Neither GoDaddy nor StableHost is a proven all-around winner: the available official information supports comparing plan limits, features, and the price for your chosen term, but not declaring one faster or more reliable from independent testing. StableHost publishes detailed shared-hosting resource limits; GoDaddy emphasizes bundled features and multiple hosting options. Pick the plan that fits your sites and workload, then compare its checkout and renewal costs.
How to compare the hosts fairly
Match the type of hosting, number of websites, billing term, and required features before comparing prices. An entry-level plan at one host is not necessarily equivalent to a multi-site or higher-resource plan at the other. GoDaddy’s shared cPanel plans cover 1–50 websites depending on plan, according to its product comparison. StableHost publishes plan-by-plan limits in its shared-hosting comparison.
Also separate a provider’s guarantee or marketing claim from measured results. StableHost lists 99.9% uptime SLAs for Mini, Starter, and Pro and 99.99% for Platinum. GoDaddy advertises a 99.9% uptime guarantee. These are published terms, not results from a matched uptime-monitoring test. GoDaddy’s “up to 2x faster” statement and StableHost’s estimate of around 300,000 monthly visitors for Starter and Pro are provider claims; the cited material does not give a common independent test methodology. See GoDaddy’s hosting page and StableHost’s plan page.

Which StableHost plan fits your site?
StableHost’s published comparison gives more specific shared-plan resource limits than the GoDaddy material reviewed here. The figures below are provider-listed plan specifications, not measurements of real-world performance.
#1 Best Overall
| StableHost plan | Websites | Listed resources | Uptime SLA | Useful fit and caveats |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Mini | 1 | 5 GB storage, 500 GB/month bandwidth, 500 MB RAM, 20 PHP processes | 99.9% | Listed for a small static site and email; no database is included on the public plan listing. |
| Starter | 1 | Unlimited disk and bandwidth, 2 GB RAM, 25 PHP processes | 99.9% | For one standard site; “unlimited” is the provider’s label and remains subject to limits and policies. |
| Pro | Unlimited | Unlimited disk and bandwidth, 2 GB RAM, 25 PHP processes | 99.9% | For multiple sites within the plan’s resource limits; “unlimited” does not remove resource or policy limits. |
| Platinum | Unlimited | Unlimited disk and bandwidth, 5 GB RAM, 100 PHP processes, 2 CPU cores | 99.99% | Higher listed resource ceiling for shared hosting; check whether shared hosting remains appropriate for the workload. |
StableHost lists cPanel, LiteSpeed, SSD storage, daily backups, AutoSSL options, email, and developer tools, with differences by tier. Its plan comparison says shared plans include cPanel, while Mini omits some common features. SSH access is an add-on: the pricing article lists a one-time $3.50 setup charge. That article also lists account migration at $12 per website; both amounts are subject to change. Check the exact plan and current terms in the services pricing details.
What GoDaddy’s shared hosting offers
GoDaddy’s help-page description of shared cPanel hosting includes unmetered bandwidth, daily backups, free unlimited SSLs, 24/7 network security and DDoS protection, and a 99.9% uptime guarantee. It describes plans spanning 1–50 websites, depending on plan, and says shared hosting does not include root access. GoDaddy also cautions that shared-server resource use can affect performance. Review its product comparison alongside the exact plan you intend to buy.
GoDaddy’s hosting page also promotes data centers in North America and Europe, backups, SSL, CDN and firewall features, and hosting for WordPress, Node.js, AI-built, and custom apps. Availability and included features can depend on plan and market, so verify them for your selected offer. The page describes its Guides workforce as “Over 3,500 experts in more than 20 countries”; that is a company-published figure, not an independent audit.
Compare the total price, not the headline discount
StableHost’s public plan page displays promotional monthly rates of $1.58 for Mini, $6.35 for Starter, and $10.06 for Pro, alongside reference rates of $2.11, $12.71, and $20.13 respectively. These are USD figures shown on its official page; the pages do not make every promotion’s total term cost explicit in the same table. StableHost’s pricing information says rates are in USD and subject to change or small variation.
StableHost’s comparison page lists renewal rates of $12.71/month for Starter, $20.13/month for Pro, and $46.51/month for Platinum for both one-month and 12-month renewals. For Mini, it lists no one-month renewal price and a 12-month rate of $2.11/month. Confirm the current offer, initial billing term, renewal amount, and checkout total on StableHost’s hosting plans page and its pricing details.
The GoDaddy page reviewed does not establish one globally applicable price: the visible plan card showed euro pricing, while a search result showed US-dollar “as low as” wording. Prices vary by market and selected term. Check your country, commitment period, renewal price, included features, and checkout total on GoDaddy’s current hosting page. To compare ownership cost, add the initial term and expected renewals over the time you plan to keep the site, plus any required extras.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Choose by site count, workload, and location
One small static site
StableHost Mini is described for a small static site and email, but its listed 5 GB storage and lack of a database may rule it out for a site that needs a database-backed application. Check those limits and the exact features before buying.
One standard dynamic site
StableHost Starter lists one website, 2 GB RAM, and 25 PHP processes. Compare those stated limits and its renewal price against the specific GoDaddy plan you are considering; the GoDaddy pages reviewed do not give equivalent RAM or PHP-process figures.
Best Value
Several websites
StableHost Pro lists unlimited websites, while Starter is limited to one. GoDaddy describes shared cPanel plans covering 1–50 sites depending on plan. Compare the site limit and resource allowance together: a high site-count allowance does not by itself show how much capacity each site can use.
A resource-heavy or growing workload
StableHost lists Platinum with 5 GB RAM, 100 PHP processes, and two CPU cores. It advises moving to a higher plan when limits cause recurring slowdowns or 503 errors. GoDaddy says shared resource usage can affect performance and points users with higher needs toward VPS or dedicated hosting. If your workload needs root access or more predictable resources, assess a non-shared plan rather than assuming a shared plan’s site count or bandwidth label guarantees capacity.
A particular audience region
GoDaddy describes data centers in North America and Europe. StableHost’s current marketing page lists specific locations, and its support comparison lists multiple countries. Confirm the available locations for the exact plan and whether they serve the regions your visitors use; advertised geography alone does not establish latency or performance.
What the available evidence cannot establish
The official pages reviewed do not establish that either provider is faster, more reliable in practice, or better supported in a measured head-to-head comparison. StableHost’s visitor figure and GoDaddy’s speed claim are not directly comparable tests. GoDaddy also publishes a support-workforce count, but that figure alone does not measure response time or resolution quality. If performance and support are decisive, seek current independent monitoring or test support and site performance for the exact plans and locations you would use.
