After your first Circle to Search result appears, you can reportedly invoke the feature again and select another object on the same screen. The second selection adds another visual-search step to the sequence, a small interaction that shows how the tool can be used to explore related items without leaving the screen.
How the repeated-search trick works
Android Authority reported the behavior on March 11, 2026, attributing a demonstration to tech observer Leah Lundqvist and saying its staff tried it. After making an initial selection and viewing the result, reopen Circle to Search and circle a second object. The report describes successive selections as adding context to a chain of visual searches.
This is a reported behavior, not a sequence documented on Google’s official help page. The report does not establish that it behaves identically across every supported phone, app, or software version, or that results always combine in a particular way. Treat it as something to try on your device rather than a guaranteed feature. Android Authority’s report
How to use Circle to Search normally
- On a supported Android phone, touch and hold the Home button or navigation handle until the Search bar and gradient glow appear.
- Circle, highlight, scribble on, or tap the content you want to search.
- Review the results shown in the lower half of the screen.
- To try the reported trick, invoke Circle to Search again after the first result and select another object on the screen.
Google describes Circle to Search as a way to search screen content without switching to another app. Its help page documents the standard gesture and selection methods, but not the repeated-selection sequence. Google Search Help: Search your screen with Circle to Search

Check compatibility and selection limits
Circle to Search is available on select Android phones. Google gives Pixel 6 and later as an example, not a complete or permanent list; check the current support information for your exact model rather than assuming every Android phone is eligible.
- Adjust a selection: Drag its borders or move the selection itself if it does not capture the content you want.
- Some apps may block it: Google cautions that Circle to Search may not work in banking, medical, or other confidential apps.
- Results can vary: The reported repeated-search behavior has not been established across all supported devices, app contexts, or software versions.
Does this trick mean you need a new phone?
No. If your current phone supports Circle to Search, the reported interaction requires no accessory or paid service. If it does not, the trick alone is not a reason to replace it; verify support for any exact model you are considering and weigh that against your other device needs.
