The published information establishes its capacity, features and installation requirements, but not how well it cooled in independent testing. CHOICE’s public OAPC14W page marks the model discontinued and shows its specifications, but its Expert Rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score and high-fan noise field are restricted to members. There is therefore no publicly accessible score here that supports a firm performance verdict.

Do not treat the manual’s ≤65 dB(A) sound-power specification as a measured high-fan noise score or a promise about noise in a particular room. Likewise, the 4.10 kW rating alone does not establish the right room size or actual cooling performance in a specific home.

Alongside cooling, dehumidifying and ventilation, the manual lists a timer, sleep mode, LED display, self-evaporating system, full-tank shutoff, automatic restart, low-temperature defrost and casters. It also specifies three fan speeds. These are listed functions, not evidence of how effectively or quietly the unit performs.

“Self-evaporating” does not mean water can never need draining. The unit has a drain opening, and the manual’s troubleshooting guidance says to drain the pan if the “Ft” high-condensate alarm appears.

This portable air conditioner must vent hot exhaust air outdoors. The manual’s listed installation accessories are an exhaust hose, hose connector, window-kit adapter, remote control and window kit. CHOICE also lists a window kit and remote. For a used unit, confirm the hose and window components are actually present and that they fit the intended window before buying.

- Choose a suitable position. Put the unit on a firm, level surface and leave at least 50 cm of free space around it, as the manual directs.
- Keep airflow clear. Do not obstruct the air inlets or outlets.
- Set up the exhaust. Connect the exhaust hose and route it outdoors using the window kit. The kit needs to fit the window opening well enough for the installation to work as intended.
- Check the electrical supply. The manual specifies 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz and warns against using an extension cord or adapter plug.
Follow the model manual’s installation and safety directions; a listing photo or a seller’s claim does not establish that missing or replacement parts are compatible.
What should you know about refrigerant and servicing?
The manual identifies R290 as propane and warns that it is flammable. It describes a sealed refrigerant circuit and says it should be serviced only by a qualified technician. These are the manufacturer’s instructions for the appliance; do not attempt to open or repair the refrigerant circuit yourself.

CHOICE labels the OAPC14W discontinued. Its page displays $849, but that is a figure shown on the review listing—not confirmation of a current retail offer. Omega Altise’s current homepage displays other models; that does not establish that every retailer is out of residual stock. Treat any claimed new unit as a listing to verify, including exact model number, condition, seller, stock and warranty terms.

The manual states a 36-month manufacturer warranty from purchase in Australia and New Zealand, subject to conditions. For commercial or rental use, it states 12 months for parts and three months for labour. The manual does not establish whether a warranty transfers to a subsequent owner or remains claimable on a particular used unit.
