AANT Comprehensive Plus is the top-tier car insurance policy AANT offers, issued by Insurance Australia Limited under the CGU brand. It advertises cover for damage to your car from events including collision, fire, theft, storm and flood, plus damage your car causes to other people’s vehicles and property. Whether it suits you depends on the full policy terms and the price of a quote for your circumstances—not the tier name alone.
What Comprehensive Plus covers
AANT’s product page describes the policy as covering theft, storm damage, fire and flood, and accidental damage, including damage caused when you are at fault in an accident. It also says cover applies when another person is permitted to drive the car. These are summary descriptions; the policy wording determines the insured events, conditions, exclusions and claim requirements. AANT’s Comprehensive Plus page links to the product documents.
- Glass: AANT lists $0 excess for glass damage.
- Hire car: AANT lists a hire car after an incident CGU covers.
- Child restraints: Baby capsules and seats are listed as covered if stolen or damaged in an accident.
- Taxi fares: AANT states a limit of up to $250.
- Repairer choice: choosing any licensed repairer is an optional benefit, not an automatic inclusion.

AANT says CGU will try to replace a qualifying written-off car with a similar new car. The stated eligibility conditions are that the insured vehicle weighs under 3.5 tonnes, was bought new or as a demonstrator, is less than 36 months old, and has a suitable replacement reasonably available in Australia. AANT also notes that excesses and exclusion periods may apply. The policy documents set the operative conditions.

How it compares with AANT’s other tiers
AANT positions Comprehensive Basics as its entry tier, Comprehensive as a middle tier with optional extras, and Comprehensive Plus as its top tier with certain features built in. A higher tier is not automatically better value: compare the benefits you need against the premium and the exact policy terms.

CHOICE’s comparison listing says AANT Comprehensive Plus allows either agreed or market value. CHOICE also describes it as a white-label version of an NRMA product and says its cover is identical to four other policies in its comparison. That comparison does not establish identical prices, service, current wording or underwriting arrangements in every circumstance; verify the current AANT documents for the policy you are considering. What does AANT Comprehensive Plus cost?
There is no single published premium in the reviewed AANT material. AANT says car insurance premiums vary with personal circumstances and needs. To compare price fairly, request current quotes using the same car, driver details, insured value, excess, optional benefits and payment frequency. A quote for one configuration is not a reliable comparison with a quote using different cover or excess settings.

AANT says policies purchased or renewed after 16 June 2025 may allow some account-based changes, including adjustments to excess or optional benefits. Availability depends on the policy; its product page says significant changes such as purchasing a new car require contacting AANT. Check current eligibility and account options rather than assuming every policy supports self-service changes.

AANT says customers can pay fortnightly, monthly or quarterly at no extra cost. Confirm the payment options and terms shown in your current quote and policy documents.
The marketing summary is not the insurance contract. Before buying or renewing, review the current PDS for definitions, exclusions and claim requirements, the TMD for whom the product is designed for, and the Certificate of Insurance for your insured value, excesses and selected options. AANT describes its information and advice as general and not tailored to your objectives, financial situation or needs.

Who should compare it closely?
- Drivers prioritising built-in benefits: check whether the included glass excess and hire-car benefit are useful under the conditions in your policy.
- Owners of newer vehicles: check the replacement eligibility criteria and whether a similar new car would be reasonably available in Australia.
- Price-focused shoppers: compare matched quotes across tiers and providers rather than assuming Plus’s higher position means better value.
- Drivers who want repairer choice: confirm the optional benefit’s cost and terms before relying on it.
