For Elyos, complete the Clash Rune Chest quests in Verteron; for Asmodians, look in Altgard. Current guides list four quests per faction, with later quests tied to Episode 6 progression. For more Runes, guides report a repeatable route through Nightmare mode: reach item level 1,000, clear solo bosses for Phantasmal Fragments, then spend the fragments in the Nightmare Shop.
Where to get Clash Rune Chests by faction
The quest routes and rewards below are reported by current guides, not confirmed in NCSoft’s official update announcement. Treat the listed levels as guide-provided availability or recommended levels, not verified hard unlock requirements. Check the Regional quest journal in your live client for the quest name, availability, and reward.
Asmodians: Altgard
- The Future Within the Past — Uruthumheim, level 30.
- Hugo Mercenaries: An Old Promise — Dranactus, level 32. Complete Past and Present and Deep Shadow in the Hugo Mercenary chain first.
- Fallout — Southern Gribade Highland, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
- Another Survivor — Nornir Assembly, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
Elyos: Verteron
- Cursed Blue Mineral — Aullaeu Village, level 30.
- Zuminon’s Call: Part Two — Western Altamia Highland, level 37. Complete Part One first. One guide spells the name “Zumion’s Call: Part Two,” so check the exact label in your quest journal.
- Kraka Pond Pests — Southern Altamia Highland, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
- All Work and No Play — Aullaeu Village, level 45, after completing Episode 6 quests.
The guides describe each reward as a bound Clash Rune Chest containing one guaranteed Rune and enhancement materials. Confirm the reward in-game, particularly if a quest name or regional listing differs.

Guide-reported information puts the Nightmare unlock at item level 1,000. After unlocking the mode, clear solo boss stages to earn Phantasmal Fragments, then use those fragments in the Nightmare Shop to buy additional Clash Runes or chests.

Equipping Runes and their reported stats
Guides describe two Rune equipment slots, with a slotted Rune activating its stats. AllThingsHow reports 40 item levels per equipped Rune, or 80 for two, and gives these base values:

These figures are guide-reported, not verified official specifications. Check the Rune and equipment screens in your client before planning around them.
Enhancement: avoid risking a scarce Rune
Guides disagree about when enhancement can destroy a Rune. One says +1 is safe and failure can destroy the Rune from +2 onward; another places the risk at +3 and beyond. Sportskeeda reports success rates of 80% for +1 to +2, 66% for +2 to +3, and 50% for +3 to +4, but those odds are not officially confirmed.

Until you have spare Runes and have checked the enhancement screen’s current failure behavior, the conservative choice is to stop at +1. Do not rely on guide-reported odds or thresholds as guaranteed mechanics.
