On a Windows 10 or Windows 11 Toshiba laptop, the usual way to connect wirelessly is Miracast: enable the TV’s screen-mirroring mode, press Windows key + K, then choose the TV. This works only if both devices support Miracast. Toshiba’s support information confirms Wireless Display on supported TVs, but not on every Toshiba model, so check your TV’s model and menu first.
Check whether your Toshiba TV and laptop support wireless display
Windows wireless projection to a TV normally relies on Miracast. The Toshiba name alone does not establish compatibility: the laptop must support Miracast, and the TV must support it with its receiving feature turned on. Find the TV’s receiving mode
Check the TV’s source, network, or screen-sharing menus for a setting named Wireless Display, Screen Mirroring, or Wireless Projection. Some Toshiba documentation also uses Smartview. Names and menu locations vary by model. One Toshiba TV manual says to set the TV to a wireless network connection before starting screen sharing; consult the manual for your exact model rather than assuming the steps are identical on every set. Check the laptop’s Miracast support
Make sure Wi-Fi is turned on. Microsoft recommends checking that the PC supports Miracast as well as confirming that the TV supports Miracast and has the feature enabled. If either device lacks support, the TV may not appear in the Windows device list.

Connect from Windows with Windows key + K
- Turn on the TV’s Wireless Display, Screen Mirroring, or equivalent receiving mode.
- On the Toshiba laptop, press Windows key + K to open the wireless display connection panel.
- Choose the TV from the list of available displays.
- Follow any prompts shown on the laptop or TV to complete the connection.
Microsoft documents Windows key + K as the path for finding and selecting an available wireless display. If the TV does not appear, use the checks in the troubleshooting section below.
Choose whether to duplicate or extend your screen
After connecting, press Windows key + P to choose how Windows uses the TV:

- Duplicate: show the same image on the laptop and TV. Choose this for sharing a presentation, video, or desktop view.
- Extend: use the TV as additional desktop space. You can move windows between the laptop screen and the TV.
If the TV does not appear or the connection fails
Work through these checks in order. Microsoft recommends verifying wireless-display compatibility and Wi-Fi, updating drivers and display firmware, restarting the devices, and removing and reconnecting the display if necessary.

- Turn on Wi-Fi: verify Wi-Fi is enabled on the laptop, even if you are not using it to browse the internet.
- Recheck the TV menu: make sure the TV is in Wireless Display or screen-mirroring mode, not simply connected to a wireless network.
- Update software: install available laptop wireless/display drivers and TV firmware updates.
- Restart both devices: restart the laptop and TV, enable the TV’s receiving mode again, then retry Windows key + K.
- Remove and reconnect: if Windows has a saved entry for the wireless display, remove it and try connecting again.
If the TV does not support Miracast, use an adapter
A Miracast adapter can add a wireless receiver to a TV that lacks built-in Miracast. This is an extra device, not a requirement for a TV that already supports Miracast. Before buying one, check that the TV has an available HDMI input and that you can power the adapter as its instructions require. Microsoft’s Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter setup guide specifies HDMI connection, USB power, selecting the TV’s matching HDMI input, and connecting from Windows with Windows key + K.

Use HDMI as a wired fallback
If wireless projection is unsupported or unreliable, connect the laptop to the TV with HDMI. Check the laptop’s video output, the TV’s available input, and select that input on the TV. Toshiba identifies HDMI as a connection option for high-definition image. This approach is wired, but it avoids Miracast discovery and compatibility issues.
