2.1.5 on September 17, 2026, reports that Core Keeper has no chat commands, no RCON and a disabled developer console. No official command reference from Pugstorm was located.
That distinction matters because a command copied from a search result can fail for several different reasons: it may belong to a mod, apply to an obsolete build, be intended for another game, or simply be an untested community claim. Do not build an administration procedure around a command until you have identified its source and verified it on a disposable server using the same build as production.

Evidence at a glance
| Source or claim | What it says | How to use it |
|---|---|---|
| Supercraft wiki, checked September 17, 2026 | No chat commands, no RCON and a disabled developer console in the stock game. | Most detailed current secondary source; still not publisher documentation. |
| Nodecraft support article, 2026 | Administrators are added in-game from the Pause menu after a restart. | Use this as the practical vanilla administration path. |
| SurvivalConfigs community page | Lists /help, /list, /kick, /ban, /save, /spawn, /teleport and /time, plus an admin-list procedure. |
Low-confidence, conflicting evidence; do not treat as a built-in command reference. |
| Older GameSkinny guides | Describe commands such as /give, /kick and /spawnitem through a third-party ChatCommands mod. |

How to add an admin on a dedicated server
The supported workflow described by the 2026 hosting documentation is performed in the game client, not at a server prompt. The account that owns or currently controls the world must join after the server has restarted and then promote the desired player from the Pause menu.
- Stop the server cleanly. Ask players to leave, then use your host’s stop control or the server process’s normal shutdown method. A clean stop reduces the chance of a world-save conflict.
- Start the server again. Nodecraft’s instructions specifically place the admin change after a restart. Wait until the server is accepting connections rather than entering the world while it is still loading.
- Join with the controlling account. Use the account that already has authority over the world. If nobody in the session can open player-management controls, reconnect with the original owner account rather than trying random slash commands.
- Open the Pause menu. While in the world, pause the game and open the player-management or multiplayer section. The exact wording can vary by build and hosting interface.
- Select the player to promote. Choose the intended account from the connected-player list and use the control for granting administrator or host privileges. Confirm the change if the game displays a prompt.
- Have the promoted player reconnect. Ask the new administrator to leave and rejoin, then verify that the additional management controls appear. This confirms the permission change before you rely on it during an incident.
If the promotion control is missing, first confirm that you joined with the world owner account and that the server completed its restart. A player name alone may not be enough to identify an account; use the in-game identity information shown by the client and avoid editing undocumented save files.

Community slash commands: a status guide
SurvivalConfigs publishes the following slash-command names, but that list conflicts with the no-chat-command finding in the more recent Supercraft guide and has not been confirmed by Pugstorm. The table is useful for recognizing what you may encounter in forum posts, not as a promise that any command will run on your server.

/save |
Request a world save | Unverified | Use the server’s normal shutdown and save behavior unless your installed documentation says otherwise. |
/spawn |
Spawn something or move to a spawn point | Unverified | Do not use on a live world without a verified, reversible test. |
/teleport |
Move a player or character | Unverified | Assume it is unavailable in vanilla until your build proves otherwise. |
/time |
Inspect or change world time | Unverified | Do not rely on it for scheduled events or automation. |
A command that prints an error, does nothing or appears to work only for the host should not be documented as a server-wide feature. Record the exact build number, server type, installed mods and the command’s result. Remove the test world afterward if the command can alter inventory, terrain or progression.
Why older command guides can be misleading
Commands supplied by ChatCommands
GameSkinny’s older material associates commands including /give, /kick and /spawnitem with a third-party ChatCommands mod. Those instructions describe the mod’s behavior, not a stock Core Keeper dedicated server. A mod can add a chat parser, permissions system or new verbs without changing what the unmodified server supports.
Before using a mod-based guide, identify the exact mod release, the Core Keeper build it supports, where it must be installed (server, client or both), and how it stores permissions. Keep a backup of the world and test the mod on a copy. Never assume that a mod’s /ban behavior matches the game’s own player-management controls.

Build and date differences
Features can change between updates, and community pages often retain old instructions after a server update. The Supercraft result specifically references build 1.2.1.5 and a September 17, 2026 check; that is a useful date stamp, not a guarantee for every later or earlier build. Date your own test and include the build number whenever you publish internal instructions.
Server configuration without a command console
Core Keeper server configuration is driven by startup arguments and a configuration file rather than by an interactive command shell. The exact official option list was not established in the available documentation, so do not copy a generic “15 parameters” list or invent a file name from an unofficial post.
Use the files that ship with the server you actually installed:

ARGUMENTS.txtfor the launch options supported by that build.README.txtfor startup, shutdown and hosting notes supplied with the same distribution.
Open those files after installing or updating the server, record the build number, and make one change at a time. Restart the server after changing an argument, then verify the result in-game. Keep a dated copy of the previous startup line so you can roll back a change that prevents the server from launching.

A safe configuration procedure
- Stop the server and confirm that no process is still writing the world.
- Copy the server folder’s current launch script or argument line to a dated backup.
- Read the installed
ARGUMENTS.txtandREADME.txt; use only options documented for that build. - Change a single setting, preserving quotation marks and spacing exactly as shown.
- Start the server and watch for a normal ready state.
- Join with an administrator account and check the affected behavior.
- If startup fails or the setting has an unexpected effect, restore the backup and retest before changing anything else.
Search summaries have mentioned files such as Admins.json, PlayerBans.json and ServerConfig.json, but those claims were not tied to a fetched, authoritative source. Do not create or edit such files on a live server based solely on a forum snippet. An incorrect edit can lock out legitimate players or damage the world; use documented in-game controls and the files included with your installation instead.
Handling kick and ban requests when no command works
For a disruptive player, use the Pause-menu player-management controls available to the current administrator. A kick removes the player from the active session; a ban, if exposed by your build and host, is a stronger action that should be confirmed before you apply it. Write down the player’s account identifier, time and reason in your private moderation log so another administrator can understand the decision.

If the player reconnects immediately, verify that you used the permanent restriction control rather than only removing the current session. If no ban control is present, do not substitute an unverified /ban command or hand-edit a save file. Stop the server if necessary, preserve the world backup, and consult the host’s documented controls for that build.
Troubleshooting a command or admin procedure
The chat box treats the text as ordinary chat
That behavior is consistent with a server that has no built-in chat-command parser. Check whether the guide you followed requires ChatCommands or another mod. If it does, install and test only the version compatible with your build; otherwise use the Pause menu.
The command returns “unknown” or nothing happens
Record the exact spelling, slash prefix, account role, build number and installed mods. Reproduce it on a disposable server. If the result cannot be reproduced there, remove the command from your operational notes rather than adding more prefixes or changing unrelated settings.
The admin option is missing
Restart the server, reconnect with the original owner account and open the Pause menu after the world finishes loading. Check that the intended player is online and selected. If the control is still absent, compare the installed build with your host’s support instructions and avoid undocumented file edits.
A server update changed behavior
Stop before updating a production world, make a verified backup, and note the old build. After updating, read the new ARGUMENTS.txt and README.txt, then repeat admin and moderation tests on a copy. Do not assume that a previously working mod command remains compatible.
Verification checklist for administrators and documentation writers
- Identify whether the instruction is vanilla, a host feature or a third-party mod.
- Record the Core Keeper server build and the date of the test.
- Confirm whether the action was performed in the Pause menu, server terminal, RCON or chat.
- Use a throwaway server and a test account for commands that change inventory, terrain or permissions.
- Back up the world before testing moderation or configuration changes.
- Keep only commands that produce the expected, repeatable result on the same build.
- When no documented command exists, describe the verified UI workflow instead of publishing a speculative list.
For a stock dedicated server, the dependable operational model is therefore simple: configure the process with the files and launch options shipped with your build, restart cleanly, grant administrator access from the in-game Pause menu, and verify every community command before trusting it. Slash-command pages can point you toward possibilities, but they are not a substitute for publisher documentation or a reproducible test.
