The iPhone 16 is the smaller, lighter choice, while the iQOO 15R offers a larger display, a much higher stated battery capacity and faster wired charging. There is no verified like-for-like price comparison or independent head-to-head test here, so the right pick depends on your priorities—not a single spec-sheet winner.

Which phone is better for everyday use?
Choose the iPhone 16 for compact handling
At 6.1 inches and 170g, the iPhone 16 is the more compact and lighter phone by its published dimensions. Consider it if one-handed handling and a smaller device matter more to you than having a larger screen.
Choose the iQOO 15R for a larger display
The 6.59-inch iQOO 15R gives you more screen area. Its refresh-rate figure needs care: iQOO’s official parameter page specifies 130Hz in normal scenes and 360Hz touch sampling for gaming, while launch reporting and a comparison page state 144Hz. Those figures are not reconciled in the available information, so check the exact display specification for the model you are buying rather than treating 144Hz as settled.

iQOO lists a 7600mAh typical battery and 100W charging. Apple does not state the iPhone 16’s battery capacity on the cited specification page; it claims up to 22 hours of video playback. That playback claim and a battery-capacity figure measure different things, so they do not show which phone lasts longer in real-world use.

Apple’s cited fast-charge configuration reaches up to 50% in 30 minutes using a 20W-or-higher adapter and a USB-C cable; the adapter is sold separately. The iQOO’s listed 100W rating is higher, but the supplied evidence does not establish real-world charging times under comparable conditions.
Camera specifications: what they do and do not tell you
The iPhone 16 pairs a 48MP main camera with a 12MP ultra-wide and offers a 2× telephoto option enabled through the main sensor, plus up to 10× digital zoom. The iQOO 15R lists a 50MP Sony LYT-700V main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 32MP front camera. These specifications describe hardware and options, not comparative image quality: megapixel counts alone cannot establish which phone takes better photos or video.

Price in India: compare current offers on the same basis
At the time the cited Apple India store listing was accessed in 2026, it showed ₹89,900 for the 128GB iPhone 16. A 28 February 2026 launch report gave the iQOO 15R a net-effective starting price of ₹40,999. That iQOO figure is a launch-period, offer-qualified starting price—not a confirmed current list price or a like-for-like offer—so subtracting it from Apple’s listing would not produce a reliable current price difference.
Before buying, compare the live seller price for the exact storage configuration on each phone. Check whether a displayed offer depends on a bank card, exchange, coupon or EMI, and account for those terms separately. The iQOO launch report said sales began in India on 3 March 2026 through Amazon.in, iQOO’s e-store, select vivo exclusive stores, Reliance Digital and other retail outlets; that records launch channels, not current stock.

Durability, software and ecosystem
Apple lists the iPhone 16 as IP68, rated for a maximum depth of 6m for up to 30 minutes under IEC 60529. The cited iQOO parameter page does not give an ingress-protection rating; that omission is not evidence that the phone has no water resistance.
Launch coverage described the iQOO 15R as running OriginOS 6 based on Android 16 and reported four years of OS updates and six years of security patches. Treat those as launch-reported support terms rather than a guarantee; confirm the current commitment in official iQOO materials before purchase. Choose based on the operating system and services you prefer: iOS and Apple ecosystem features on one side, Android and iQOO’s software on the other.

Which should you buy?
- Consider the iPhone 16 if you want a lighter, more compact phone, Apple’s stated camera and system features, its listed IP68 rating, or the iOS ecosystem.
- Consider the iQOO 15R if a larger display, high stated battery capacity, 100W charging and the listed 256GB or 512GB storage options matter more. Confirm the refresh-rate specification for the specific device before relying on a 144Hz claim.
This is a specification-based decision guide, not a tested overall ranking. The available evidence does not establish a winner for camera output, sustained gaming, battery endurance, heating or overall value; those questions require comparable independent testing and current, like-for-like prices.
