To link a Riot Account to Xbox Game Pass, open Riot’s Xbox Game Pass Welcome Page, sign in with the Xbox profile you want to connect, and follow the prompts to link an existing Riot Account or create a new one. You need an active Game Pass membership for member benefits; linking alone does not activate them.
Link your Riot Account and Xbox profile
- Go to Riot’s Xbox Game Pass Welcome Page.
- Sign in with the Xbox profile you want associated with your Riot Account. Check that it is the intended profile before continuing.
- Choose to connect an existing Riot Account or create a new one, then follow the prompts to authenticate the Riot Account and Xbox profile. Riot may ask you to sign in to both accounts to complete the connection.
- To receive Game Pass member benefits, make sure the connected Xbox profile has an active Game Pass membership.
- Open Riot Account Management and check Connected Accounts. The Xbox profile should appear there; when the membership applies, Riot indicates Game Pass member status.
- Launch the relevant Riot game and look for its in-game benefit message or notification. Activation can take up to 24 hours.
If you have game progress on an existing Riot Account, connect the account you intend to keep using. Riot’s welcome flow supports both an existing account and creating a new one, but the choice determines which Riot Account is linked.
Riot says that when a linked Xbox profile has an active Game Pass membership, it shares gameplay data with Microsoft for accounting, internal reporting, business planning, and product improvement. Disconnecting the Xbox profile stops that sharing.

Check which benefits are available
Benefits differ by game, and some may not be available in certain countries. Riot’s current Game Pass benefits page is the place to check what applies to a particular game and region; the benefit lineup can change.

Fix missing Game Pass benefits
Allow time for activation
If the accounts are linked but benefits do not appear right away, wait up to 24 hours and relaunch the game. Riot notes that a delay can be more likely just after activating a membership.
Verify the account and membership
In Riot Account Management, open Connected Accounts and confirm that the intended Xbox profile is listed and that the Game Pass member indicator appears. Also check that the membership on that Xbox profile is active. A link without an active membership does not qualify for the member benefits.

Contact Riot Player Support if the delay continues

What happens if you unlink or lose membership?
To disconnect the Xbox profile, go to Riot Account Management and use the minus icon beside the connected Xbox profile. Disconnecting an active Game Pass link immediately removes Game Pass member benefits. If the membership expires, benefits are lost; if it is restarted while the Xbox profile remains linked, benefits can return, with changes taking up to 24 hours.

How you sign in depends on how you created the Riot Account
If you first created your Riot Account using an Xbox profile, Riot says that profile is the primary sign-in method; you can configure other sign-in options in Account Management. If you linked an Xbox profile to an existing Riot Account, you can continue using the sign-in methods already configured for that Riot Account.
