Comu Action Pro is a pocket recorder built to turn in-person conversations into transcripts, summaries and follow-up drafts. It looks most useful for people who do that work often; it is less convincing if you need flawless transcription, polished documents without editing or a dependable offline workflow. Independent hands-on coverage found it effective for capturing meetings and events, but reported errors with proper names and corrections needed in more complex outputs.

What Comu Action Pro is—and what its specifications mean

Action Pro is both a physical recorder and an AI workflow product. Comu presents it as a way to capture conversations and generate summaries, email drafts, action plans, slides and other documents—not simply as a voice-memo device.

YScope Co., Ltd., the manufacturer, specifies an adaptive six-microphone array, a 0.95-inch AMOLED display, 16 GB of internal storage, a 1,000 mAh battery, USB-C charging, Bluetooth LE and Wi-Fi. The array combines four omnidirectional microphones, one directional microphone and one bone-conduction microphone. YScope also claims pickup range of about seven meters and up to 70 hours of continuous recording. These are published specifications, not independently verified results; actual battery life and pickup depend on use and conditions. The manufacturer lists support for 113 languages.

The Japanese launch release gives approximate dimensions of 91 × 60 × 5.5 mm, maximum thickness of about 7.5 mm, and weight of about 52 g. Those details, like the other figures, are manufacturer specifications rather than independent measurements.

How well does it capture and turn speech into useful work?

Capture in meetings and noisy settings

In a hands-on review published September 15, 2026, Cadena SER reported using Action Pro at press conferences and events over several weeks, including in a noisy IFA setting. The reviewer found it effective for meeting and event capture and described battery life as a strong point. That is a reviewer’s experience, not a controlled measurement or a guarantee for every room.

The same review noted that the processed sound was not suited to high-quality production recording. Action Pro is therefore better understood as a tool for capturing speech for notes and workflows than as a recorder for pristine audio production.

Transcripts and generated documents

Cadena SER found transcription imperfect, particularly for brand names and proper nouns. It also reported that complex outputs such as outlines and presentations needed manual correction. That distinction matters: a fluent summary or draft can look finished while carrying forward an error from the transcript. Check names, figures, specialist terms and action owners before sharing generated material.

Wallpaper’s 2026 roundup said Action Pro’s transcription was not as polished as Plaud Note Pro’s in practice and identified follow-up workflows as a possible differentiator. The roundup does not describe a controlled comparison, so it is evidence of an editorial impression—not a measured head-to-head verdict.

How it compares with another AI recorder

The available independent coverage does not establish a controlled comparison across recorders. Wallpaper offers a qualitative view of transcription, but there is no comparable test here of noisy-room capture, name accuracy, document quality, battery life, call workflows or price. That evidence is not enough to declare a winner.

For a practical comparison with Plaud Note Pro or any alternative, assess the work you actually need the device to do:

  • Capture: Compare performance with multiple speakers, interruptions and background noise in your usual setting.
  • Correction burden: Test names, technical vocabulary and numbers, then count how much transcript checking you need.
  • Follow-up output: See whether drafts and action plans save time after proofreading, rather than judging them by how polished they look at first glance.
  • Plan limits: Compare included transcription and summary access with translation, agent credits and any paid workflow requirements.
  • Device and call workflow: Check size, battery claims, how it handles phone or earbud calls, and whether its physical form fits your routine.
  • Connectivity and privacy: Confirm which tasks work without an internet connection, where audio and transcripts are processed, and whether recording is appropriate in your setting.
  • Current regional price: Check the live offer, seller, warranty and returns in your country; prices and terms differ by region and can change.

Privacy, connectivity and recording considerations

Comu states privacy and security compliance claims on its product and brand pages, but those claims alone do not establish how a particular conversation is handled or whether recording it is appropriate. Review the current policy and product terms for audio storage, processing, retention and deletion before recording sensitive material.

A Reddit user’s September 2026 account reported that functions beyond raw capture required the app and an internet connection. The user also described an automatic language-detection error and concern that polished summaries could conceal transcript mistakes. These are unverified reports, not established product specifications; confirm offline behavior and language handling with Comu before relying on them. Recording consent rules depend on location and circumstances, so check authoritative local guidance rather than relying on a forum post.

Who should consider Comu Action Pro?

A plausible fit

  • You regularly record face-to-face meetings, interviews, visits or events and want transcripts plus follow-up drafts.
  • You are willing to check proper names and important details and edit generated documents before using them.
  • The current free basic tier is sufficient for your routine, or the paid credits and translation limits make sense for your workload.

Look elsewhere or test carefully first

  • You mainly need a basic voice memo and do not need AI follow-up workflows.
  • You expect flawless recognition of names and specialist terms, publication-quality raw audio or complex documents ready to send without review.
  • You need a guaranteed offline workflow or cannot use an app- and internet-connected process for the conversations you record.

Overall, Action Pro’s strongest case is frequent conversation capture followed by notes and drafts—not hands-off, error-free documentation. The independent review evidence supports its usefulness in meeting and event settings while also showing why transcript checking and document editing remain part of the workflow.
