A Conan Exiles PvE-Conflict (PvE-C) server is PvE for most of the day, then opens player-versus-player combat during a scheduled time window. Players can usually fight and loot one another during that window, while player-built structures remain protected. The exact hours, building-damage rule and even configuration key names depend on the individual server, so the server browser description is the final authority before you transfer a character or build a base.
What a PvE-Conflict server means
PvE-Conflict is a hybrid ruleset. The environment, creatures and most progression work like PvE, but the server periodically enables PvP. Outside the conflict period, another player generally cannot attack your character. During the conflict period, combat between players is allowed and a defeated player can lose items through corpse looting, subject to the server’s normal death and inventory rules.

The defining protection on official-style PvE-C servers is usually the player-owned structure: foundations, walls, doors, storage buildings and other base pieces cannot be damaged. That protection is the major distinction from a conventional PvP server, where bases may be raided or demolished. Community servers can change this rule, however, and some advertise a separate structure-damage period.
There is no single universal PvE-C schedule across every Conan Exiles server. A frequently repeated example is PvP from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. server time with building damage disabled all day. That schedule comes from secondary guides rather than a current, comprehensive Funcom rules page, so treat it as an example—not a guarantee.

What you can and cannot do during the PvP window
Player combat and deaths
When the conflict window is active, players can normally damage and kill other players. The window is controlled by server time, not by the time displayed on your computer, so a player travelling between regions should check the server’s clock or description. A character who dies may leave a lootable corpse, making travel, farming and boss runs more dangerous during those hours.
Building damage is the key exception
On official-style PvE-C, structure damage is normally disabled. This means the scheduled PvP period is a character-combat event rather than a full raid period: opponents can fight you outside your base, but cannot simply break through your walls or destroy your crafting stations. A 2018 Funcom forum discussion describes building damage as turned off for these servers, and several guides describe structures as protected.
That is not a safe assumption for every community listing. At least one community PvE-C server advertises a separate building-destruction window. If the listing mentions “raid hours,” “structure damage,” or a destruction schedule, read that rule literally. Ask the administrator if the description is unclear before placing valuable items in a permanent base.

Looting and offline risk
Because player combat and corpse looting can be enabled while structures remain invulnerable, the main risk is being caught in the open or losing a fight near a farming route. Keep only the equipment you are prepared to lose when the window approaches, and return valuable resources to protected storage before the server clock changes.
How PvE-C schedules are set
Schedules are per-server settings. They may run every day, only on selected days, or on different hours at weekends. One community listing, for example, uses 16:00–22:00 on weekdays and 15:00–22:00 on weekends. Another commonly cited configuration uses 17:00–23:00 every day. Neither schedule should be generalized to all PvE-C servers.

Use the hours only after confirming the time zone and whether the end hour is inclusive. A window ending at 23:00 can switch off at the start of that hour or after the final minute, depending on how the host interprets the setting. The in-game server description is the most reliable statement for a particular listing.

How to check a server before joining
- Open the in-game server browser. Filter for PvE-Conflict or search the server name. Do not rely on the word “PvE” alone; a standard PvE server does not necessarily have scheduled combat.
- Read the complete description. Look for PvP start and end times, the server time zone, allowed days, corpse-looting rules and any mention of structure damage.
- Identify who operates it. An official-style server follows the published rules for that server family. A community server may add raid hours, wipes, special events or rule changes that are not part of the standard PvE-C concept.
- Check for contradictions. If the title says “no raiding” but the description lists a destruction window, treat the detailed rule or an administrator’s written clarification as controlling.
- Test the clock safely. After joining, note the server time and ask another player or an administrator when the next transition occurs. Avoid carrying your entire inventory through the first unverified conflict period.
Descriptions can become stale after an administrator changes settings. If the advertised hours do not match what happens in game, record the server name, time and observed behavior and contact its administrator rather than assuming every PvE-C server works the same way.
ServerSettings.ini options associated with PvE-C
Hosts commonly configure PvE-C through ServerSettings.ini. The following names are reported by hosting documentation, but current game-build validation is important: community guides do not all use identical names, and a setting that is ignored by the server can create a false sense of protection.

Another guide uses RestrictPVPTime for the restriction switch instead of PVPRestrictedTime. That difference has not been confirmed against every current Conan Exiles build. Do not paste both names and assume they are interchangeable: check the configuration schema supplied by your host, inspect the generated file after a server restart, and verify the result in game.

Safe procedure for changing PvE-C settings as an administrator
Only a server owner or host with configuration access should edit these values. A typo can leave PvP disabled, make structures vulnerable, or cause the server to ignore the intended schedule.

- Back up the existing file. Keep a dated copy of
ServerSettings.iniso you can restore the previous behavior if a key is rejected. - Confirm the key names for your build and host. Hosting control panels sometimes expose friendly labels that map to different file names. Use the host’s current documentation or the file generated by a fresh server installation.
- Set the master PvP behavior. Enable PvP with
PVPEnabled, then set the restriction switch and start/end hours. Use whole-hour values from 0 through 23 unless your host documents a different format. - Set structure protection explicitly. For an official-style PvE-C experience, set
CanDamagePlayerOwnedStructuresto the protected value documented by the host, normallyFalse. - Save, start and inspect the logs or control panel. Look for unknown-key or parse errors. A server that starts successfully can still ignore an unrecognized option, so a clean start is not proof that the setting applied.
- Announce the exact schedule. Publish the time zone, days, start and end hours, and structure rule in the server description. Tell players whether the hours are subject to daylight-saving changes.
- Verify both states. Test combat during the intended window and outside it, then test a disposable player-owned structure if your rules permit any damage. Never use a valuable base for the first test.
If your host provides separate fields for “PvP time,” “raid time” and “structure damage,” use those fields rather than manually adding undocumented keys. A control panel may rewrite the file on restart, so verify the effective values after every scheduled maintenance cycle.

PvE-C is therefore not simply “PvE with occasional raiding.” On the common protected-base configuration, it is a timed combat layer placed over a PvE progression environment. A community server can deliberately move closer to PvP by enabling structure damage, so the listing must be read before you compare servers.

Practical play strategy for a conflict schedule
Before the window opens
- Return rare resources, repair materials and spare weapons to storage.
- Finish long crafting queues and move exposed thralls or followers into a defensible area.
- Check the server clock rather than your local clock.
- Travel with a recovery kit so a death does not end your evening.
During the window
- Assume contested farming routes and boss arenas can contain hostile players.
- Keep visual awareness around choke points, teleport destinations and resource spawns.
- Do not interpret an invulnerable base as an invulnerable character; combat can still occur outside protected structures.
- Record suspicious behavior and report it through the server’s stated moderation channel instead of retaliating outside the published rules.
After the window closes
- Confirm that the server has actually switched to its non-conflict state before transporting valuable cargo.
- Recover corpses only when the area is safe; the end of the window does not undo a death that already occurred.
- Report a mismatch between the advertised schedule and observed behavior to the administrator with the server time and date.
Troubleshooting common PvE-C problems
“I was attacked outside the advertised hours.”
First check whether the listing uses server time, whether your client displayed a different time zone, and whether the administrator recently changed the schedule. Community servers can also run event windows that are not reflected in an old description. Capture the exact server time and ask for the current rule before concluding that the entire PvE-C ruleset is broken.
“My base was damaged even though this is PvE-C.”
Check the description for a separate destruction period. If none is listed, the server may be community-run with custom settings, or the structure-damage key may have been changed or misread. An administrator should verify the effective CanDamagePlayerOwnedStructures value and test it with a disposable piece.

The key may be misspelled, unsupported in the current build, overwritten by a control panel, or placed in the wrong configuration file. Stop the server, restore the backup if necessary, check the host’s current key names, restart, and verify behavior in both the restricted and unrestricted periods. The alternate names PVPRestrictedTime and RestrictPVPTime are not proven substitutes for one another.
“The server says PvE-C but there is no PvP.”
It may currently be outside the conflict hours, the master switch may be disabled, or the listing may be using PvE-C as a label for a custom ruleset. Compare the published hours with the server clock and ask the administrator which value is active for PVPEnabled.
What is officially documented
Funcom’s launch-era blog post titled “We’re Bringing Back PvE-Conflict Servers” describes PvE-C servers as a separate server offering, but it is years old and does not establish the rules on today’s servers. No current, comprehensive Funcom rules page defining every PvE-C schedule and structure rule is available. For that reason, the server’s own in-game description and the administrator’s current configuration take precedence over a generic guide or an old forum post.
Bottom line for choosing a PvE-C server
Choose PvE-C when you want mostly cooperative Conan Exiles progression with a predictable period in which other players can fight and loot you. Treat base protection as the normal official-style rule, not as a promise made by the label alone. Before joining, confirm the exact days and hours, time zone, structure-damage policy, operator and current description. If you administer a server, document those same details and validate every configuration key against the current build before announcing the rules.
