Clash Royale: The Grand Arena is a physical, turn-based board game from Maestro Media and Supercell that adapts the mobile game’s decks, Champions, Elixir, lanes and tower battles for 2–4 players. The Kickstarter campaign is currently planned for October 20, 2026. The announced format is aimed at players aged 12 and older, with games taking approximately 30 minutes.
What the trailer reveal confirms
The reveal frames The Grand Arena as a tabletop translation rather than a simple card-game reskin. Players build an eight-card deck around a chosen Champion, deploy cards into two lanes, spend Elixir to determine what they can do, and attack opposing towers. Destroyed towers award Crowns; after multiple battles, the player with the most Crowns wins.
That structure preserves the recognizable decisions from Clash Royale while replacing a phone screen and real-time interface with a shared board, physical cards and turn-based choices. The trailer is referenced by the reveal coverage, but a stable official trailer URL and a complete component list have not yet been published.

Maestro Media’s Kickstarter campaign for Clash Royale: The Grand Arena is planned to begin on October 20, 2026. Earlier 2026 announcements mentioned September, but October 20 is the latest dated campaign information available.

The campaign page should be treated as the authority for pledge levels, final pricing, shipping estimates and any campaign-exclusive content once it goes live. None of those details has been formally published in the available reveal coverage.
How The Grand Arena plays
Decks and Champions
Each player controls a force represented by an eight-card deck built around a selected Champion. The available reveal material does not provide a final list of Champions, cards or their statistics, so it is not yet possible to identify the included roster or determine whether every mobile-game card will appear.
Two-lane deployment
The board divides the fight into two lanes. Every deployment therefore creates a spatial question: commit pressure to one side, split forces, reinforce a threatened tower or hold cards for a counterattack. Physical positioning is intended to replace the mobile arena’s on-screen placement decisions without requiring simultaneous touchscreen actions.

Elixir as the limiting resource
Elixir controls how much a player can do during a turn. Spending it on a powerful unit or attack can leave fewer resources for defense, while conserving it may allow a stronger response on a later turn. The system is the central pacing mechanism and the main way the tabletop game recreates Clash Royale’s familiar pressure in a non-real-time format.
Battles, towers and Crowns
Games are played across multiple battles. Destroying an opponent’s tower earns a Crown, and the player with the most Crowns at the end takes the win. The published format supports two to four players, so the same core objectives must work in both head-to-head and larger multiplayer games.

The biggest change is tempo. The mobile game’s tension comes from acting while an opponent can respond immediately. The board game instead makes each turn readable and deliberate, giving players time to evaluate lane threats, Elixir costs and possible counters.

How the design team adapted real-time pressure
Lead designer David Gordon said the team tested several approaches, including real-time play against a clock, cube-heavy systems and simultaneous reveals. Those experiments were ultimately rejected in favor of a turn-based system centered on Elixir spending.
Gordon summarized the design conclusion this way: “Ultimately, we found that focusing on elixir spending in a turn-based card play system yielded a fun experience that most resembled that of the videogame.” He also described the resulting play pattern: “By focusing on lanes, counter play, and quick turns, we created a system where players feel that same exciting back-and-forth momentum.”
The reveal coverage says the team play-tested with both existing Clash fans and strategy-game players who were unfamiliar with the mobile title. That testing goal matters because the board game must communicate its rules without assuming that every player already knows Clash Royale’s card interactions.

- Format: physical tabletop game; no mobile app requirement has been announced.
The 30-minute estimate is the published approximate play time, not a guaranteed duration for every group. Multiplayer turns, teaching the game to new players and the number of battles required can affect the session length.

Can you buy it on Amazon?
There is no confirmed Amazon listing for The Grand Arena in the available information. It should not be treated as available for purchase before the Kickstarter campaign is live and a retailer listing is verified. A separate Supercell tabletop title, Clash of Clans: The Epic Raid, has been announced for selected retailers, including Amazon, Walmart Canada and Target, but that is a different game and does not establish availability for The Grand Arena.
Who should watch the campaign?
The game is most clearly aimed at two audiences: Clash Royale players who want a physical version of the game’s lane-and-counterplay decisions, and tabletop strategy players looking for a short deck-driven battle game. Mobile players should expect a slower, more deliberate experience, while newcomers will need to learn the card and Champion system without relying on prior knowledge of the app.
For now, the meaningful milestone is the planned October 20 Kickstarter launch. That campaign should settle the unanswered questions about price, contents, shipping and eventual retail availability.
