There is no evidence-backed universal winner between Zenefits and Namely. The practical comparison is between TriNet’s current HR Platform/HR Plus offering—the current product naming associated with legacy Zenefits—and Namely’s current HCM platform. Choose only after comparing itemized quotes for the same modules and services, plus payroll and benefits workflows, implementation, integrations, and support.

First, what does “Zenefits” mean today?

TriNet identifies its HR Platform login as “also known as TriNet Zenefits.” Its current HR Platform description covers workforce data, onboarding, time tracking, attendance, time off, performance management, payroll, benefits administration, employee mobile access, and compliance support. TriNet HR Plus is a current offer that combines platform capabilities with service packages. Do not assume old Zenefits plan names or third-party prices describe today’s offer. How should you compare them for your company?

  1. Write down required modules. List needs for HR records, onboarding, payroll, time and attendance, scheduling, benefits administration, recruiting, performance, compliance, and reporting. Ask each vendor to mark every item as included, optional, separately contracted, or unavailable in the proposed configuration. TriNet platform Namely platform
  2. Request same-scope, itemized quotes. Use the same headcount, locations, payroll frequency, modules, and service level. Ask for implementation, migration, support, and optional-module costs in writing. TriNet says its HR Plus quote depends on company size and selected services; Namely’s reviewed overview does not publish comparable buyer-specific pricing. TriNet pricing Namely platform
  3. Clarify payroll and tax responsibilities. Establish who handles setup, filings, exception review, corrections, and tax-agency notices. TriNet lists dedicated payroll and payroll-tax expertise under Payroll Pro, while Namely advertises managed payroll; ask what the actual proposal includes. TriNet pricing Namely platform
  4. Map benefits and broker workflows. Verify broker access, enrollment, carrier connections, renewal support, and any benefits-administration fees. TriNet describes benefits administration and announced an Employee Navigator integration for HR Plus; Namely lists benefits administration as an enhanced module and managed benefits services. TriNet lists People Pro for deeper HR expertise and announced Employee Navigator integration for HR Plus; Namely describes managed HR services. What is established—and what is not?

TriNet’s product-update page records HR Plus enhancements dated June 5, 2026, including optional Payroll Pro and People Pro packages and an Employee Navigator integration. Product availability can change, so date-stamp any feature comparison and confirm it appears in your proposal. TriNet product updates

The reviewed sources do not establish an independent head-to-head study showing that either vendor performs better. TriNet makes efficiency claims about its platform, but those are vendor claims rather than comparative independent evidence; Namely’s reviewed overview supplies no comparative statistic. The evidence supports comparing current scope and terms, not declaring a performance winner.

Which one should you choose?

  • Favor TriNet HR Platform/HR Plus if its proposed module mix fits your requirements and you value the specific payroll-tax or HR expertise offered through Payroll Pro or People Pro. Verify that those services, and any needed integrations, are included in your quote.
  • Favor Namely if its proposed core and enhanced modules, managed services, implementation plan, and total quoted cost fit your organization better. Confirm which enhanced modules and managed services are part of the contract rather than assuming they are included.
  • Do not choose from legacy Zenefits prices or feature lists alone. The current product relationship and offer names have changed; compare the written, current proposals.
