The Omega ORU52X is a 52 cm undermount rangehood with published support for ducted or recirculating extraction. Omega’s product sheet lists 790 m³/hr net extraction and a 51–66 dBA noise range, but these are manufacturer specifications, not independently verified real-world results. Before choosing it, confirm the cabinet opening, duct route, electrical requirements and the exact model revision against the appliance and current local documentation.
What the ORU52X is—and what this review can establish
Omega describes the ORU52X as a stainless-steel undermount rangehood in the 52 cm category. The available documentation supports a technical overview, but it does not establish current retail availability or how the hood performs in a kitchen. Practical extraction and noise performance have not been independently tested here, so treat the published figures below as specifications rather than test results.

Will it fit your cabinetry?
Do not rely on the product-sheet drawing alone: Omega says it is indicative and instructs installers to use the physical product measurements for cabinet cut-outs. The manual gives a 490 × 265 mm opening for the ORU52X, while the sheet lists the hood body as 254 × 520 × 296 mm, plus 60 mm for the flue connection.
The manual recommends locating the hood 65–75 cm above the cooking surface. Confirm the required clearance for your cooktop and local rules rather than treating that recommendation as a substitute for appliance-specific installation guidance.

- Measure the hood, cabinet opening, cabinet depth and available space for the flue before modifying cabinetry.
- Confirm that the planned duct route or recirculation setup suits the kitchen and the applicable local requirements.
Ducted or recirculating: plan the installation first
The product sheet describes both ducted and recirculating extraction and lists a 150 mm flue diameter. The available specifications do not establish which configuration will work best in a particular kitchen; that depends on the intended outlet path and installation conditions.

Controls, lighting and upkeep
The manual describes push-button controls for stop, low, mid, high and light. It specifies GU-10 base halogen illumination up to 40 W per lamp. Before replacing a lamp, disconnect mains power and check the appliance labels for the permitted maximum rating.
For upkeep, the manual recommends cleaning the filter every 4–6 weeks depending on use. It says the removable filter can be washed in warm soapy water or in a dishwasher, but dishwasher cleaning may discolour the mesh and frame. Switch off and disconnect power before cleaning; accumulated grease can create a fire hazard. Use the current manual for the exact appliance revision.

Carbon filter replacement
Omega’s product sheet lists optional carbon filter spare part ALFL68A601C. That establishes that the part is named for this model in the sheet; it does not confirm current stock or compatibility across every revision. Check the hood’s model and rating plate, then confirm the part number with Omega or an authorised parts supplier before ordering.
