For the best starting point, use Remedy Entertainment’s PC profile closest to your target resolution, frame rate, and ray-tracing preference, then adjust it to your system. The recommended profile targets 1440p at 60 FPS on Medium settings with Balanced upscaling and ray tracing off; it is a target, not a performance guarantee.
Choose a profile for your target
Remedy’s published PC requirements define six profiles spanning standard rendering, ray tracing, and path tracing. The hardware below is the named GPU and CPU for each profile; every profile also requires Windows 10 or Windows 11 64-bit, 16 GB of RAM, and a 120 GB SSD. Remedy specifies an SSD for all PC setups.
| Profile | Target | Graphics and upscaling | Named GPU | Named CPU | VRAM |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | 1080p, 30 FPS | Low; Quality upscaling; ray tracing off | GTX 1070, RX 5600 XT, or Arc A580 | i5-8500 or Ryzen 5 3500 | 6 GB |
| Recommended | 1440p, 60 FPS | Medium; Balanced upscaling; ray tracing off | RTX 3060 Ti, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580 | i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X | 8 GB |
| Enthusiast | 2160p, 60 FPS | High; Performance upscaling; ray tracing off | RTX 3080 or RX 6800 XT | i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X | 10 GB |
| Ray Tracing Minimum | 1080p, 30 FPS | Low; Quality upscaling; Low ray tracing | RTX 2060 SUPER, RX 6600, or Arc A580 | i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X | 8 GB |
| Ray Tracing Recommended | 1440p, 60 FPS | Medium; Balanced upscaling; Medium ray tracing | RTX 4070 Ti or RX 9070 | i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X | 10 GB |
| Path Tracing Enthusiast | 2160p, 60 FPS | High; Performance upscaling; High ray tracing | RTX 5080 | i7-10700 or Ryzen 7 3700X | 12 GB |
These targets come from Remedy Entertainment’s PC requirements. They are publisher profiles, not independent benchmark results or promises that every scene will hold the listed frame rate.
Which settings should you start with?
For smoother performance without ray tracing
Start with the Minimum profile if your hardware is around its listed tier or your priority is a 1080p/30 FPS target. For a 1440p/60 FPS target, use Recommended: Medium graphics, Balanced upscaling, and ray tracing off. If you have hardware around the Enthusiast tier and want 4K at 60 FPS, Remedy’s profile uses High graphics and Performance upscaling, also with ray tracing off.

- IT’S A POWER MOVE: Save the power for your performance; Get power efficiency all while experiencing up to 50% improved performance per watt over the 980 PRO; It makes every move more effective with less consumption
If performance is your priority, turning ray tracing off is the clearest choice among Remedy’s profiles: the non-ray-traced Recommended profile names a lower GPU tier than Ray Tracing Recommended. Match your target to the profile rather than assuming a preset will deliver the same result on every PC.
For ray tracing
Choose a ray-tracing profile only if you want those effects and your GPU is near the listed tier. Remedy’s Ray Tracing Minimum target is 1080p/30 FPS with Low ray tracing; Ray Tracing Recommended targets 1440p/60 FPS with Medium ray tracing. Both use the same upscaling quality as their corresponding non-ray-traced resolution targets.

- SAMSUNG MAGICIAN SOFTWARE: Get the most out of your SSD with Samsung Magician's advanced yet intuitive optimization tools; Monitor drive health, protect valuable data, and receive important updates for your 990 PRO
For path tracing
Path tracing is a distinct, higher hardware target—not simply a small change to the standard Recommended profile. Remedy lists 2160p/60 FPS on High settings, Performance upscaling, and High ray tracing for an RTX 5080 with 12 GB VRAM. Do not treat this as an expected result for other GPUs.

- Set your target first. Decide whether you want 1080p/30 FPS, 1440p/60 FPS, or 2160p/60 FPS, and whether ray tracing or path tracing matters to you.
- Pick the closest official profile. Compare your GPU and CPU with the listed hardware, and check that your system has the shared RAM, operating-system, and SSD requirements.
- Use the profile’s graphics and upscaling combination as a baseline. Keep the associated settings together initially; the published profiles do not establish that one custom mixture is best across systems.
- Adjust for your observed performance. If the game does not meet your desired smoothness, reduce visual ambition—particularly ray tracing—or select a less demanding profile. If it runs comfortably, you can test higher settings on your own system.
Remedy says actual performance can vary with drivers, background applications, cooling, component configuration, and the area being rendered. That is why matching a profile is a useful starting point rather than a guarantee.

Supported PC features and an important Frame Generation caveat
Remedy lists uncapped frame rate, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 upscaling and Frame Generation, AMD FSR 4.1 upscaling and Frame Generation, NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction, ray tracing, path tracing, HDR, and ultrawide displays as PC features. Availability of a feature does not mean it is enabled in every profile.
Remedy states that Frame Generation was not used when it tested the configurations in its requirements profiles. Those profiles therefore should not be read as Frame Generation benchmark results or as proof of how much the feature changes performance on a particular system.

Before troubleshooting a performance mismatch
- Confirm the game is installed on an SSD and that at least the required 120 GB of SSD storage is available.
- Check that your system meets the chosen profile’s GPU, CPU, and VRAM listing, not just its resolution and frame-rate target.
- Consider whether background applications, driver state, or cooling could be affecting performance; Remedy identifies each as a possible source of variation.
- Remember that demanding rendered areas can perform differently from other parts of the game.
Steam and Epic list September 24, 2026 as the release date, and their minimum and recommended hardware summaries match Remedy’s corresponding baseline profiles: Steam and Epic Games Store.
