A cracked flat-screen TV can cost about $400–$1,000 to repair, according to HomeAdvisor’s 2025 TV repair cost guide. That is a broad estimate, not a quote: a visible crack usually requires replacing the display panel, and the repair may cost as much as or more than a comparable new TV. Get a written estimate for your exact model and compare the full total with current replacement prices.
What does it cost to repair a cracked TV screen?
HomeAdvisor’s 2025 TV repair cost guide puts cracked-screen repair at $400–$1,000. The guide describes panel replacement as the typical repair. This range is a general published estimate, not a guaranteed local price or a universal average across brands and sizes.
The final quote depends on the TV’s make and model, panel availability, labor, diagnostic or visit charges, transportation, and other costs. A parts listing alone may not reflect the amount you will pay. For example, Samsung India’s repair information says listed spare-part prices may change and exclude labor and other repair consumables; an engineer confirms the exact cost after diagnosis. Those terms are specific to that page and region.

A visible physical crack is damage to the display, not just a mark on its outer surface. HomeAdvisor says a cracked screen typically requires replacing the display panel. That is why a surface patch or generic screen-repair kit is not a substitute for the repair described in the cost estimate.

Panel replacement can be expensive enough to approach or exceed the cost of replacing the whole television. The exact comparison depends on the TV and the available replacement models, so do not decide from the estimate range alone.
Check the retailer and warranty before paying
If the damage was present when you first opened the box, contact the retailer promptly. LG’s guidance for an LG TV damaged out of the box says to seek warranty service through the retailer. For damage that occurred later, check the warranty terms and exclusions for your exact model; coverage cannot be assumed from the brand alone.

For an out-of-warranty LG TV, the company also provides parts support, but a parts price is not a complete repair quote. LG USA’s published OLED flat-rate repair range is not established as a price for cracked-screen panel replacement, so it should not be used to predict that repair’s cost.

How to get a quote you can compare
- Identify the TV. Record its brand, exact model number, and screen size. Include a clear description or photo of the damage when contacting the manufacturer or repair provider.
- Ask whether the panel is available. A quote is only useful if the required part can be obtained for your model.
- Request a written, itemized total. Ask the provider to separate the panel, labor, diagnostic or visit fee, travel or transportation charges, and taxes. Ask whether any other charges could be added after diagnosis.
- Check the repair terms. Ask what warranty, if any, applies to the repair and replacement panel.
- Compare like with like. Price the full repair against a current TV with similar screen size and features, rather than relying on a historical price example or the cost of a different class of set.
Repair or replace the television?
Use the complete written quote—not a panel-parts price—and compare it with the current price of a comparable replacement. Repair may be worth investigating for an unusually large, premium, or otherwise costly-to-replace TV. There is no universal break-even amount established by the cited guidance.

If the panel repair quote approaches or exceeds the cost of a similar replacement, replacing the set is generally the more economical direction indicated by HomeAdvisor’s guide. Include any diagnostic charges and repair warranty terms in your comparison, and make the decision using prices available to you now.
