To make CloudCompare available on managed Windows devices, add it from the Intune Enterprise App Catalog, review its prefilled package settings, assign it to the right groups, and create the deployment. Check the package version and options shown in your own tenant before proceeding: catalog inventory can change.
Before you add CloudCompare
The Enterprise App Catalog contains prepared Microsoft and non-Microsoft applications for Intune deployment. Microsoft’s Enterprise App Management documentation says the feature requires a subscription in addition to Intune Plan 1 or Plan 2. It is available as a standalone capability or through the Intune Suite. Check current licensing and cloud eligibility for your organization and tenant.
Microsoft lists CloudCompare in its Enterprise App Catalog application inventory. A walkthrough published August 24, 2026, displayed an x64, en-US package at version 2.13.2; this is a dated example, not confirmation that the same version or options are currently offered in your tenant. CloudCompare is described in that walkthrough as software for visualizing and comparing dense 3D point clouds and working with triangular meshes, including in surveying, archaeology, and industrial measurement workflows.
Microsoft says it does not assert compliance, authorization, authenticity, or integrity for apps distributed through Intune. Your organization remains responsible for evaluating an app against its requirements.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Add the Enterprise App Catalog package
- In the Intune admin center, go to Apps → All Apps → Create.
- Choose Windows, then Enterprise App Catalog app.
- Search for CloudCompare. Select the package that matches the name, language, architecture, and version you intend to deploy. Confirm these details in your tenant rather than relying on the dated version example above.
- Review the populated app information and proceed through the package configuration screens.
Review the package settings
The catalog supplies prefilled install commands, requirements, and detection settings. Microsoft recommends leaving these defaults in place unless you have a specific, tested reason to change them. Its guidance warns that altering install commands or using custom PowerShell scripts can cause installation or updates to fail.
- Program: Inspect the install and uninstall commands. The CloudCompare walkthrough left the catalog-provided program settings unchanged.
- Requirements: Review the device conditions the package uses to determine whether it can install.
- Detection: Review how Intune determines whether CloudCompare is installed. An incorrect custom detection rule can prevent accurate reporting or updates.
Continue through the remaining configuration and review screens, making only changes that are necessary for your environment and have been tested.

Choose an assignment that matches your rollout
Assign the app to the intended user or device groups, then review the targeting before creating it. The assignment type determines what Intune does:
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
- Required: Intune installs the app for targeted groups.
- Available for enrolled devices: Users in the targeted groups can install the app from Company Portal.
- Uninstall: Intune removes the app from the selected groups.
The walkthrough added a group and completed the review-and-create step. Use your organization’s deployment scope and assignment practices when selecting groups.

Decide how to handle catalog updates
For an Enterprise App Catalog app assigned as Required, you can enable auto-update so Intune can apply newer catalog versions. Microsoft documents important limitations: there is no rollback or automatic uninstall remediation, and there are no staged rollout rings. Avoid managing the same app through competing deployment types, which can conflict.
Microsoft’s 2026 update guidance targets 80–90% of catalog app updates for processing and availability in the Intune portal within 24 hours of ingestion; updates that need manual validation are targeted for completion within seven days. These are service-level objectives and guidelines, not guarantees. If you need tighter change control, use a reviewed update workflow rather than assuming automatic updates provide staged deployment or rollback.

Monitor the deployment
After creating the app, check its app and device status in Intune. Microsoft’s Enterprise App Management documentation describes the Managed Apps report for viewing per-device app state. Where users install an Available assignment, Company Portal can also show the app’s availability and installation status. The CloudCompare walkthrough suggested checking after eight hours, but that timing is the author’s procedure, not a Microsoft-guaranteed completion window.
