Download architecture icons directly from each cloud provider: AWS publishes an architecture icon package, Microsoft offers Azure icons as general-purpose SVG files, and Google Cloud provides product icon downloads in SVG and PNG. The artwork is available from official libraries, but formats, update practices, and usage terms differ, so check the provider’s guidance before publishing a diagram.
Official cloud architecture icon downloads
| Provider | Official resource | Formats and packaging | Currency and older artwork |
|---|---|---|---|
| AWS | AWS architecture icons | An icon package; the page does not specify its file formats. | AWS says releases are planned for Q1, Q2, and Q3, with no Q4 release. It cautions that third-party libraries may contain legacy sets. |
| Microsoft Azure | Azure Architecture Center icons | General-purpose SVG files; not provided as Visio stencils. | The page’s icon history includes a July 2026 update and lists July 9, 2026, as its last-updated date. |
| Google Cloud | Google Cloud product icons | Separate SVG and PNG ZIP downloads for core product and product category icons. | The library also links a legacy console icon download. Google says its product iconography was updated in early 2025. |
Use the provider’s own resource as your starting point rather than relying on an unofficial pack. The official pages make clear that the three providers do not offer identical packaging, formats, update schedules, or terms.
Download and use each provider’s icons
AWS
Open the AWS architecture icons page and download its icon package. AWS says customers and partners may use its toolkits and assets to create architecture diagrams, and its page also describes use in materials such as whitepapers, presentations, data sheets, and posters. Follow the current page’s conditions when using the assets.
AWS states that package releases are scheduled for the end of January (Q1), the end of April (Q2), and the end of July (Q3), with no Q4 release. These are the schedule stated on the page, not a guarantee that a release occurs on a particular date. AWS also warns that third-party libraries may include legacy icon sets, so compare artwork with the official package before using it.
#1 Best Overall
Microsoft Azure
Use the Azure Architecture Center icon page to obtain the general-purpose SVG files. Microsoft says these files work with many diagramming and drawing tools, including Visio, but are not supplied as Visio stencils.
Microsoft permits these icons in architectural diagrams, training materials, and documentation, subject to its terms. Its guidance is to illustrate Azure products working together, keep the product name near its icon, and show icons as they appear within Azure. Do not crop, flip, rotate, or distort them, or use a Microsoft product icon to represent another product or service. The page says copying, distribution, and display are limited to permitted uses unless Microsoft grants permission.

Google Cloud
Visit the Google Cloud product icon library for separate SVG and PNG ZIP downloads covering core products and product categories. The page also links a separate legacy console icon download; choose the current product sets for a new diagram unless you specifically need legacy console artwork.
Google says it updated its product iconography in early 2025 and links an overview of the new system. Check that overview and the library’s current downloads when building or updating documentation so older artwork is not mistaken for the current visual system.

Choose, label, and maintain icons in a diagram
- Start with the official library. Download from the provider’s resource page above, not an unknown third-party collection.
- Use the current artwork. Check the provider page for update information and avoid legacy assets unless your diagram has a specific compatibility reason to use them.
- Keep labels explicit. Place product names near Azure icons as Microsoft recommends. For any provider, use text labels to identify services rather than expecting a logo or pictogram to communicate the full meaning of a diagram.
- Preserve the artwork and its context. Follow provider-specific restrictions; for Azure, do not crop, flip, rotate, or distort icons, and do not repurpose a product icon to stand for a different service.
Because these libraries change on different schedules, recheck the official download page when revising a long-lived architecture diagram. That is especially useful if an asset came from a third-party pack or a library that includes old artwork.
