De Click & Grow Smart Garden 3 is een compacte, stekkergevoede binnentuin voor wie binnen een paar kruiden wil kweken met weinig dagelijkse handelingen. Er passen maximaal drie Plant Pods in; de verlichting en bewatering zijn volgens de fabrikant geautomatiseerd. Dat maakt het systeem eenvoudig van opzet, maar geen oplossing voor grote oogsten: je hebt passende navulpods nodig en de verstelbare lamp vraagt ook verticale ruimte.
Wat krijg je en hoe werkt de Smart Garden 3?
De Amerikaanse productpagina van Click & Grow beschrijft een starterkit met drie basilicumpods, drie cups, drie kiemkoepels, twee lampverlengstukken, een waterreservoir, een LED-groeilamp en een quickstartgids. De fabrikant zegt: “The Smart Garden 3 includes three Basil Plant Pods to get you started.” Dat is een beschrijving van die starterkit; inhoud kan per markt of bundel verschillen. De opstart is eenvoudig: plaats de pods in de cups, dek ze in het begin af met de kiemkoepels en verwijder die zodra de spruiten zichtbaar zijn. Vul vervolgens het reservoir bij tot de niveau-indicator en sluit het apparaat aan. De lamp verzorgt de verlichting en het systeem geeft water vanuit het reservoir. Het is dus minder werk dan zelf zaden, substraat en bewatering combineren, maar niet volledig onderhoudsvrij: je houdt het waterniveau in de gaten en moet de lamp hoger zetten terwijl de planten groeien. Hoeveel kruiden passen erin, en voor wie is dat genoeg?
Er zijn drie podposities. Daarmee kun je bijvoorbeeld drie kruiden tegelijk laten groeien, maar de capaciteit beperkt zowel de hoeveelheid als de variatie die je op één moment kunt hebben. De Smart Garden 3 past daarom vooral bij iemand die af en toe verse kruiden wil knippen, niet bij wie een ruime voorraad of meerdere soorten bladgroente tegelijk wil telen. Wie grotere oogsten verwacht, doet er goed aan een groter systeem te overwegen.

De behuizing neemt volgens Click & Grow 30 cm breedte en 12 cm diepte in beslag. Met lampverlenging is de opgegeven hoogte circa 21 tot 47 cm; meet dus niet alleen het aanrechtoppervlak, maar ook de vrije ruimte erboven. De fabrikant adviseert een omgevingstemperatuur van 20–24 °C. Click & Grow Support
Hoe vaak moet je water bijvullen?
De bronnen van de fabrikant zijn hierover niet consistent, dus een vaste hervulfrequentie is niet betrouwbaar vast te stellen. De productpagina noemt in de specificatietabel 1,5 liter, maar elders 1,2 liter; de helpdesk noemt 1,5 liter en de installatiehandleiding adviseert ongeveer 1,3 liter water te vullen. Dezelfde productpagina beweert dat 1,2 liter tot drie weken meegaat, maar die claim staat naast de afwijkende inhoudsgegevens en is geen universele garantie voor elk gewas of elke omgeving. Gebruik voor je exemplaar de niveau-indicator en de handleiding die bij de verkochte uitvoering hoort, in plaats van op een vast aantal dagen te vertrouwen. Controleer de tankinhoud bij de verkoper of in de handleiding voordat je daar een verwachting aan koppelt.

Dat is geen garantie voor andere gebruikers: soort plant, omstandigheden en verzorging kunnen verschillen. Click & Grow vermeldt een nominaal vermogen van 8 W en een verbruik van 3,8 kWh per maand; dat zijn fabrikantgegevens, geen onafhankelijke verbruiksmeting. Een Nederlandse reviewer noemde 6 W voor diens exemplaar, zodat uitvoeringen of meetwijze mogelijk verschillen. Pods en terugkerende kosten
De meegeleverde pods maken de start overzichtelijk: je hoeft niet zelf zaden en groeimedium samen te stellen. Pods zijn wel verbruiksartikelen. Click & Grow verkoopt navulpods in verschillende soorten, maar de beschikbare varianten, compatibiliteit van specifieke pods en actuele prijzen in Nederland zijn hier niet vastgesteld. Controleer die punten bij de verkoper voordat je koopt; de Amerikaanse productpagina of bundelvoorwaarden zeggen niet automatisch iets over Nederlandse prijs, voorraad of garantie.

Is de Smart Garden 3 het geld waard?
Dat hangt vooral af van hoeveel je wilt kweken en hoeveel gemak je belangrijk vindt. Voor een kleine keuken en enkele kruiden is de combinatie van drie podposities, automatische verlichting en passieve bewatering aantrekkelijk. Daartegenover staan de beperkte capaciteit, de noodzaak om passende navulpods te gebruiken en de benodigde ruimte boven het apparaat voor de lamp. Een koper die vooral een grote of goedkope voorraad kruiden wil, moet de terugkerende podkosten en beperkte schaal meewegen.
De beschikbare onafhankelijke context is beperkt: Consumer Reports omschrijft het model als geschikt voor beginners en mensen die wat kruiden of bladgroente dichtbij willen, maar die samenvatting biedt geen basis voor een bredere testconclusie. Consumer Reports
