Colorlib Search Form V3 is a free frontend template for an online-store search bar. It combines a category selector, a search field and a button, but it is not a complete product-search system: you must connect it to your own database and backend code to return results.

The category selector lets a visitor narrow a search to a chosen category. Colorlib gives Accessories, Clothing, Footwear, Ladies and Men as examples, and says the category list can be modified to suit a site’s catalog. These are example labels, not a fixed set you have to use.
Does it work out of the box?
No. The template provides the search-form interface, not the machinery that finds products. Colorlib says a working search needs a database connection and backend code; its search-bar category page also cautions that coding is required. You or your developer must connect submitted queries and category choices to the store’s catalog and implement the results handling.

What to check before using it
- Catalog categories: Decide which categories shoppers should be able to select, then adapt the selector to match your store.
- Search implementation: Plan the database and backend work needed to interpret the query and selected category and return relevant products.
- License: The listing displays CC BY 3.0. Check the current license and applicable conditions in the download package before reusing the template.
What the listing says about its date
Colorlib’s V3 listing displays March 17, 2021, and separately says “Released: 2025”; its page title includes 2026. Those labels are inconsistent, so the available listing does not establish a single confirmed launch date.
