To connect wireless earbuds to a Samsung Galaxy phone, put the earbuds in Bluetooth pairing mode, then open Settings > Connections > Bluetooth, select the earbuds under available devices, and accept the pairing request if one appears. The earbuds’ pairing-mode controls depend on their make and model, so use their manual for the exact steps.
Pair earbuds with your Samsung phone
- Prepare the earbuds. Charge them, keep them near the phone, and activate Bluetooth pairing mode using the instructions for that specific model. Earbuds that are not discoverable may not appear in the phone’s device list.
- Open Bluetooth settings. On the phone, go to Settings > Connections > Bluetooth and turn Bluetooth on if needed.
- Select the earbuds. Wait for their name to appear under available devices, then tap it. Confirm the pairing request if prompted.
Samsung cautions that menu names and screen layouts can vary by phone model and software version. If your labels differ, look for Bluetooth under Connections in Settings.
Choose the right pairing route for Galaxy Buds
QuickPair on compatible phones
Samsung says a QuickPair setup prompt can appear automatically for Galaxy Buds on compatible Galaxy devices updated to One UI 8.0. If the prompt appears, follow its on-screen instructions. This flow is specific to the documented Galaxy Buds setup and is not a general method for every brand of earbuds. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds QuickPair instructions.

If there is no QuickPair prompt, use the Bluetooth settings steps above. For Galaxy Buds, Samsung also documents setup through the Galaxy Wearable app: select the earbuds in the app and follow the prompts. Put Galaxy Buds into pairing mode
Do not assume every Galaxy Buds generation uses the same gesture. Samsung’s instructions distinguish these models:
- Galaxy Buds3 and Buds3 Pro: Put the earbuds in their case and hold the case pairing button for more than three seconds.
- Galaxy Buds2 and Buds2 Pro: With the earbuds in the open case, touch and hold both earbuds simultaneously for more than three seconds.
- Earlier Galaxy Buds: Use the model-specific touchpad procedure in Samsung’s instructions or the product manual; it differs from the steps above.
For an earlier Buds model that stops actively pairing after the case has been open for three minutes, Samsung Canada advises closing and reopening the case to restart pairing. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds connection guide.

If your phone cannot find the earbuds
- Check that the earbuds are charged, nearby, and actively in pairing mode. Re-enter pairing mode if necessary; consult the earbud maker’s instructions for its controls.
- If they were paired with this phone before, remove or unpair the saved entry in Bluetooth settings, then put them in pairing mode and pair again.
- Restart the phone and earbuds, then check for available software updates if they still do not appear or connect.
- For Galaxy Buds connection problems, Samsung recommends checking charge, distance, fit, obstructions or interference, and earbud software. Samsung’s Galaxy Buds troubleshooting guidance.
If the earbuds pair but a feature does not work
Pairing alone may not enable every function. If audio works but calls or another feature do not, check the paired device’s Bluetooth settings and permissions for that function. When connection problems persist
