There are six Testing Facilities in CONTROL Resonant, and each has an underground entrance that may not sit directly beneath its map marker. The most reliable way to find one is to head to the pin, then look for a nearby construction pit, pipe, sewer, or shaft. Solve the room’s experiment and pull its console switch to register the shutdown.
All six Testing Facility locations at a glance
Entering any facility can start Unsupervised Science, and the sites can be completed in any order. The entrance landmarks below are walkthrough directions; use the in-game map and quest log to orient yourself if a label differs in your version.

PowerPyx reports 120 Area XP per facility. Reward descriptions differ among walkthroughs, so the table calls out other items where the guides identify them rather than treating every listed reward as a complete inventory.

Why the map marker can lead to an empty street
The marker identifies the underground lab, not necessarily a door at street level. At the marked spot, scan the nearby area for a construction site, open pit, sewer entrance, drainage channel, or pipe. The Evacuation Zone facility is especially useful to find early: its coordinates file can reveal facility locations on the map.

How the two experiment types work
Soda Dispenser: Downtown, Evacuation Zone, and West Incursion Zone
These three rooms use a state-cycling puzzle. Carry each object across the yellow floor lines to change its form, then place it on the matching square while it is in the required Soda Dispenser form. The terminal or whiteboard explains the room’s state changes; follow that information and check each object’s current form as you move it. Starting object states can be randomized, so a fixed object-by-object sequence may not match your room.
Power Core: Central, The Park, and Unknown
These rooms require you to transfer charge among power cores. In Central, PowerPyx describes a 60-second sequence; the cores can overload if charge is not moved in time. Watch which core needs power and redistribute charge before a timer or overload state causes the sequence to fail. Room layout and core count vary; the detailed walkthroughs report five cores in The Park and Unknown.

Register each shutdown and finish Unsupervised Science
- Enter a Testing Facility and complete its experiment.
- Return to the console and activate the shutdown switch. Solving the puzzle alone does not register the experiment as shut down.
- Check the quest log after each site. If a facility is still outstanding, use the log to identify the unregistered zone and return to its console.
- After all six shutdowns, go to the Unknown facility. Activate the switch in the room with the Power Upgrade crate to open the Threshold route.
- Enter the newly opened passage and follow it to the recording to complete the side quest.
What the walkthroughs report about rewards
PowerPyx lists 120 Area XP, an Undefined Reading, and a Power Upgrade Point in an unlocked room for each site, plus the Untapped Scrunchie Artifact when the mission is complete. AllThingsHow and KeenGamer also call out zone-specific notes and accessories, including the Emergency Hood in The Park and Firebreaker Goggles in Unknown. These are walkthrough-reported rewards, not an official developer reward list.
