Coinme is not one single ATM service. Its cash network has three different channels: Coinstar kiosks for buying crypto, ReadyCode ATMs for collecting cash after a sale, and Coinme Cash retail checkouts for barcode-based purchases. The location, coins, limits and fees depend on the channel, your state, the retailer and your verified account.
Use Coinme’s location map or the app’s Find a Location feature before traveling. Then select the exact location in the app to see which assets and transaction limits apply to you.
Where can you find a Coinme crypto ATM?
Coinme says its U.S. network has more than 40,000 service points, including retail checkout counters, Coinstar kiosks and ReadyCode cash-pickup ATMs. The service operates in 48 states and is unavailable in New York and Vermont, although individual locations and services can also be restricted by state regulation.

| ReadyCode ATMs | 20,000+ cash-pickup ATMs | Collect cash after selling crypto |
| Coinme Cash retail checkouts | 14,000+ counters | Pay a generated barcode with cash to buy crypto |
Those totals describe the network, not guaranteed availability in your neighborhood. A store may have a kiosk but not cash-out service, or a retail counter may support Coinme Cash while the same location does not support every asset. Coinme’s Help Center directs users to coinme.com/locations to browse a map of Coinme Cash locations, Coinstar kiosks and ReadyCode ATMs.

How to check a location before leaving home
- Open the Coinme app and choose Find a Location, or open the location map at coinme.com/locations.
- Search by address, city or ZIP code.
- Choose the specific service point rather than relying on the nearest pin.
- Confirm the channel: Coinstar buy, Coinme Cash retail buy or ReadyCode cash pickup.
- Review the assets, hours and displayed limits for that location. If your transaction is close to a regulatory or account ceiling, check again immediately before traveling because limits can change.
State rules can remove a service entirely or reduce a limit. The map and app are therefore more reliable than a general claim that a Coinme ATM is available everywhere in the United States.
Which Coinme channel should you use?
The direction of the transaction is the quickest way to choose. Coinstar and Coinme Cash are purchase channels. ReadyCode is the cash-out channel for selling crypto that is already in your Coinme account.
| Channel | Direction | Location type | Assets listed by Coinme | Published cash limits | Fee or settlement note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Coinstar Bitcoin ATM | Buy crypto with cash | Coinstar kiosk | Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Stellar Lumens, XRP and Solana | Most locations advertise up to $5,000 per day; location and account limits apply | Final amount is based on the quote shown when the purchase is completed; exact kiosk fee is location- and transaction-dependent |
| Coinme Cash | Buy crypto with cash | Retail checkout counter | Use the asset list shown for the selected location in the app | $20 minimum per barcode; maximum $1,000 at Walmart or $500 at other listed retailers; $1,500 daily, $3,500 weekly and $5,000 monthly aggregate limits | Published retail fee: $4.74 at Walmart, $3.95 at CVS, Walgreens and other listed retailers; crypto amount uses the market quote at completion |
| ReadyCode | Sell crypto and collect cash | ReadyCode cash-pickup ATM | Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, XRP, Stellar Lumens, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin and USDC | Sell in $20 increments, up to $400 per transaction and $2,000 per day by default; state or location limits may be lower | Generate or use the ReadyCode supplied by Coinme and collect cash at the selected ATM; an exact settlement time is not stated |
Coinme’s general site lists 11 current assets—Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin, Chainlink, Litecoin, Polygon, Stellar Lumens, USDC, BTCD and FISC. That broader list does not mean every kiosk or retailer supports all 11. The selected location’s in-app asset list is authoritative.
What coins can you buy or cash out?
Coins shown for Coinstar purchases
The Coinstar Bitcoin ATM page lists nine purchase assets: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin, Stellar Lumens, XRP and Solana. USDC, BTCD and FISC are not listed on that page, so do not assume they can be purchased at a Coinstar kiosk.

Coins shown for ReadyCode cash pickup
ReadyCode lists Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Solana, XRP, Stellar Lumens, Polygon, Chainlink, Dogecoin and USDC. This is a cash-out list, not a promise that the same assets are available for purchase at a Coinstar kiosk or through a retail barcode.
Why the app matters more than a general coin list
Coinme can vary supported assets by location, state, retailer and account status. Before creating a transaction, select the exact service point and check the asset selector. If a coin is absent there, the transaction cannot be completed at that location even if it appears on Coinme’s general website.
How much cash can you put into a Coinme machine?
Coinstar kiosk purchases
Coinme advertises purchases of up to $5,000 of crypto per day through a Coinstar Bitcoin ATM. The wording is “up to”: limits apply by location and account, and state rules can impose a lower ceiling. Coinme’s published state examples include a $1,000 daily cap for Coinstar purchases in California and a $1,000 daily cap in New Mexico. A Connecticut Coinstar kiosk purchase limit is listed as $2,500 per day. These examples are not a complete list and may change.

- Minimum: $20 per barcode.
- Maximum at Walmart: $1,000 per barcode.
- Maximum at other listed retailers: $500 per barcode.
- Daily aggregate: $1,500.
- Weekly aggregate: $3,500.
- Monthly aggregate: $5,000.
A barcode counts toward the applicable limit even when the cashier scans it and the payment is not completed. Generating several barcodes is therefore not a way to bypass the cap.
ReadyCode cash-out limits
ReadyCode sales are made in $20 increments, normally up to $400 per transaction and $2,000 per day. Coinme says a state or the individual ATM can impose a lower limit. California, for example, is listed with a $1,000 daily ReadyCode sell cap; New Mexico is also listed with a $1,000 daily cap.
Higher account limits are a different tier
Coinme’s developer KYC table documents figures that apply to certain verified transaction types rather than automatically to every cash machine: debit-card buys can be listed at $20,000 per day and $100,000 per month, while cash sells can be listed at $2,000 per day and $60,000 per month. Partner-specific identity checks may change those figures. A large KYC-table limit does not override a kiosk, retailer, state or account-level cash limit.

What fees does Coinme Cash charge?
The published Coinme Cash retail fee is $4.74 at Walmart and $3.95 at CVS, Walgreens and other listed retailers. These are channel-specific published fees, not a universal fee for every Coinme transaction. Coinstar and ReadyCode costs can vary by location, transaction and account, so review the quote and fee displayed in the app or on the kiosk before confirming.

The crypto amount is not fixed when you create a barcode. Coinme says the final amount depends on the market quote at completion, so the value can differ if the quote changes between barcode creation and payment. The app or kiosk should show the applicable amount before you approve the transaction.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to buy crypto with Coinme Cash
- Open the Coinme app and go to Transact → Buy.
- Select Pay with Cash.
- Choose a supported retail location.
- Select the asset and amount allowed for that location and your account.
- Generate the barcode.
- Take the barcode to the selected checkout counter and present it within one hour.
- Pay the cashier in cash and keep the receipt.
- Check the completed transaction and crypto amount in the app. The amount uses the market quote at completion, not necessarily the quote visible when you first opened the screen.
Do not create a barcode for a different retailer and expect it to work elsewhere. The barcode is tied to the selected location and contributes to your aggregate limit even if the payment fails or is abandoned.
How to sell crypto and collect cash at a ReadyCode ATM
- Verify your identity and make sure the asset you want to sell is supported for the chosen ReadyCode location.
- In the Coinme app, start a sell transaction and select a ReadyCode cash-pickup location.
- Enter an amount in $20 increments, staying within the displayed per-transaction and daily limits.
- Confirm the sale and follow the app’s instructions for the ReadyCode.
- Go to the selected ATM and enter or scan the code as instructed.
- Collect the cash and retain the receipt until the transaction is shown as complete in the app.
ReadyCode is for cash pickup after a sale; it is not the same as depositing bills into a Coinstar kiosk. The default $400 transaction and $2,000 daily figures can be reduced by state or location rules.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsIdentity verification and your personal limits
Identity verification is required to transact on Coinme. Verification can affect which assets, locations and limits are offered to you. Coinme’s Help Center provides a direct way to see your own ceilings: open Account → Transaction Limits in the app to view personal daily and monthly limits.
Use the in-app number as the operational limit for your account, even when a public page advertises a higher maximum. Public figures describe a channel’s ceiling; your verified status, transaction history, partner checks and local regulations can reduce it.
Why a transaction may be refused or limited
- The location does not support the selected coin: choose another service point and recheck its asset list.
- Your state has a lower cap: use the limit displayed for the selected location rather than the national advertising maximum.
- You reached an aggregate limit: Coinme Cash tracks daily, weekly and monthly totals, and a scanned barcode counts even if payment was not completed.
- The account is not verified: complete identity verification before attempting another transaction.
- The barcode expired: Coinme Cash barcodes must be presented within one hour; generate a new one only after checking that the prior barcode has not consumed available capacity.
- The ATM or retailer is unavailable: check the map and location details again; network counts do not guarantee that every terminal is operating at all times.
- The quote changed: the final Coinme Cash crypto amount is determined by the market quote at completion.
A practical checklist before carrying cash to a location
- Confirm that your state is served; Coinme says New York and Vermont are unavailable.
- Confirm the channel you need: Coinstar for buying, Coinme Cash for a retail barcode purchase, or ReadyCode for cashing out.
- Open the exact location in the app and verify the asset list.
- Check Account → Transaction Limits and compare your available amount with the location’s cap.
- Calculate the applicable cash fee, especially the $4.74 Walmart or $3.95 CVS, Walgreens and other listed-retailer fee for Coinme Cash.
- Bring the required cash and identification, and keep every receipt.
- For Coinme Cash, present the barcode within one hour and remember that a scan counts toward your limit even if payment does not finish.
- For ReadyCode, plan around $20 increments and the displayed $400-per-transaction default, not the larger limits advertised for unrelated account tiers.
Bottom line for choosing a Coinme cash channel
Choose a Coinstar kiosk when you want to buy crypto directly with cash and the selected kiosk supports your asset. Choose Coinme Cash when a nearby retail checkout is more convenient and you can stay within the barcode and aggregate ceilings. Choose ReadyCode when you are selling supported crypto and need cash pickup. In every case, the exact location in Coinme’s map or app determines the available coin, fee and limit; public maximums are not guarantees for your account or state.
